Mines’s Almost 60k KM I feel the engine is not as quiet but maybe just the wear and tear? I usually hear it more when I turn off eco. On eco it’s quite quiet.

Also anyone noticed a orange liquid in the morning after removing your parked HRV? Noticed it a few times. Not sure what is it.

I face with engine stopping few times and very harsh jerk in low speeds. The problem went away, after SC clean the Throttle body but came back few days later. Not sure what is the issue here sad.gif

One of my rear power window also failed, SC said it could be stuck due non usage (such a lousy excuse) and I am still waiting for my absorber replacement for the past 5 weeks.

Went for my first 10k service last week and was asked to rotate my tires which come with a certain amount of charge.

Question: Do you guys normally rotate your tires during car services?

its normal to do rotate every 10k km with balancing and alignment. but rotating alone should not be charged..

Rotation is every 10k but I do mine outside at my regular tyre shop. If you plan to change all 4 tyres together(next time), rotate if not, just do balancing... Rotation main point is to have all tyres evenly wear. Correct me if I am wrong.

Some people change 2 tyres at a time by choosing to replace the worn one(usually front) but if you rotate, this practice cannot use...

yea you're right bro. usually the rotation is to for the tyres to have even wear and usually for people who change all 4 which means long time use also.

Could be your Hydraulic Tensioner, send to SC for further checking, must be leaking there. Common issues for R18z1 engine.

Well, seems to be, my 2004 city was also the same. 14 years ago, Service centre told me that Honda cars do not need changing of engine old at 1k. The HRV is my 2nd Honda car, so I am guessing it is the same practice. I came from Proton btw.

Any Toyota owner here with same comment from toyota service center?

I mean before 1k mileage, do I need to keep the max engine revs below certain rpm to take care of the new engine for a long term..Some of the blogs I saw, mentioned try to keep the speec below 100kmh..

It is really up to you. One of the reasons to keep rpm low during the first 1k is because the engine has not been run in yet. But as I mentioned before, according to service center, it has, hence no need to take worry about rpms and changing engine oil for the first 1k..

[I]
Actually that’s a common practice since last time for most of us who owned older cars or bought cars where it needed to be run in at 1k. Nowadays all the new cars come already run in so that old practice is no longer necessary but if you read car forums/magazines, if you want the car engine to last long with no major problems, usually up to the first 10k don’t whack the rpm and go high speed. That’s what i’ve Done with all my cars and all my cars have gone up to 10 years plus with no major problems. Both jap/conti cars and also my proton.

Time to change my wipers. Hope this cures the blur blur sotong effect on my windscreen in the morning

Attached Image

Update... Nope.. Didn't cure.
The silicon coating is not really good at slow speed. Can't remove the dew fast enough.

hi all. il be a proud owner of a hr-v very soon. i heard the 2016 version had many niggling problems, hows the 2017 ones? has honda done any improvements on them?

btw anyone can share a link on the topic of going "max rev/speed" during breaking in your new car. so far my google searches came up saying you need to keep it within the revs and speed limit.

Entering 60km mileage. Loud car noise when over 100 km/h. Definitely not from the tyres or wind. Any idea?

I am referring to the latest Honda GST + Ramadhan + cash rebate promo (See Paultan for pricing list). The rm10K savings are quite tempting.

Planning to get HRV S-spec. And install 360 camera, with Grid lines when reversing.

Saw this video on Etoni fb's page (Kenwood)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=654y6Cm0Dyk

And also this video (Pioneer):

Etoni Facebook 360 camera head unit for HRV

Anyone has installed these head unit & camera? Which one is better and also cheaper?

Thanks

I didn't have the figures with me. But yeah the sides are covered. Mine was way back in late 2015 and I don't think the figures apply anymore. You can do some research on different places for an idea of the leather quality and cost. Can't help you out much more I'm afraid.

Hi, I'm here because of the GST-zero rated plus Ramadan promo. Planning to buy next year but this promo is really tempting.
Is V-spec really worth it over S-spec?

I remember seeing the latest rebate the Mugen one don't get as much discount as the V-Spec.. if the price Gap between the Mugen and V-spec is above RM3000 i think you can just easily get the aftermarket Mugen Kit yourself

I changed at 42K mileage to the same set of tyres for around RM 360/piece including alignment + balancing around last 2 weeks... a bit of discount from a friend. Loved the new set of tyres as compared to the stock Bridgestone Turanza tyres, much more quiet and supple.

Going to an appointment with Honda Glenmarie for checking of the noise mentioned earlier in V1. Will update later.

Oo, very similar. Mind explaining what sort of aeroplane noise you experienced? For me I'll be sending in for testing on end of this month to check some vibration noise from the entertainment console in the middle, front absorber noise + squeaking noise in the dash at driver side.

Hmm, right now I'm exploring whether to get a non-slip for my touch&go that i used to put on my previous car dashboard. Can't find a good 1 in local supermarket like Aeon or Tesco.

Thinking to get back side mirror sunshade specially for HRV. I assume can get those from acc shop?

A friendly reminder when getting car dash cam.. please take out your sdcard and verify if the video is clear in a PC/laptop after you install.. do not rely on the tiny screen on the back of the dashcam..
Just installed my dashcam from Sh@rty 5 yesterday.. and found that the video is so damn pixelated and blurry.. very damn potong stim seriously for this kind of video quality.. initially wanna buy the Xiaomi one but end up getting because it looked soo nice in the tiny screen and was highly recommended.. the uncle somemore susah payah help me install the wiring to make everything looked neat and tidy.. Sh@rty 5 said wanna help me check if his own unit got such behavior..

How much? Anyway, I feel this shop charge slightly above average price for car accesories. I installed my carpet out there before.

Signed the loan agreement today. Salesman at West Star MRR2 said no more HRV stock until September. Not sure if facelift will be launched in July knowing that SST will be introduced in Sept.

Took S grade. Thinking of upgrade to full leather seat. Is 3K for Pecca is a reasonable price? Ask my friend at Honda said can possibly get 1.5K at DK Leather but need to check on Monday. Anyone has experience with this?

Anyone encounter this?

There is a crack at the bumper, usually it is small, later on the crack becomes longer due to that area is like a Plastic weld line.
Mine I use 5min epoxy to glue it back.

If you see yours got, don't ignore it.

Probably happen during parking hit the stopper stone

I use Eco mode when driving for economy...meaning driving about 2k rpm, release accelerator going down hill etc

But if normal driving 2~3.5K rpm, better no one ECO mode.

Normal driving I can get 13.5km/l
Saving petrol driving:16km/l
Saving petrol driving plus Eco mode 18km/l

But saving petrol driving make other ppl angry lol...drive like snail

1. Car registration card with wrong home address
2. Insurance with wrong driver name and wrong home address
3. Honda booklet and warranty information with wrong name and address

seriously not acceptable rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
just like register your child to wrong parents and wrong house..

For wrong home address, can we escalate it to the placed we bought the car? I think they can ammend it. I got a wrong address too, didnt noticed it (house number only got mixed up) when we get the documents.

Honda SC will never do anything that is not their own so you need to install it yourself OR you can get it done by your local kedai abang and pay them around RM10 - RM20 but the installation is so easy I think you can finished it in less than 10 minutes and then use that money to buy yourself a large McDs french fries.

I got myself the 70Mai dashcam, bought it for around RM190.00. For a budget dash cam, no complains for this and the design is proper enough and not intrusive. There is no need for your to splice any wires, it's all plug and play and it derives the power source from your 12v socket. No worries about voiding warranty and stuffs because you can just easily remove everything before sending it in for warranty claim.

You interact with the dash cam via a wireless connection through an app downloadable from the website (iOS and Android supported).

I remembered someone installed both front and back in his AE86 and he posted a video for it as well.

By the way, what do you mean by "parking mode"?

Nope, it does not. It only starts to record when your car is ignited. I am not sure if there is any 3rd party dash cam out now that supports continuous recording but I know that BMW's does that but also only for "events" (ie. if moving object or force is detected).

For the feature you are looking for, you need a dash cam that has that kind of battery that will store electricity power and it's not going to come cheap. Even your conventional dash cam that uses a capacitor instead of LiPo will costs you up to RM500.

Mine is E spec as well, got it installed before taking over the keys. I upgraded the entertainment console as well (Honda certified) so when I shift to reverse gear, even though my entertainment console is switched off it will automatically show the reverse camera screen and the reverse camera also shows my wheel rotation(typical green and red lines).

Overall it is good enough for my needs as I did install other 3rd party camera before on my other cars it is as good/standard to me lah. It should depend on your needs, if the Honda OEM doesn't meet your requirement then get it installed outside. Warranty void may be because you intend to touch the wiring.

Found already dashcam for my car.
Need those parking mode.

Many korean brand dashcam have parking mode recording
Brand like BlackVue, Thinkware , iRoad.

But the price is usually above 1k.

Make sure what you ordered is what you get. Like any customization/upgrade requested should be there and functioning. Paperwork, contact details all should be correct. Congrats on new car. biggrin.gif

Wanted to buy a HRV before SST comes. Been visiting showrooms, and called up the bigger show rooms. Anyone know of any dealers who have ex-stock before SST comes along? Thanks Bro.

RE: New HRV - this will come in Sep, but they allow booking (RM500) which is refundable.

Hi All, need some help here.
My hrv 3 years old and when speed at 60km/h (no matter accelerate or decelerate), I can hear the whining sound coming from gearbox. This happen since i got the new car and the sound become louder after 2 years. USJ SC replace the gearbox for me few months ago but it doesn't fix completely as the sound still there, just not that loud. SC told this is 'normal' and they show me another car that also having same issue. I cannot accept that as the whining sound like causing by a bad bearing in the gearbox( i had this similar problem from my old car) and it's really annoying.
I would like to check with all bro here, if you faced or facing the same issue and what could be the fix?

I want to check what is the wiper size for HR-V. I asked around and some seller said 24 - 16 and some said 26 - 18.

I cannot measure it myself since the car is with my parents. Was planning to buy from online since can get cheaper price.

If someone has already change and compare/measure the original size, please do share.

How much does it cost to change at SC? I've been using Bosch Clear Advantage for my other cars and so far it is performing well. No issue even after a year. A pair generally cost around RM 40.

Seriously? Yesterday my sister went to booked RS Passion Red too. SA told us it is price around RM120k only. Impossible priced same with CRV la..
As he asked my sister to apply loan, told us to apply for rm120k loan if full.

New facelifted HR-V have only 3 variants, E,V and RS.
compare to previous model, S,E,V.

RS having 2 special colors, White and Passion Red.
SA not mention much about the what kind of white is that, but definitely Passion Red is the one which we saw in Pauline website.

SA keep highlighting us the Honda Lanewatch and Auto-hold function for handbrake, saying RS have this 2 functions taking over from CRV high spec.
Others features still unknown.

Yes. When i help my sis to know more about the new features from facelift model. I thought CTBA is included...manatau....

I think Honda Sensing is kind of expensive still, maybe because it is still new. Need more supplier to source that in cheaper price..

Honda HRV Thailand not having Honda Sensing also right?

According to him, he said those who ordered HRV during this tax holiday which are out of stock (to make way for facelift) are transferred from E spec to E spec and from V spec to V spec given the customer agree to transfer...

If that so, facelift E and V are the same with current E and V for the pricing.

Probably only RS able to get the Civic led headlamps? not sure.. smile.gif

Probably have kot. The SA said he not sure also, just can confirm RS have that headlamp.

+Honda Lanewatch
+Auto Hold Handbrake (once you untied your seat belt, auto hold will trigger for you)
+18inches rims (new design)
+New Color

SA told us that RS is just few thousand differences compare to V.

Dear owners... any tips to take care of the semi leather seats for the V spec? Don't really like the sight of the leather seat cracking and so on ... is it possible to replace it?

will keep an eye and ears for this...
right now new car already got issue with brake pedal... while braking on a normal drive, if hit bumps/pothole, the pedal pushed back abit.. like braking with uneven brake disc. not acceptable for a new car....
anyone got such issue?
*
I also having same issue. I though is normal. Then I need to check with SC next service.
And 1 thing will be the car not comfort while in highway, even speed only 110-120, the absorber like not function well, no absorb at all.

I'm facing the same issue as well. The brake pedal indeed does push back after going through pot holes, or sometimes when going though bumps(sharp bumps) downhill (like parking lot).

I have talked to the SC during my 10K service, but they said I need to make appointment separately for this.

Looking for one hrv
But do U think is worth to get a V spec 2016 25k mileage v warranty ? Rm95k otr.

Or tahan and wait for new one.

But I worry the price a lot higher
And I urgently need a car

One more question, is hrv really light and noise maker? Lol heard a lot complaint about wind noise or dashboard noise

Hi guys, have any of you hack your headunit to support apple car play? I know there's a workaround to enable mirroring, but i'm looking for specifically Apple Car Play functionality

I didn't see any button to update firmware as well, anyone knows how to update? perhaps can enable car play with firmware update

last but not least, if its not possible to do it with current headunit, any recommendation on brand/type to replace it?

THANKS!

i think it should be around 85k now for market price..definitely not 95k...
try bargain further, you can easily check the car listing price at some popular websites right?
pretty sure it's not 95k for V spec...as the recent discounts...you can get a brand new one for about RM108k thereabout...

Any Silver color owners here? I am interested to see if it's better if paired with silver rims or black colored rims...

Thanks in advance!

Anyone know when the facelifted HR-V coming out? The new headlights seems very "garang" and better sporty look than previous model.

Any idea on the price range? E to RS

If is display unit still acceptable.
If test drive unit then really no worth.
I not sure 16 inch rim will more comfort compare to 17 inch rim?

An agent told me new HRV would be starting at 118k? Why suddenly jumped so high?
Then Hybrid would be 120k+ and RS would be 130K+. If those prices are legit that is abit ambitious for HRV isnt it lol

Even after SST Civic would still be cheaper and a way better buy. People can even opt for CX3 with that RS pricing doh.gif

But its said that RS will be having paddle shifters drool.gif

I have reported on this issue with Honda over the phone last week, and they checked it during along with the 20k service yesterday.

What they have done for that particular issue is tighten under carriage bolt/nut & suspension. Will have to closely monitor it before I can finally conclude it is fixed.

second hand car dealer taught me to check..check all the seats and see if the bolts/nuts got any evidence being removed...because usually if kena remove means high chance got kena flood before....

Went to SC for checking my front asbsorber. Front absorber making knocking sound over bump. Next week going to change only front left absorber set including mounting. Asked the Honda guys if it is okay to change only 1 side, he said its okay. I bet if the car warranty already expired, they will ask me to change both side. Or is it okay to change only 1 side? And i request them to change the middle cabin lamp set, not working if set in the middle setting.

This is normal according to SC as the brake clamp release because I've faced this issue if I parked my car with the head facing downwards on a slope.

I just said check and have a look only, if got problem, i will visit on weekday to solve. but still reject by them.

Seems like this is quite normal for SC nowadays which is quite annoying, even for Mazda too.. usually they dont check on weekends, only weekdays..

The plastic knocking sound is endless, already going to be 3rd time the SC trying to rectify. Each time they fix it the sound will re-appear after 1 month. Worst case the sound will appear from different area from the dashboard. rclxub.gif

this is the worst ever facelift step done in Honda Malaysia, teased for months and still continue teasing. Facelift CX3 teased later than HR-V also on the road awhile. Furthermore, this HR-V facelift only keep teased and promoting the RS version, and looked at the media preview on the E-spec, it still using the old ugly tailight. This is really disappointing. No Honda-sensing, no AE-B, no sunroof, i think no apple car play as well...

Even Honda Malaysia facebook page reply to customer said "There is no news about that yet. Kindly stay tuned to our official website: www.honda.com.my and social media platforms for more updates. Thank you.". This is really funny that as an official page give a such response to customer inquiry.

Folks...

Plan for a HRV for my wife, did browse through couple of post earlier and most was to knocking sounds/noises complain.

Before pay for booking fees, is there a major engine/transmission for HRV that is horrendous to deal with?

Cheers guys....

What petrol should my hrv be using ? Ron 95 or 97?

Is it okay to mix different petrol companies? Usually use BP and Caltex but mix with Shell is fine?

Asking on behalf. Thanks in advance

Did anyone here have issues with the orange brake warning light coming on?

It came on twice, and went off, each time I restart the car. Not sure what is causing this.

The things which have gone wrong with this car (Since Mar 2016) 66k km

i) Rear Axle replaced twice
ii) Engine dies off when going up car park ramp at slow speed, rectified after multiple visit to SC, replaced EGR Valve.
iii) Noise from front, back and dashboard, ongoing rectification
iv) Orange Brake Warning Light comes on and off.

Ya, I got it fixed finally. Rear axle was changed but the noise persisted. Went to Sumber Auto at Sect 13, PJ. Took them 3 working days to fix it. Was told it was due to the assembly of the boot to the car roof. The Service Adviser that handled my car was Chan. You can try to call him and ask.

That's the standard rate.
Your RM2,000 sum insured for replacing windscreen should include the cost of the tinting. If RM2,000 is just for windscreen then you need to add extra $$$ for the cost of re-tinting just the windscreen alone.

Reason for the delay is not gov pricing bullshit.
It's the problem with tyre supplier (Continental).

Thanks for the reply.. . I tot my battery can last for today, trying to push my luck, nope, couldn't start this morning, after did a jumper, the Ebrake wouldn't work, so cannot move the car.

So had to call Bateriku and all they had was Amaron Go battery. Paid RM220 for everything. But when start, half the errors are still there, lucky the Ebrakes worked even thought go faulty display. But brake hold not functioning. Call Honda Service center, all close today. But after driving slowly for 10mins, the error light cleared up one by one.

Shouldn't have waited until too late.

No idea, SA still not giving a clear launch date.

Last time said November, but now November going to end.

I have a feeling that it is going to launch at end of Dec 2018 to Jan 2019. before CNY.

The preview of the new HRV in KLIMS2018 is showing the interior is in partially white, dark grey leather wrap. A little turn down... sad.gif

That one of course not..... UNLESS.. you mod the tray and put huge batteries inside, or, during installation, they shorted the terminals and causes damaged to the Electrical and Electronic parts....or, you change to wet type battery and the acid water kena the wires and damaged it... You know what I mean right.

If your car seems like a bit difficult to start, quickly go battery shop check the battery.

Problem like me I left it until battery Kong, so the car sensors also went haywire. The Ebrake also refuse to disangaged. After warm up for 5mins, Ebrake could be released, but most sensors still error. Lucky all OK after 10min of driving (slow!)

If you no time then just call those mobile battery services like Batteriku. They can come to your workplace or house to change it.
And they work until mid nite.

3.What is the warranty coverage for the 12V battery?
For detailed Terms and Conditions, please refer to your Warranty and Service Booklet.
Important notice: Warranty will be applicable if regular preventive maintenance is performed as per required intervals by any of Honda Authorised Dealers.

5.What is the warranty period for the replacement Spare Parts on my vehicle?

"According to a report by Berita Harian, car companies in Malaysia are unable to provide official pricing for certain models as they have yet to receive the approval from a government body.

Among the affected models include the Proton X70, which is slated to make its official launch debut on December 12. The SUV isn’t the only one either, as the Honda HR-V RS revealed in July 2018 has yet to be given an official price, although Honda Malaysia is currently accepting bookings for the B-segment crossover.

The list also includes Toyota models like the Rush and Vios, as well as from other makes, with just estimated pricing being made available for now.

The government body in question is comprised of various government ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Royal Malaysian Customs Department and Road Transport Department (JPJ). "

For Malaysia spec, all variants of HRV are in 2WD.

CVT is the transmission technology, Continuously Variable Transmission.

maybe honda is difficult to set the price
hrv is 1.8 (torque 172)
but x70 is 1.8 turbo (torque 285)
both price almost same

look at the spec, the lowest spec in x70 is very attraction

Hopefully the new hrv is priced around the same as x70 then there will be a neck-to-neck comparison.

I think the power figure need to factor in the weight difference, as it is quite big, almost 400 kg.

anyone owns the Ruse Black Metallic color here? does it look purplish during the day time? are you regret after getting ruse black color or you are actually loving it biggrin.gif

there are only 5 colors to choose from: red, silver, white, grey? (modern steel) and black? (ruse black).

to me the real black color is the one available in thailand - crystal black pearl. too bad it is not available in malaysia facelift hr-v.

I have a Ruse Black Metallic HR-V. Personally I love the colour purple, so the purplish tinge is perfect for me (I didn't want a solid black). However, I find it a watermark magnet - probably the norm for dark colours... so if you do get one, give it extra tender loving care and maintenance. biggrin.gif

i guess all dark color tones are watermark magnet. I know this rush black metallic sure will look more like black color in shady or low light condition but i would like to know whether it would just look like full purple color under direct sunlight?

If so, the difference between E and V spec is not as much as the previous S spec to E spec. E spec has LED taillight, cruise control, paddle shift, side curtain airbags... thumbup.gif

wonder how much would be the prices for facelift models this year.

Yes, But I will go for V spec as it is full leather seat compare to half leather seat which is very weird.

And that 7 inches screen (.2 inches different), could be fitted the Android Auto/Apple Car Play with new interface. while E Spec having previous gen interface (maybe)

I just got my HRV brochure just now.

The SA told me that the HRV RS version price is quit steep (RM120+). Close to base model CRV. I am now considering 2017/2018 CRV which now been sold around that HRV V spec. Bigger and better in every way.

I think you can only consider second hand CRV because 2018's CRV are all sold out because of the tax holiday. Or maybe you have to go to each dealers to search for old stocks.

I think HRV RS will be priced at around RM120k~RM127k.

I am making the decision for my sister between base spec CRV and HRV RS. But the obvious downside is, HRV RS having Ivory leather seats, which is a big No already.

Yeap. Because last week I drove my friends CRV 2017, it's feel better in overall experience compared with my other friends' HRV 2018.

The price of CRV 2017 (mileage below 40k km) now is more or like a new HRV 2019 line up. Have to think it more, hehe.

Yes mate, I'm thinking the second hand CRV at the price point.

But I'm sorry, why Ivory leather seats is no good? Is that because of easy to accumulate dirt and stain?

Yes, because that color is dirt magnet. Usually our jeans will stain the seats.

usually the wrinkles part will be the first to get darken.. sad.gif

I just got price for HRV this morning (7am from Honda SA). Before their launch today.

Hrv V Rm119k without insurance
Hrv Rs Rm124k without insurance

Maybe I'll consider to cancel my booking after all. Just to give Honda a thought with their price. Just like Apple learned their lesson this year.
I put my booking for RS at Julai 2018.

Better change your battery. Since many HRV owner have problem to start their engine so sudden. It turn out to be battery already kong. Even with 60% batt level.

VGR steering, 18" wheels, garnishes and bodykit with black bits for RS is just not worth spending an extra 6k over the V model and you still only get 4 speakers for whatever reason.

If they added basic Honda Sensing, an extra 2 speakers and keep the white interior trim then it would be a somewhat reasonable proposition for 124k.

Yo fellow HRV's owner,

Anyone have experienced auto light sensor faulty? Is it covered under Honda warranty? If not how much will it cost me to repair/replace?

Story: The auto light indicator on dashboard comes blinking, then the auto light function is off meaning I'll have to turn on the headlight manually.

60% is not consider as good, which should be in state nearto critical zone, your battery will be in shorter life, will not last longer, change before you cannot start.
your service adviser is good as he/she inform the 60% level.

12.7v - 12.8v while engine not start is the best.

I don't understand why they cannot put in a feature to warn drivers that they have to change battery soon. What's so difficult?

Funny though for my car remote(keyless), they is an alarm to warn me of low battery on the dashborad. I changed to my spare remote, alarm is gone. Use back the other one, the alarm in ON again. Nice.

Hello all,

Can I know if anyone feels any difference between using a 16 inch wheel vs a 17 inch wheel?

I actually am thinking of downgrading my 17 inch wheel to a 16 inch.

1 reason is one. Of my rims have a crack and to buy ori rims.. I can actually get full set of ori HRV 16 inch wheel with tyres for 5xx

And of cos. 16 inch wheel much cheaper la..

Any advise?

Not at all bro? Like going over small holes or uneven roads? Had the impression that fatter tyres would absorb some of the vibration.. Head from someone who upgraded from 16 to 17 say that +- 80km per tank lesser after upgrading.. That's y I'm considering..

Fuel consumption is the same. Your mileage indicator will not be accurate anymore bcos the indicator is calibrated for 16in. That's why +-80km difference.

I think you need to take into consideration what type of 17inch rim and also the tyre profile used. if its within the tolerance, there should be no change in the speedometer reading and the FC. it will only meant that the 17inch/tyres set is much more heavier than the original 16inch/tyres set.

I don't think the FC reading is needs manual calibration due to different rim sizes. if you say resetting it by say 1) unplugging the car battery or 2) use the average of a few fuel tank refills, then it makes more sense. usually option 2 is more viable.

I think you are confused with Mileage and speedometer indicator.

Mileage indicator measure distance travel.
Speedometer measure speed.

careful when driving over water, the engine cover clip below the engine will came off and it is a known problem. only way is to replace the clips which is expensive or tie with cable tie. this applicable to all Honda cars with engine cover

I was told at one of the shop that aftermarket head unit does not support LaneWatch camera.

Sad day for me, when start engine sounded rough, send for service and check, auto tensioner problem.

Out of warranty for 2 months. I tot warranty 5 years. But they said auto tensioner warranty 3 years only.

Didn't repair as the cost is going to be somewhere below RM2k. Parts itself gonna cost RM1. 6K.

Dem..dunno how now. Hope can last a few more years.

why got certain components only has 3 years warranty?

btw, did you do some research on why the auto tensioner problem happens in HRV? yours is which year?

Mine is 2016 version, the last ones using the 16inch rims.

Seriously I ask the technician, he tell me, eventually, ALL the cars using this same engine will have this problem.

So if you feel that your engine starting is a bit rough sound, straight away send it for replacement. Dun be like me, thinking it is 5 year warranty, so wait for the sound to get louder.

Anyway, next week I going to the dealer I buy the car from and see if the part still can get warranty.

If you do a search, this belt auto tensioner is a common problem for Honda cars. I see in FB for HRV got change outside shop.

You bought a good car with a rock solid engine, but doesn't mean it won't break. LoL

I've booked appointment with the dealer I bought the car from.
They check in computer and say I regularly service at other Honda dealer, why me why not ask them to check the car. Some more ask me who my salesman was, they wanna ref to him
Later after a bit of a quarrel, they booked me for next month near Raya. Purposely do that like wanna take revenge on me because no service with them.
I think can kiss the warranty goodbye as it got state in the service book about belts and tensioner.

Actually, the tensioner bearing might be chipped, so from tik tik tut tut sound later will be grinding noise when the ball bearing breaks.
I spray Wd40 on all the pulleys and the sound disappears for a while. Few days later, noise come back. But I no spray as Wd40 no good for belts it seems.

Exactly, but later on, when severe wear, gonna make noise at any speed.

I will ask outside shop how much to fix it.

Anyone else here face issue with the electronic parking brake failure? My car just failed today at the petrol kiosk after refueling. Couldn't release the handbrake using the electronic push button; restarting the car didn't help either.

Took back to Honda SC and they confirmed that the parking break button is defective

The price of CRV 2017 (mileage below 40k km) now is more or like a new HRV 2019 line up. Have to think it more, hehe.

Test drove it last 2 weeks ago. Prefer it to the new RS or V-spec due to better acceleration and NvH. The hybrid will save you petrol in long run since I have a CRZ as well. Battery costs are now lower at 4k instead of 6k previously, no biggie...still cheaper than Merc's 110k.

Pity the interior looks cheapo although car is more expensive than V-spec. No LED headlights, leather seats, blind spot monitoring, apple carplay, electric driver seats, all which I now still enjoy on my Navara pick-up.

i also wonder why this HRV thread introduction is so half-assed, zero effort unlike the ones in perodua axia, x70, cx-5 threads and so on. like, at least showcase some specs and pics. if ts doesn't have the inclination to write better thread intro might as well pass it to other people who are willing to start the thread with ample information and pics like the other threads do.

Yeah it puzzles me as well. Although HRV is one of the best selling car in the country, there isn't much discussion /coverage in the forum. Maybe is due to the demographic of HRV owners who are generally not those who frequent an Internet forum. 😂

i also wonder why this HRV thread introduction is so half-assed, zero effort unlike the ones in perodua axia, x70, cx-5 threads and so on. like, at least showcase some specs and pics. if ts doesn't have the inclination to write better thread intro might as well pass it to other people who are willing to start the thread with ample information and pics like the other threads do.

Congrates! I think I got the car same time as you cause I remember your car was at the bay before mine.

The smart lock is good but want to ask, how come I have to press the button on the car handle several times to lock the car when the car was left idle for more than 3 min with engine off.

Yeah I checked with Honda, must replace else cannot claim warranty for the fuel pump should it fail. If the SC doesn't have stock, please do not wait until the next service interval for replacement. If the fuel pump fails within this waiting period, you can bid farewell to your warranty claim.
