Hi everyone. I've just got my mi box s. Did the setup and connected to my wifi. Then, suddenly my wifi is not in range. The box can detect my neighbour's wifi but not mine. And my other devices can connect to my wifi.

So, I tried doing factory reset. And now I'm stuck at the setup as the box still can't detect my wifi. I'm using TP Link  TD-W8961N router if that's relevant.

Did anyone had this problem before?

Try changing to channel 6 and use only 20mhz. Some older routers tend to need that change.

Thanks but I'm not quite tech savvy. How can I do that? Using the router setup page?

Yes, you have to log into your router setup page and go to wireless settings. These 2 settings will be there and try to change and see if it helps.

warranty not by mi malaysia but local dealer.

you can try lazada, those selling from range of RM290-RM299, anything below that, no MCMC sticker and already been rooted box.

I’m using the exact same model of wifi extender. I hve no such issues and its stable as a rock for me. Have you tried updating the latest firmware for the extender? Go to https://www.tp-link.com/my/support/download...re/v3/#Firmware to update the firmware and see if it helps solve the problem.

Do you noticed that even after they fixed the sleep bug, the mibox still very sluggish after waking up. I only used them for Youtube and Twitch, but both are lagging badly after waking up. Seem like it is just better to turn off completely and power up only when you needed.

Try turn on cec switch in HDMI CEC setting. For some reason, my mibox lags after sometimes if cec switch is off.

Well, I have no problem at all after restart. I can let it sleep fine if just for few hours. I only let my kids watch them on weekends. Hence after being idle for 5 days, it starts to lag no matter what I do.
