does this look melted?
Well, that ain't melted... It seems it's like that to show the fact that it's original (note the exposed metallic threads)... I also thought that mine was burnt or something, but when my brother's VGN-C25G/G (that's the Sony VAIO C to the rest of us) came with the same, hole-in-the-middle Vista label (laminated over summore), I got to thinking that maybe it's just made like that, for some unknown reason...

Freaky, ain't it?

AHHHHH still cant find a solution for my xps heat disipator...duno wanna get notepal p1 or the evercool magic.....both review from my frens say good....but i only have budget for one......maybe u guys who are xps users also can feedback??
Notepal P1? I have it, am using it... And between that and the Evercool magic (
which is completely unusable with the XPS M1210, BTW... Different exhaust grille design), I'd say...
Get a Zalman NC-1000... It might be more expensive, but MAN is it more effective...

The Notepal P1 isn't quite compatible with the M1210 (the two fans don't line up well to the M1210's exhaust ports... A little adjusting helps, but in the end your M1210's dangerously off-centre...

I'm still keeping it because of its size (compact), the fact that it works (somewhat, keeps my M1210 at 45-55C, most of the time, should be lower with the Zalman) and
the fact that I just don't have the money for the NC1000...
Try shopping for other alternatives.... There's this one type of chapalang cooler made out of a thin aluminium slab with three USB powered fans, looks effective enough and costs around RM50...
