No wonder I can change it on the same day. My iPhone is out of warranty. Thanks for letting us know. This is great information.

Yes it will most of the time specially if you go machines. There are instances wherein they don't ask you to format or they don't format your phone but it will be best to backup and format/reset your phone before bringing it in.

Also screen protectors can be removed depends on where you go.. You can read some old pages on this thread on where they don't format/reset or remove the screen protector

I dunno about you but I am very uncomfortable with my phone having all my data in the hands of someone else.

I would do a full backup to iTunes on PC then wipe the phone first.

Yes that is what I did too. It would be advisable to wipe off your phone before going in. Save you all the worries that your data might be compromised.

Just found out that effective 17th December (which is today), Machines at Northpoint Mid Valley only accept by appointments, no more walk in... :-(

After reading this thread, I'm of the opinion that if my iPhone is anything before an 8 and i am ready to spend in the region of 150 RM, I better go to my trustworthy guy in lowyat plaza who does perfect repairs within the hour and at the best rates possible.

The apple warranty is useless here considering that the premium sellers/authorised repair shops provide the worst possible service, horrible wait times and any excuse to reject your device. If I have to wait any more than 2-3 hours without my phone, or if I am turned away due to lack of batteries, or I have to make an appointment days in advance (i checked and got some stupid error about email not recognised) - then honestly: "Apple, get your s**t together, I find your 'premium' branding to be a hoax and a joke in this country"

Edit: PS: I have a 6, a 6s and 2 SEs in my family, most of which need the battery replacement.

You are right about lack of batteries. Just made an appointment today for Friday and when I called machines to find out how long to replace the battery, they told me that they dont have batteries in stock, but I'll still have to go in to let them "diagnose" my phone to see if its eligible for a battery replacement. Following that, I'll have to fill in some request form for them to order the battery and I would then receive a call from them when it eventually arrives, head over to machines for the 2nd time and wait 4 hours to get the battery replaced.

I even tried apple support, and all they could offer me was, to cancel my appointment ( which I can do by myself) or provide me with the phone number's of other service providers ( which I can also do myself )

Completely agree with your statements about the so called premium sellers/authorised repair shops.

These little hitlers lord over us iPhone serfs like they're bestowing some massive favour upon us (ridiculous how I had to take a number with over an hours wait time at Machines @ the Curve, the last time I visited). no wonder i changed my daily runner to a huawei and couldn't be happier with the decision. Buy a phone thats less than 1/3rd the cost, equal build quality and features (or better) and don't give a rats ass about warranty since I got my trusty lowyat guy who does most major work within an hour.
