does this look melted?
*
Well, that ain't melted... It seems it's like that to show the fact that it's original (note the exposed metallic threads)... I also thought that mine was burnt or something, but when my brother's VGN-C25G/G (that's the Sony VAIO C to the rest of us) came with the same, hole-in-the-middle Vista label (laminated over summore), I got to thinking that maybe it's just made like that, for some unknown reason... sweat.gif

Freaky, ain't it?

Notepal P1? I have it, am using it... And between that and the Evercool magic (which is completely unusable with the XPS M1210, BTW... Different exhaust grille design), I'd say... Get a Zalman NC-1000... It might be more expensive, but MAN is it more effective... thumbup.gif

The Notepal P1 isn't quite compatible with the M1210 (the two fans don't line up well to the M1210's exhaust ports... A little adjusting helps, but in the end your M1210's dangerously off-centre... sweat.gif

I'm still keeping it because of its size (compact), the fact that it works (somewhat, keeps my M1210 at 45-55C, most of the time, should be lower with the Zalman) and the fact that I just don't have the money for the NC1000... cry.gif

Try shopping for other alternatives.... There's this one type of chapalang cooler made out of a thin aluminium slab with three USB powered fans, looks effective enough and costs around RM50... icon_rolleyes.gif

porkchop,

im using Pacific Breeze, i dont know where u can get one but if u can tho ill say go grab one. I got to say im impress with the performance. Have 2 speed, low for silent, high for gaming. As u can see it's small and light, easy to bring along with you and it suits any size of laptop. It's cheap too.

Well then, get the NotePal P1 as it is really compact... But remember, smaller size = lower cooling capacity (most of the time anyway)... And the pacific breeze thingy is another option, though I haven't seen it sold anywhere in LowYat yet... sweat.gif

What can I say, it helps... But it's not necessary... As long as you prop the back of your M1210 up to improve air circulation, everything ought to be okay... We're not talking about overheatable Acers here... icon_rolleyes.gif

yikes...if ur playing game or something gpu or cpu heavy 60-70c is quite normal...even with cooler id imagine the temperature wouldnt drop much...maybe a few degrees?

EDIT: question...how do u all clean ur lcd?...mine like got tiny dots i think due to sneezing, but a already avert my face away from lcd when i sneeze so i guess those might be tiny airborne droplets lol...just use a dry/moist cloth to wipe or need something special?...i use the cloth use to clean glasses one lol...not very effective at cleaning the dots tho

AzeL got it right. It wont drop as much, but it helps especially for longevity of the laptop itself. If we expected to use our lappy more than 2 years at least, we shud take care of it from today especially the heat issues.

to answer ur question, i use Rosewill lcd cleaner with micro fiber cloth i bought somewhere in campus. The brand is 3M.
