guys, sorry if this has been asked before but are there any differences in speed (loading time in game) to get a nvme m.2 vs sata ssd. specifically for gaming.
*
not really.

in general, nvme m.2 ssd is much faster than sata ssd. however to get its full potentials, it still depends on what you're using nvme m.2 ssds for. normal personal computing usage, gaming included, are not one of those use cases.

it should not be a problem, as long as the ssd is compatible with the device.

Silly me smile.gif

Now I can go out and buy 500gb instead. Thank you once again.

yes sometimes manufacturers do give some weird numbers to confuse us, maybe just for fun. they seem to have no idea on the common sizes available in retail market.

wtf?

what's your usage? it's damn hard to achieve this level. it's like more than 3 years since i use the same 240gb sata ssd as external storage everyday. (to store isos and vms that i created), but it's still have a long way to go.

1TB SSD pricing is coming down, some priced under RM1K but still on the expensive side. Maybe I should just get a WD black? I am going to use it for games.

Already quite affordable, back then 64gb see costs almost 1k if I recall correctly.
Just beware some of the cheap see does not have dram, one of them is from crucial.
