I'm really confused and mad now not able to get 100Mbps on my any devices... Should have stick with 0Mbps plan  mad.gif
Disable Smart Connect then follow my settings below for 5GHz
I can get 100Mb/s on all my devices as long as I connect them to 5GHz

Yes, it is possible as you are using channel bonding in 5GHz. 2.4GHz will be a bit difficult, but still possible.

Isn't this changes based on WiFi strength?

Guys, a general question (in case anyone knows)

TM installed a new cable adjacent to our old phone cable (overhead, via poles).
The new cable is black-colored with yellow lining (as in the picture).

Green = Old plain black phone cable
Red = New black cable with yellow lining.

Any chance that these are Unifi cables..?
Just look like normal copper phone cables, though.. confused.gif

Even the '150Mbps' WiFi on wireless adapters are theoretical; the real world speeds are around 50-60Mbps icon_idea.gif

A direct Gigabit Ethernet/ac WiFi will saturate the 100Mbps network easily icon_idea.gif

Yes, those are UniFi cable
Place your interest at TM Point now to book a port before your neighbours grab them all

dayum, i'm excited.. i googled again and found similar pics across the net..

seems like i have to wait till they install the white distribution box & available in the system,
then only i can register.. but you're right - heard of 'no port' story from others before, so..
will try and visit TM Point the soonest possible.

ANyone can recomm a wireless router. was using nt12hp, just upgrade to 100mbps. unifi roter sucks big time. tried other firmwares as well. buudget rm400-500.
*
Which router did TM give you? Both the C1200 and DIR-850L are quite good as APs. Maybe what you can do is buy a good router such as a Mikrotik RB750Gr3 for about RM260 then use the existing Asus and TM's as APs. If your have network points around the house, you can place them strategically to cover the entire house.

It’s not about anybody, it’s the devices they use
And most 2.4GHz devices does not support 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz

It’s just some people are just too fixated on using 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz sweat.gif

Preach.. Which is why I kept quiet while the whole discussion about obtaining full speeds went on.. Hey folks, next time you get into your car. Do me a favor and take a look at the maximum speed limit marked in the speedometer. Now get on a highway and try to reach that max speed.. See if you can. 9.9/10 times, you won't be able to cuz what? Software and or hardware limitations. Similarly, home and internet networking. If everything is in order, one has no issues even hitting 3Gbps. One's tech just has to support it.

On another note... Happy New Year to all & Family! party.gif

actually... by now, most 100 mbps users know already.
but there are new 100 mbps users everyday...
speed, wifi, 2.4/5.0 issues did not arise with 50mbps or lower.
new to the 100 mbps challenge, info here scattered over 3xx pages... tough!

on top of that, they get a lousy tm router and has mix of old/new and ethernet/wifi devices.
see if they can improve to satisfactory levels before buying new router, new devices.
no brainer if new router cost rm200-300 but if 600, 1k, 1.5k.... need to check first before spending.

i will doing my shopping next week. smile.gif

Easy. Your 2.4GHz is affected by congestion and interference unlike the 5GHz which is more stable and not really affected by both factors that I mentioned. For online gaming, wired connection is the best, but if it is not possible, stick to 5GHz to avoid what I just mentioned.
