i recently turned down a 27% increment jumpship as i don't want to jump from an established MNC company to a medium size company.

How much do you usually ask for after working in accounts for almost 2 years in the same company? Earning 3.1k now. I read you guys take 13th month into account to, meaning 3.1kx13=3.3k??

I do know accounts increment are not that much compared to other jobs. If jump ship can ask for 3.6? If sg can same? 😂😂

Honestly feel really underpaid.. and performance bonus not even one month salary even though I was one of top performers in the team lol. Should I jump? Feel like my street smarts are severely lacking.

I started of as a SW programmer when I was 24 and moved into a team lead role at 28. Entered product management at 30 , but i am an expat, so my experience might be different from local malaysians.

Hi all... Wanna seek feedback whether I'm underpaid or undervalued by the managers & higher up.
Been thinking long if should jump or not.

Current department have high growth potential, just seems like they don't really value fresh talent with without many years of experience stacked up. Prefer to keep increase the department size by hiring mid level hire.

Job Title : Perfrmance Mngmt/Reporting & Analytics
Job Description : digital asset/products/channels daily, weekly, mthly MIS/reporting; web trffic analytics, inter-department project management, project/initiatives ROI projections & monitoring, acquisition prformnce
Age : 28
Years spent in company : 2 years
(1 year SLIM/GEES/Protégé program, then 8 mth contract due to hiring freeze during Covid lockdown, then convert to permanent for 6 mth now)
Company : Bank
Industry : Financial
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level : Entry-level/Junior
Experience before joining (years) : 0
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Bachelor Degree (one of STEM, highly technical)
Location : Klang Valley
Average Working Hours Per Week (incl lunch hours): 45 (but almost every day overtime till night)

Monetary Payout
Basic Salary + Fixed Allowance : RM2.9k
Contractual Bonus (months): NA
Performance, Variable Bonus & Commissions (months) : standard 3 months

Benefits (where relevant) :
Typical bank benefits

*Wrong spelling & short form are intentional to minimise search engine tracking

Since I'm from a technical & math background, i did outperform other colleagues in term of analytical skills (got several feedback from other colleagues & stakeholder),
guiding others (more senior than me) on how to use some of the Business Intelligence tools, what kind of insights should be given etc.
Heck, i even did several reporting process/task automation to expedite others BAU working time.

Disappointed to hear they didn't count the experience & contribution during i'm in the contract position. Had i known earlier, I would've jump elsewhere to make my working time counted.
Is this standard evaluation practiced at others comp, to not count contract position experience?

Might sound cruel, but you are 28 earning less than 3k. Of course you are underpaid.

My tips is, spend some time to beautify and improve your CV and network, and start to just apply for jobs. Doesn't matter if it fails, doesn't matter if no response. You will get one and you will find out what's the market price for you.

You need to polish up your resume, I would also try not to mention SLIM/Protege because I know a lot of companies tend to have a certain bias to candidates in that program. Also instead of focusing on what you did, mention what you accomplished during that period, what was the outcome and what value you brought. All the best in your job search

My bad, forgot to mention once the yearly increment kicks in, my basic would be RM3.2 starting next month.

Thanks both for the advise & best wishes.
Ya, i kinda sense the bias towards SLIM/Protege candidates.
Understand some graduate from this program maybe lacking/poor quality.
But, they shouldn't generalise & put stereotypes, instead really evaluate each person's value & capability.
Noted..will improve my CV, and yes I do have few achievement up my sleeve.
Hopefully the hiring manager/HR will see it as promising & competent.

I think you are underpaid. Maybe get some professional certification to upscale yourself while looking out for better opportunity.

Your bonus is above average @ 3 months. I do agree that you should be earning higher but you also need to take note that you have only 2 years experience thus far - so it's tougher for companies to give u a huge bump in increment.

When I was 28, I had about 5 years experience, so was earning 70% more compared to what you are currently drawing at 3.2k.
