Definitely worth it if you don't plan to change your phone in the next two years.

used iPhone buyer nowadays also taking battery health as one of the main criteria in buying. i personally would not buy a used iPhone with battery health <90%.

Yeah, got asked that when selling my 8 Plus and X recently. Thankfully they were at 98% and 99% respectively.

Speaking from experience. I send my 93% iphone x with warranty to Machine few weeks back but changed my mind after i spoke to the person at Machines. Do try to reset your phone to see if the % goes up. Mine did, from 93% to 95% when i reset my phone when i was about to do battery replacement. In the end, i did not proceed.

I would say if your current battery is >90% don't bother changing. Yes you get the discount if you change now, but you pay rm129 for 10% drop. I rather wait till it drop to 80% then i pay full price to change and can stretch the phone even longer life. By that time, battery is possibly cheaper also.

But i plan to get new phone only when 5G is launched.

yes...agreed

nobody would really keen to buy a pre-loved phone with 80% battery health left if they have better choices

I dunno about you but I am very uncomfortable with my phone having all my data in the hands of someone else.

I would do a full backup to iTunes on PC then wipe the phone first.

They will erase all data before u sent it, disable find my iphone as well

Just found out that effective 17th December (which is today), Machines at Northpoint Mid Valley only accept by appointments, no more walk in... :-(
*
Too much of walk in until they cannot cope, that day i went in also full of people close to 4pm.

I see, my thinking is the service turn around time will be affected, imagine your iPhone suddenly can't turn on, you'll need to make an appointment where free slots normally will only be available in the next 2-3 days, then add another 7 days for their checking, repair etc..total will be around 10 days...

can only replace once for this program. what is your battery health? you can use your 3 months warranty to claim a replacement.

You are right about lack of batteries. Just made an appointment today for Friday and when I called machines to find out how long to replace the battery, they told me that they dont have batteries in stock, but I'll still have to go in to let them "diagnose" my phone to see if its eligible for a battery replacement. Following that, I'll have to fill in some request form for them to order the battery and I would then receive a call from them when it eventually arrives, head over to machines for the 2nd time and wait 4 hours to get the battery replaced.

I even tried apple support, and all they could offer me was, to cancel my appointment ( which I can do by myself) or provide me with the phone number's of other service providers ( which I can also do myself )

Completely agree with your statements about the so called premium sellers/authorised repair shops.

When everybody last minute this is what happens. Normally they do not have stock in hand because they are only aasp.. if u change it few months ago, you send in the morning and u will get it back before lunch.

No so much the issue of them not having batteries not in stock. Not too pleased I made an appointment, just to have to go in to fill up a form to order a battery before going in for a 2nd round to have it changed. Not really efficient.
