hmm can i8fangui monitor GPU temp?...it says might lock up pc so being the chicken that i am didt enable that option...u using it to monitor gpu temp?

man thats like double my price now...no regrets getting ye'olde model xps hahaha

i have 76 proceses running when idle :swt...eiraku how much do u have?
*
Running without Admin privileges, it can monitor CPU, RAM and GPU temp... Only HDD monitoring needs Admin privies, so yeah I'd say use I8kfanGUI... icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm running 50 processes on idle, right after boot... Even with additional stuff like Avedesk, AutoHotKey and Samurize running... thumbup.gif

I was hoping for a worldwide release.  Noticed that Dell went with the 8400M GS?  I wonder why they opted out of using the 8400M GT..
*
It's the heat... Not easy to mount a 8400M GT in a thin silver door wedge without turning it into a SCALDING HOT thin silver door wedge... I reckon there's just not enough air circulation space within the M1330 to handle it... icon_rolleyes.gif

Tried configuring an Inspiron 1520 too, a typical 2GHz C2D, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD, 8600GT (Dell DOES listen to stuff people post on IdeaStorm after all), 3 Yrs CC rig goes to around RM6.5k++, converted... icon_rolleyes.gif

It's out guys... Starting at RM5199 for lowest spec... Get it while it's hot (or wait till it's cheap!)... icon_rolleyes.gif

As for me, 2 USBs are a killer, even with everything else... M1210 or bust for me!

This page is now reporting RM4,599 as a promotional price, excluding delivery.

Seems that Dell is in the middle of fixing up the site to properly reflect the XPS M1330's pricing and whatnot. smile.gif

I think that's the one without the LED backlight or something. That should explain the lower price

Hmm. The LED-backlit display costs an additional $150 USD at the Dell US site the last I checked. I'm wondering if there will be any real-world advantages to using the LED-backlit display. The video 'review' that's out right now gives very few concrete details about the XPS M1330's actual performance. Battery life has been left out of the picture entirely.

Well, check out the "slim & light" tags... AND the sub megapixel camera... It's the premium screens alright, but I guess pricing's all screwed up...

Added on June 27, 2007, 2:24 amChanged the Thread description... Rejoice, M1210 users, we are officially using a "classic" XPS, the one that started it all (in Malaysia anyway)... icon_rolleyes.gif

this issue is because of the bookmark toolbar....
it will shake up and down if you have no entry in the bookmark toolbar...
disable the bookmark toolbar or u add something to it...

What tool do you use for analysis? just now i test, temperature rose to 87degC while in air-cond room (24degC).
I've call dell and they said idle temperature is ok but they not sure about temperature during 100% loading. as they didn't use any tool to test their system. but they said that if i'm not satify they will send an engineer to check. they will open my xps to check the fan but it hard for me to say yes....
what's your opinion? should i call them to check or leave it? unsure.gif

I use I8kfanGUI to monitor the temp, but analysis... Hmm... But 87 (IF that's your CPU temperature) is quite abnormal, mine never went beyond 75 even while playing STALKER or Far Cry... And my graphics card temp never exceed 78 or so as well...

Something's wrong, and if Acer lappies are anything to go by, extra heat --> busted motherboard... Get them to exchange your M1210 for a new one, quote the "14-Day Total Satisfaction Policy" that they have, wherein if you are not satisfied BY ANY MEANS with the Dell product you just bought, you can request a FULL REFUND or A REPLACEMENT UNIT within 14 Days OF RECEIVING THE PRINTED INVOICE (usually a few days after unit delivery)... Demand your right! thumbup.gif

If you got a lemon, it's very, very unlikely that you'll get 2 in a row... icon_rolleyes.gif

True, it's just a tad more muscular then the sleek M1330... thumbup.gif

Well, UAC's there for a reason IMHO (I've been using Ubuntu Linux for quite a bit, so quite used to prompts coming up on the screen for admin actions) and I'd rather not turn it off (for one, most viruses do stuff that need admin access, so UAC should just block them)... I just make sure that the screen doesn't black out when it does come out... icon_rolleyes.gif
