QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Mar 30 2022, 08:50 AM) I think you are underpaid. Maybe get some professional certification to upscale yourself while looking out for better opportunity. Do you have like some examples or suggestions what kind of certificate?I did have Data Analytics training certificate from a training provider & data consulting company prior joining the bank. QUOTE(NeoNoir @ Mar 30 2022, 01:17 PM) Your bonus is above average @ 3 months. I do agree that you should be earning higher but you also need to take note that you have only 2 years experience thus far - so it's tougher for companies to give u a huge bump in increment. Yup2... it's not actually about whether my age level at certain level i should be getting certain pay range. When I was 28, I had about 5 years experience, so was earning 70% more compared to what you are currently drawing at 3.2k. Understand it'll come down to experience years accumulated and the achievement/contribution that made, instead of the age factor. Maybe I had leave out some important info for you guys to take into consideration. For that 2 years period, i actually undergo 2 transition in term of reporting line. For 1 year I'm reporting to a VP rank manager. I've made a very good impression to this manager. Then for some reason my manager unable to continue. After that, I'm reporting directly to the department Head. Here's, the learning curve is very steep & the direction/guidance from the head is very minimal, as you know its a head department, don't have time at all. Hence majority of the time, I've been working independently thru all other stakeholders. Then this year comes new hire with AVP level which I'm reporting to currently. This manager is coming from non banking/finance industry. Been three months already, I'm still the one who providing the direction, fronting stakeholders engagement & leading the project. The new person just comes into the picture when need to present the updates in meetings which includes higher up. All the background work & coordination still been led by me, this manager will always just wait for my direction on how to proceed. Spent so much time explaining things to him/her, but this new manager still got confused with a lot of things & let other to resolve the issue instead of leading it. Seems like his/her project management skills is bit lacking. In addition to be very new to the banking industry. As i said above, I've made good impression to the 1st manager. But he/she is not around when I'm being converted to permanent, and i think department Head just see me as just an average level employee, not really seeing the true picture i guess. Feeling like the responsibility is not par with the pay I'm getting & previous contribution didn't being compensated fairly. What do you guys think? Wow...i wrote a lot! Haha |

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Jan 14 2019, 08:06 PM) 3 months notice period is normal nowadays. Mine is like that too. It is annoying when it comes to job hunting when recruiters just turns you down when they hear about that. Usually if got 3 month notice, when do you actually do the job hunting? send resign letter first then go for job hunting? |

I don't resign without a job, that is just too risky. You can find an employee that is willing to wait 3 months for you or they can buy you out. |

QUOTE(DAPMPBAMCAuto @ Mar 29 2022, 11:48 AM) Hi all... Wanna seek feedback whether I'm underpaid or undervalued by the managers & higher up. Bro PM me. I’m looking for someone with your skill setsBeen thinking long if should jump or not. Current department have high growth potential, just seems like they don't really value fresh talent with without many years of experience stacked up. Prefer to keep increase the department size by hiring mid level hire. Job Title : Perfrmance Mngmt/Reporting & Analytics Job Description : digital asset/products/channels daily, weekly, mthly MIS/reporting; web trffic analytics, inter-department project management, project/initiatives ROI projections & monitoring, acquisition prformnce Age : 28 Years spent in company : 2 years (1 year SLIM/GEES/Protégé program, then 8 mth contract due to hiring freeze during Covid lockdown, then convert to permanent for 6 mth now) Company : Bank Industry : Financial Tenure : Permanent Employment Level : Entry-level/Junior Experience before joining (years) : 0 Highest paper qualification/ education background : Bachelor Degree (one of STEM, highly technical) Location : Klang Valley Average Working Hours Per Week (incl lunch hours): 45 (but almost every day overtime till night) Monetary Payout Basic Salary + Fixed Allowance : RM2.9k Contractual Bonus (months): NA Performance, Variable Bonus & Commissions (months) : standard 3 months Benefits (where relevant) : Typical bank benefits *Wrong spelling & short form are intentional to minimise search engine tracking Since I'm from a technical & math background, i did outperform other colleagues in term of analytical skills (got several feedback from other colleagues & stakeholder), guiding others (more senior than me) on how to use some of the Business Intelligence tools, what kind of insights should be given etc. Heck, i even did several reporting process/task automation to expedite others BAU working time. Disappointed to hear they didn't count the experience & contribution during i'm in the contract position. Had i known earlier, I would've jump elsewhere to make my working time counted. Is this standard evaluation practiced at others comp, to not count contract position experience? |

QUOTE(MrTaxxi @ Apr 5 2022, 10:53 PM) Well it depends on individualSome think it is a ripoff, while some will say it is normal or the path to success But when you see the other part of the earth does not promote such culture you will start to feel they are ripping us off Nevertheless, come to the end I feel that it is because there are people willing to be ripped off that is causing this |
