is 2080 / 2080ti upgrade is significant enough over 1080ti?
i'm using 1080ti and i'm satisfied at the moment on 1440p 60fps gaming.

You have to wait for the 1180Ti

Basically Jen-Hsun doesn't give a damn about gamer GPU during the interview for giving such a statement, the money isn't there anymore. He wanted to continue milking us by clearing all the Pascal chips...

how to know which version dp port is used?

I'm guessing anything better than 4k 60hz.
Eg. 4k 144hz, 5k, 6k, 8k...

Can the 1080Ti turbo up to whatever that the cooler is capable off? Or can me manually OC up to the power/thermal limit?

Seems like many people is dumping their 1080Ti before the 2nd hand price tanks further.

New gen card already release , waiting for more cards to be review ( not sure it's real or fake), I doubt they will release 1150ti or something which = 1060.
I will love a 1150ti as fast as a 1060 MaxQ slap inside an XPS15 for thin and light gaming...

NVIDIA GeForce 11-series First Wave Launch Dates Leaked by TPU

QUOTE
Mark your calendars for 30th August, 2018. This is when NVIDIA will debut to market its first GeForce 11-series graphics card, the GTX 1180. This card is the spiritual successor to the GTX 1080, and will initially be launched as an enthusiast product, but will settle down as an upper-performance-segment SKU. Exactly a month after, on 30th September, NVIDIA will launch two SKUs - the GTX 1170, and the GTX 1180+. The GTX 1170 is slightly cut-down from the GTX 1180, and succeeds the GTX 1070. The GTX 1180+, on the other hand, is a brand new "premium" brand extension. It's not a GTX 1080 Ti successor, since it's probably based on the same silicon as the GTX 1180, but will probably ship with higher clock speeds, or a premium reference design. AMD gave its RX Vega 64 a similar treatment with its RX Vega 64 Liquid Edition. A month after that, as the mercury begins to drop, on 30th October, NVIDIA will launch the mid-range GTX 1160 to rake in Holiday sales.

Time to pull the trigger for 1080 ti. Not gonna wait for New Series Graphic Card as I'm still using 4th gen i5. I think it will bottleneck alot comparing to 1080 ti.
*
If you game on the X34A, it is wise to wait for next gen since you already rocking a 1070. The price of the 1080 ti will only continue to go down even new 1180 is more expensive, or SST is introduced.

New GPU will be expensive... Now it's really a good time to buy. GTX 1080 ti amp extreme only cost RM3.4k

Dont think new GPU will cost that low and there might be bottleneck with my current CPU.
*
But the 1080ti will drop lower. Yah they might be bottleneck, but a speed bump will still be a speed bump even with bottleneck.

Hmmm... how low can it get? Below 3k?
*
Maybe at least rm500 reading lepo's experience? Do you OC your i5-4690k? Bottleneck shouldn't be that bad at UW1440p eh...

I guess Nvidia will definitely raise the price.
1170 > 1070
1180 > 1080

I hope the 1170 will be faster than the 1080 Ti and cheaper than the 1080.

How in the world gtx1050ti still cost RM760.With the price , I can almost topup 100 to get a gtx 1060 3GB.
I wonder what so special beside no 6pin power connector. As well as just get 1050 for temp card replacement upon waiting for price drop.
*
I think because you're comparing an expensive brand 1050 Ti with a cheaper brand 1060 3G right?
Just like comparing a Asus 1070 Ti with Zotac 1080.

yep but , gigabyte 1050ti vs 1060 3G gigabyte , 1060 is still below 1k.rm760 vs rm940 still below rm200 but performance is 50% better.
*
Then Gigabyte overpriced their 1050Ti or that 4GB GDDR5 is expensive.

Rule of thumb; if you need the card NOW buy NOW, if you just wanted to upgrade just because you have money just DON'T.

It's literally raining GPU in Garage Sales selling cheap prices even 1080Ti. If the new gen were indeed faster than old ones, you need to think about the price too. For some reason shop still thinks GPU mining is still a thing and prices were simply RIDICULOUS.
*
2nd to this. Used GPU can consider, not brand new ones...
