Hi guys,

I have a noob question. For streaming movies online, does the upload speed plays important role for smooth playback? Or download speed is the important ones? As i just subscribe to 30mbps and they provide 30mbps download and only 10mbps upload.
*
During instant streaming, some up-speed is required cuz your device has to keep updating the server among other stuffs. The 10Mbps uplink is more than sufficient for normal usages. However, if you do much uploading say for p2p connections or work or even online gaming.. Then depending on server requirements, you may need more.

Just from TP Link directly bro. If you are claiming from TM, they are more lenient and don’t care that much. At the end of the day, if it is a router issue, and not a firmware issue, they still have to honour the warranty. I am just letting people know it could be a potential issue for warranty claims from TP Link directly.

if u hv the chance, upgrade to 50, even 100mbps.

online streams work better with higher, more stable, more "safety margin" speeds.

i have seen a lot with 10, 30, 50, 100mbps... each step makes a diff.

more so for HD streams.

I used LiveChat to enquire about availability of promotion that I was entitled for. Report was created for sales team. They called me 2-3 days later to offer 10M to 30M upgrade. Since I also have the voice plan, it was maintained so in all I should be paying RM159 and as long as I don't alter then plan, the price should be locked even after 24 months. Now awaiting email to confirm the upgrade has been done. smile.gif

Anyone here keep getting 175.141.xx.xx? I don't want to connect to Kuching. The ping can hit around 5x-6x ping.

Fixed appointment today for installation. Received sms from TM says the installer will be at my house 10.30am for installation. Waiting till now and the installer not even reach my home. Called him and he says he still stuck at the house he need to do the installation this morning. What a lame excuse, whole morning till now can't even managed to get one house fixed?

Will call TM up for the cancellation as fedup with the level of the "professionalism" rendered. This is what u can expect to happen when monopolise business takes place.

It might be an extensive installation to be fair. But, he should have sent someone else in his place.

Are you using wired or wireless connection to ping?
How's the ping to your router?

Try a wired connection. Wireless can be iffy. Sometimes the ping to my router on wireless can be 20-30ms...

Many of us got it, got SMS from TM back in Nov. You can try to check with TM Point or 100 but I heard the last day was 31st Dec, not sure if it has been extended.
