That is what my friend told me. He will wrap the hp and make it look like a gift. But dunno whether custom will notice it or not?. From my reading at this forum, it looks like a lot of hassle to bring in hp from oversea. Now I'm wondering whether to go ahead with it or not?.

That's why I said I will try to declare it as mobile-pc, if they asked me to open it for inspection, i'll just open office program and wifi ~.~, well i guess it might not working, but it worth a try anyway.

if the device looks like a mobile phone, they will assume it's a phone unless you could prove that they are wrong. one more thing, N97 does have the NOKIA wording plastered on the front and back, you can't really fool them

Hi everybody, I'm planning to buy a guitar effect unit from the internet, (for those who don't play guitar - it's an electronic device that can change the guitar sound - size about a quarter of A4 size paper and as thick as average school text book)

can somebody educate me about the tax?does it has any difference by the way of courier or shipping? anybody have experience buying guitar effects before?

Your kindly reply would be appreciated. Thanks : )

I think you need to pay taxes for figurines. There's info around the thread. 10% - 30% i think?

Usually if its not suspicious, value low and declared as electronic for gift.
should be duty free.

but expensive items, its better to invest in better courier company.

It's tough to say when it comes to scenario like this and the only thing you can do is to pray hard that the custom officer who is in charge of inspecting cargo at your goods arrival time is sleepy or practice leniency. We have quite a variable number and amount of stories that deals with similar goods that get charged sometime and some not. Depends on luck and your negotiation skill.

If you have already check this with BPFK and they approve, then the next step is to request for import license.
