Guys, what was the price of 1080 when it first came out? Is there a significant price increase with the new 2080?
*
There absolutely is a heckuva price increase from the 1080 or there won't be this long chain of disgruntled noises of gamers everywhere complaining about the ridiculous pricing from Nvidia.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, RTX 2080Ti with max settings and ray tracing enabled, results? Fluctuations of 30-60fps at 1080p. Yup, 1080p.

While drivers are probably not matured enough yet, I doubt any "game ready" drivers will provide a significant boost either. This is why I said to keep expectations in check.

They even expect you to sli them to the get fps you need lol. The high bandwidth bridge is also sold at another ludicrous 80$.

I wish they would just make a behemoth chip without tensor and ray tracing garbage that has insane number of cuda cores and clock speed.

Jen Hsun will tell you all up to 6x performance promised because the 1080ti would only run it at less than 10fps!

Or maybe Nvidia is keeping the price premium until:
1) Pre-orders got their cards
2) Benchmark are out
3) Cleared old Pascal chips stock

The they drop the price by 25% and release the RTX Titan @ USD1200.
And the GTX 1180 to those who want 40% faster than 1080 Ti @ USD550.

Hopefully thats the case. But unless buyer can hold their/our horses, and the sales for the gpu are bad, or else, without any good competition, there will be no reason for Nvidia to lower their price

No performance comparison between Pascal and Turing of non-RTX games.

A lengthy lecture on Ray Tracing.

A starting MSRP of $499 which turned out to be $599 (FE).

$999 to $1200 for a consumer grade GPU.

And now this... 😞

No thanks Nvidia.

This is the first time I feel let down by a new Nvidia Geforce GPU architecture announcement.
