Most likely the 1080ti will sell better than the 20 series. That crazy price hike, doesn't even seem worth the money. Waiting for reviews and benchmark

AMD cant keep up. Thats why. Nvidia has no reason to sell cheaper.

Almost hit that pre-order button... then I thought, geesh, my processor guaranteed to bottleneck (first gen i7-870 ~ OC to 4GHz) which already being pushed by a GTX 970.

I'll wait for reviews and perhaps see if a system upgrade is really needed.

Apparently the consensus on the presentation was underwhelming - 70% Ray Tracing lecture, 25% Gameplay, 5% GeForce RTX GPU details.  biggrin.gif

The part I was most looking forward to were the list of games that would support Ray Tracing (PUBG??) and comparison to Pascal performance for games but the latter... was never revealed.  sweat.gif  Have to wait for reviews.

the only ray tracing performance that was shown was the two demos by nvidia. The star wars and the dancing guy and robots. Both ran at below 30fps iinm. Each frame needed 40+ ms to render

I am kinda meh about the Ray Tracing tech, and I find it weird that there was no proper benchmark results (cherry pick or not). Really need to wait for actual benchmark next month.

I would like to see which cards, 2080 or 2070, can power 4k at 60hz at max settings.
*
There is no proper benchmark because this is the first time it's done real time la. If there is a benchmark, almost all previous gen cards will get less than 5fps. The theme of this gen is graphics quality. Different ball game d.

Well hoping AMD does surprise us next year then. If they pull a Ryzen i'd be really happy.

Still need teardown and see what's inside. If it's really worth and "game" changing for the long run. brows.gif

I can wait for 6 years already, a couple of months more is not a problem for me now.

Do you think miners can tap into the RTX for some crypto-ray-mining?
Anyway, will be interesting to see the benchmark and will seller actually increase back the price of the 1080 Ti.

The problem with the high price is that the RTX2080ti is only around 30 percent faster on non ray tracing games and with shadow off the performance diff is even closer with GTX 1080ti.Seem if u have GTX1080ti its better just to keep it and wait for 7nm variant of turing this seem like the gtx 480 fiasco all over again but at a retarded price .

if u ever use 3D software like 3ds max by enabling ray-tracing reflection or shadows it is very expensive to render per frame. And before this any raytrace effect need to be calculate by CPU. This is the first time raytrace calculate by GPU. To be able to run 60fps+ with raytracing its a huge achievement thumbsup.gif
