Anyone tried installing astro go on Sony kd65x7500f?

Already side load keyboard and oriental app. During login, it till direct me to a page in web browser to login. After key in all the info, it will just stuck at the browser. Seems like the browser fail to redirect back to the astro go app.

Could it be the browser problem? Need to side load another browser?

Thanks
*
from my exp with sharp androidtv which shud be same as yours...

what android version... 6, 7, 8?

what browser used?

can try other browser - puffin or chrome.

should work.

if necessary, may be better to ask other users of same tv in the right thread.

If I'm not mistaken should be android 7.

The browser is the one come default with Sony TV.

Maybe will try to use other browser to test.

Thanks for the reply bro.
*
Ya, install other browser, disable the original, try again.

Puffin is in playstore... chrome, u need to sideload.

Also, u may want to use x-plore from playstore rather than es file explorer as file manager.

I find xplore better.

Let me know if it works, tq.

Anybody with such error? I faced it on my phone and Android box. It was OK last few days but I noticed this error last night. No problem with iOS though, it works flawlessly with iPad. I have sent a feedback via Google Play and Astro Go FB Messenger, now they are asking for more details from me which I have supplied. However, I'm worried they will not fix for me because my phone is not one of the supported devices.

This is the error which I was referring to, I have screenvideoed it: https://streamable.com/opnc8
Basically, the app will crash if expand the On Demand videos list by clicking "See All". I think Android TV may not have issue, just probably on Android devices.
*
Yes, some bug.

Happens to all my 3 devices, incl androidtv.

Likely someone missed, 826 not optmized for android... ios maybe ok...?

But not a problem.. just use mouse to click n drag horizontally, u see all of them.

As expected Astro refused to fix saying mine is not supported device.

I think if scroll horizontally, it's not all shows, just partial list. hmm.gif

I was using 8.2.4 in my box and also faced issue, so I sideloaded to 8.2.6 also same thing. My phone is using 8.2.6 all this while, no luck too. It just happened recently if I can recall.

Nevertheless, for a workaround I will now view from respective channels, the channel's VOD will be displayed under each live channel.

Yes, iOS is OK. I tried using iPad and it's OK.
*
upon further checking... some "see all" are ok, some are not.... depends in which section and which one.

definitely some bug they need to fix.

and yes, that did not exist in 824.

on a diff note, i wonder why astro does not want to sell astrogo separately, want only own stb/decoder.

if they incr no. of HD channels, incl dd5.1, improve app navigation and package it nicely, i think can sell like netflix if priced reasonably.

a lot of people have broadband and own boxes already, don't want more boxes and wires.

hi
what the best version Astro Go for tm stb ec6108v8?
*
u r better off asking in the TM STB dedicated box thread:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3594298/+3340

...

Astrogo and Unifi Playtv are quite fussy - work with some devices, but don't work with others - using official or modified APK.
As the authorities clampdown on the ahem providers, i wud think these 2 apps will become more popular, more people want to use them.

Afaik, if astrogo works on a certain box, unifi playtv will also work.
There are hundreds of android boxes... which one(s) will work?
To date, these are the known devices that work:

.. Install and use official apk as they are, no need to do anything special - Himedia Q10pro, Q5pro; Minix U9H, U1; Nvidia ShieldTV; Mibox Int'l, Mibox S.
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4629018/+460
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4513032/+540
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3561305/+3420
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4200167/+5440

.. Option in settings to close root, then install modified apk, use - Tanix TX92, TX3mini, TX3max.
.. Install app to unroot, then install modified apk, use - Tanix TX5max, TX6(?).
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4722095/+140

.. Other/different procedures to hide root or unroot, then install modified apk, use - many reported, i can't recall.

There must be other low cost boxes that can do - beelink, mecool, mxq, X96, H96, A95X..??
So many of them, not even sure i got the names right.
Anyone who knows more boxes, please add for the benefit of others as the info is outdated in other threads.

your Q+ H6 is from a new box manufacturer, first model... uses allwinner H6 chipset.
whatever the reason u bought this, u should (next time) READ up before u simply buy.
becos more established brands typically do a better job with firmware and support.
but take note not all expensive boxes may be able to do what u r looking for - u gotta read, ask, confirm.

not all is lost for yr box, though.
go to settings and see if there is a "superuser" option; if there is, closed the root and reinstall astrogo MODIFIED version.
(where to find this apk, it is posted TWICE in the link given below, u gotta read and find it.)
if there isn't, u may need to try installing an app called SuperSU to close the root before installing.
if that still doesn't work, unlikely u can make it work.

this box uses the same chipset as the Tanix TX6, so u can read and follow up when someone will answer my question about astrogo here:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4722095/+140

u may be wondering why the hell is it so troublesome to use this app...?
the answer is such providers discourage the use of boxes/tv, encourages only use on mobile device - phones/tablets.
i just got to read that in SG, it is even worse - they have put all blocks to stop users of boxes for their iptv services.

there is a need to read, test and try to be able to use such boxes well for a variety of apps, no shortcut - despite whatever the seller may tell u.
if u want to buy a new box that can do astrogo, u can go back to top of page where i have listed some boxes that can.
worst case, u spend rm88 or rm118 to get a new box that can, no need to spend more.

Anyone knows which android box i can install Njoy Now and play on 1080?
*
the current official apk 0.2.7 works when sideloaded on AndroidTV (ATV) smart tv's.

should work on boxes using ATV os, e.g. mibox s, u can ask:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3561305/+3500

like astrogo, official version works good on some other boxes but yet other boxes may need modified versions... no idea when u can get them.

ASTRO GO IS TOP STREAMING VIDEO SERVICE IN MALAYSIA ?

I don't think so. The TOP is Google, ie youtube.

The chart is for the "Paid for" video streaming service. Google ones is advertisement driven, so it is not exactly "paid for".
*
the chart has "google play" - it is a paid movie/TV/music streaming service.

Nobody is paying for AstroGo by itself right ? They get AstroGo due to their subscription of the traditional settop box services.
*
it is considered "paid" since u must have a subscriber paying, i.e. someone is paying.

same applies to unifi playtv.

personally, i do find astrogo among the best paid iptv (or free depending where n how u get access) - reliable, HD 720 (the channels i watch).

the rest... a mixed bag... u already know.

Why would people want to use netflix hd on tvbox ? Isn't that netflix hd is the default on the smart 4k TV ?
*
there are still many non-smart 1080p TV's out there.
netflix 4k, will first need a 4k tv and almost all have netflix 4k, a moot issue.

QUOTE(azwandy @ Jun 20 2019, 10:37 PM)
Hahaha.. nowadays the main selling point for local sellers are aotg ready.. 2nd is it netflix hd.. what i told them?? go get mibox instead..
*
mibox s is probably the best choice for entry level looking for basic streaming incl aotg and netflix hd but not for heavy lifting.
alternatively, pay 4-5 times more for shield to get the same for these 2 apps.
aotg was once a tough nut but now many boxes can do, like u already showed.

I search through lazada and shopee, 55 inch those are smart tv. is there 4k non-smart tv?
*
not referring to any specific size...

there are plenty of existing 1080p Tv's in homes.

there are 1080p Tv's still sold in the shops, e.g.
https://my.sharp/products/full-hd-tvs
there are 4k smart Tv's with youtube but not Netflix.
https://my.sharp/products/4k-uhd-tvs

walk the stores, u find them.

such Tv's will need box that can do netflix HD and/or 4k if that is the objective.

yeah. so i guess the ones that im looking for are smart tv instead of android tv.
guess time to jalan2 stores dy
*
smart = internet connected.

depending on brand and model, most have youtube, netflix and browser; cheaper ones may not have netflix.

androidtv or ATV is a special google android OS platform found only in smart 4k HDR TV's from Sony and Sharp; the rest use own OS.

ATV is good in that it allows u to sideload android apps beside the apps found in playstore, a good example being Astrogo.

if u already have a great android box, ATV may be less useful.

so, u buy the TV according to your needs.

Actually it is very simple. He is taking the ROM from the stock or other places, and he did something about it, of course it will run. For example, the GT1-A case, he took the ROM from freaktab which comes with TWRP, and by using TWRP he installed magisk, and then use Magisk manager to hide root from AstroGo.

In other words, he is doing his own value-add, the stock shipment from other sellers, they might not be willing to do all this value add, then the buyers will have to be on their own.
*
quite right.

i wud say there are 4 categories of boxes that can do astro go:

1. those on official/original firmware that can install direct from playstore, auto update.

2. those on official/original firmware that require sideload, manual update for new apk version.

3. those on official/original firmware that require root closing (and modified apk sideload).

4. those that require diff/customized firmware, root hiding/closing (and modified apk sideload).

buyers should know what they are buying.

only gt1-a cant do astrogo even after full unroot.. as puchongite points out, yup using magisk to hide the root..

gt1 mini (normal android), gt1 mini-a (androidtv) can play astrogo.. these are official naming conventions as per beelink official page

actually i also confused with the gt mini naming conventions..

now i know we have a stalker spying on me.. LOL..

no worries, i am straight as a pole.. u can keep stalking on me..
*
stalking?! biggrin.gif just asking u question since u made posts.

only gt1-a cant do astrogo even after full unroot - this is very disappointing...

i was considering this since 2 reviews say it can pass thru dtshdma/ddtruehd.
