the only ray tracing performance that was shown was the two demos by nvidia. The star wars and the dancing guy and robots. Both ran at below 30fps iinm. Each frame needed 40+ ms to render
that one is movie quality rendered not for games..and they used the workstation gpu $10k Quadro RTX 8000
this one Battlefield 5 ray-tracing demo baru betul run on Geforce RTX
Why is there such a huge premium just for raytracing?!
if u ever use 3D software like 3ds max by enabling ray-tracing reflection or shadows it is very expensive to render per frame. And before this any raytrace effect need to be calculate by CPU. This is the first time raytrace calculate by GPU. To be able to run 60fps+ with raytracing its a huge achievement
I'm also use X34, almost 2 years already with Gigabyte 970 4GB + 1080p 27" monitor + 1200p Oculus Rift. Most games still can run full resolution 60+fps with a mix high/medium on setting
i've just test play free Destiny 2 games..this one still can achieve 70fps on high setting..i plan might get the RTX 2070 next year to replace 3 years old 970
Upgrade 1070ti first I just bought during yesterday's Shopee electronic day with rm100 discount. Maybe 11.11 should have bigger discount
i first thought want to buy 1070ti or 1080 used..but i think i can wait for 2070 next year la..i'm using 3D application also so the RT cores chip might add some benefit on mental ray/vray rendering in the future
that MSI RTX 2070 ARMOR looks tempting la..macam berbaloi
