eh? But i think Cathay Dragon was good based on my past flight with them. And i don't think they are still the budget airline when they were Dragon Air la..

Their uniform is ok what, all like knee length. If theirs are short, then what is AirAsia? haha

Nope sadly it wasn't a fully good experience, as I described it. Budget or not, even AA gives you sufficient ventilation.

Fortunately or unfortunately, this FA's skirt was pretty short - it was definitely above knee length wink.gif and as the FA climbed onto the aisle seat's pedestal to push the luggage further into the compartment (she had to lean forward), I could almost see her underpants from the split of her skirt rolleyes.gif a lot of passengers turn to look. Generally i have no issue with that others want to wear and I'm not one of conservative mind. But know when it's too much since there are families and children at the seat area where she climbed up the pedestal numerous times.

If your idea of fun and excitement is to stand in the queue for hours for popular attractions then sure, weekends are better than weekdays.

anyone traveled with a kid before via rented car on these cities Sapporo/Otaru/Asahikawa/Noboribetsu/Hakodate (pickup from Sapporo and drop off at Hakodate) then take Shinkansen to Tokyo?

Couldn't make out which is the better option, for a 14 days trip, whether to rent a car for the first 7 days and JR pass for the next 7 or just 14 days JR pass?
The JR pass is essentially used for the Hakodate-Tokyo shinkansen and Tokyo to Maihama (Disneyland), better off to get the single trip tickets?

Tokyo / Sapporo/Otaru can take rail.

Asahikawa/Biei/Furano/Noboribetsu and return car at Hakodate - I prefer to rent car for this route.

Wow... poor ventilation can cause those who are claustrophobic to feel even worst. This also means that the aircraft was poorly maintained. Another reason to avoid this airline.

Right on that... it makes sense why no blanket and pillow were provided at our seat. Not sure if the others are the same or that we're probably just unlucky to fly with this poorly maintained aircraft sad.gif

Karuizawa or Nikko or Kawagoe is worth more for a day trip from Tokyo? hmm.gif

Kawagoe is nearer but seems like the main attraction is only the Kurazukuri Street.

Nikko is quite a distance away but more attractions to see.

Karuizawa is quite a distance away as well but not so much of tourists compared to Nikko.

Nikko for Day trip?? No, no. Suggest if you're planning to do Nikko, at least 2D 1N. There's a lot to see/ visit there.

Yes you can go day trip at Kawagoe. Unfortunately imo it's a bit too touristy (then again, aren't we all tourists) and there wasn't much to do/ shop there. Been there once and that's already good enough. If you have spare time and didn't know what to do - you can give it a shot, as you may have a different perspective and the place could have changed compared to 2 years ago.

the park close late, so it shouldn't be a problem to cover everything within a day

If you don't mind not visiting any of the cafes/restaurants or miss most of the side shows, it's possible to tackle all of the main rides without an express pass during a weekday. Do study the map and think about what you wish to do. The park starts closing between 9 to 10 (depending on season)... so you don't really have much time to just relax and watch people.

If you want a day trip, do look at Enoshima and Kamakura. Karuizawa is more of a retirement home for the rich where there are lots of parks and nature for you to explore. Of course there is an outlet there if you wish to shop.

I went during the weekdays, and I think I cover most of the stuffs I wanted to check without express card.

Do take note that there'll be an extra charge of 1000 Yen tax for departure from Japan starting January 7th.

Visitors to Japan will have to pay a 1,000 yen (S$12.50) levy when leaving the country from Monday, Japanese media reported.

Japan will start collecting the 1,000 yen departure tax for each person leaving the country by aircraft or ship regardless of nationality, the Japan Times reported on Tuesday.

Under the relevant law, which was enacted in April last year, the levy will be collected each time an individual leaves the country, and comes on top of airfare, ship fare and travel fees.

People leaving Japan within 24 hours of their transit entry and children under two years old will be exempted from the departure tax, the report said. Those with tickets purchased and issued before Jan 7 will also be exempted, it added.

Specifically, the revenue will be used to set up facial recognition gates at airports for speedier immigration procedures, while also promoting the use of multilingual information boards and helping to introduce more cashless payment terminals for public transportation.
