Used to paying RM179 for UniFi 30 -> UniFi 50 (Free Upgrade) -> UniFi 100 (RYE upgrade program for extra RM10)
For those who don't know - it is a perpetual upgrade (i.e. it lasts as long as you pay for it), but your contract will be renewed

QUOTE(Neptern @ Dec 10 2017, 12:02 PM) Welcome to the club. Now i just need to upgrade my router and stuff for more consistent performance. Any recommendations? Thinking of getting one to replace the current TP-Link one (Archer C1200). I have a budget of RM500 and DD-WRT support would be extremely useful |

I just got the upgrade about an hour ago, but why I got a RM150 perpetual discount rather than the RM200 the sales department promised?
Also now I need another new router.... |

QUOTE(SzeMeng76 @ Dec 18 2017, 05:19 PM) Unifi Special Discount of RM 50 will update 1 day later. Check tomorrow. Working fine, now I'm trying to think what wireless card should I get for my gaming desktop due to my stock one is unable to use the full bandwidth (it only supports 802.11n). Btw your router not working fine? |

Of course, on older laptops with 150Mbps WiFi - the speeds can be even slower
I'm hitting about 50-60Mbps down and 20-30Mbps up with my AR9485WB-EG wireless card On AC 5GHz WiFi (which is on another laptop) I got the full 100/50 speeds Note that the advertised WiFi speeds are technically done in ideal lab conditions |

QUOTE(sgpdsmss @ Dec 24 2017, 11:28 PM) yes..redmi note 4 phone not bad...battery can last longer .. You need something like 5GHz AC WiFi to get the 100/50 speeds correct...daily usage 50mbps is more more enough... im thinking n thinking to add on rm10 to get 100mbps or not...in the end i decide to top up... very sad when redmi cannot get the expected speed on 2.4ghz wifi after upgraded to 100mbps,,, so seek expert here....asking suggestion..opinion..solution here.... who knows in the end,,,device problem....... use pc did speedtest via lan cable..at least can up 9xmbps.... ![]() thanks,,, Usually the 150Mbps 2.4 802.11n WiFi has a realistic bandwidth of about 50-70Mbps (can vary significantly depending on router configuration and placement) |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Dec 31 2017, 08:37 PM) Already said this 3 times, stop expecting to get 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz Even the '150Mbps' WiFi on wireless adapters are theoretical; the real world speeds are around 50-60Mbps But here you go for my 2.4GHz settings ![]() A direct Gigabit Ethernet/ac WiFi will saturate the 100Mbps network easily |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jan 4 2018, 08:53 PM) About the DynamicDNS section, most newbies tends to think the service is free. Use No-IP. They have a free tier and all you need to do is to confirm their domain name each month (as easy as clicking the confirmation link in the email every month and solve a captcha) We should inform him on such 'limitation'. I have few 'clients' who complained about the service ain't free even though I informed them about such service require subscription or mandatory login into ddns provider website every month if one wanna keep it 'free'. I'm using it for my file server and it works brilliantly |

QUOTE(missysleepy @ Feb 2 2018, 06:44 PM) Will Unifi replace free router for customers if old router no longer capable to provide the higher speed package of 50mb? What router model are they giving free to new subscriber now? Just call them up and ask to change equipment - but an one-time RM50 fee will be applied to your bill and your contract will be extended I did this when I upgraded my UniFi to the Advance 30 plan, and they changed the old D-Link silver colored router to the new TP-Link C1200. I think the ONU is also changed to the newer Alcatel-Lucent unit This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Feb 3 2018, 12:12 AM |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Feb 3 2018, 10:27 PM) Here a weird question posed by my neighbours about few websites that can't be opened. Works just fine, but the automatic redirection seems exist for fanfox https://feikebt.com/ ----> can't connect? http://fanfox.net ----> automatic redirection to mangazone? When using https://hidester.com/proxy/ to access, those two websites load just fine. Changed DNS servers and cleared the DNS + browser cache too. Can't view the first and getting redirected at second. Anyone encounter the same problem? Otherwise, I might need to told them to use proxy server. |

QUOTE(genesis2000 @ Feb 8 2018, 03:21 PM) I understand that the D-Link's mydlink Lite App has the feature that allow us to view the web browsing history to see what sites the client devices are visiting. Well not much I heard of, but why?Anyone knows whether there are any other mobile apps from routers other than D-Link which has similar feature? Also such feature will be privacy-intruding or worse still they can be exploited through security loopholes, and will likely to be defeated quite easily with HTTPS connection/VPN |

QUOTE(may_day @ Feb 8 2018, 03:02 PM) Hi, my sister have 10 Mbps unifi lite, is it possible to upgrade to 30 Mbps with additional RM 10? thanks. You've got to call up 100 and contact their sales department and ask them to request an upgrade for RYE (Retain year end) It's also worth noting their discount will be perpetual (lifetime) unless the package has been upgraded/downgraded/changed This is how I get my 100Mbps connection for RM189 (without GST, of course) This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Feb 8 2018, 03:26 PM |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Mar 1 2018, 05:08 PM) Now, why on earth would you go and do such a thing.. So now, even if they aren't aware the plan is out there.. They do now and can decide to abandon it and or seek out the insider that leaked such.. I thought that the service is an opt-in discount like the RYE campaign Using wireless? Get a PC.. Connect via cable.. Try again. |
