Anyone know if I import Watch from US, will get taxes or not? If yes, how much the maximum??
*
Watches are taxable items. 20% of the declared amount will be imposed.

nahh, typically all imported items that has a value of RM200 and lower, they don't even bother to hold it and tax it. does not worth their time to tax stuff under RM200 they say. heh tongue.gif so no worries, just go ahead and import that tamagotchi you've always in your wanted list smile.gif

wanna ask if my ndsl cartridge need to tax ar??
value is about RM80

chances of getting taxed is low but they might withheld it if they go bonkers. next time, you could request the seller to declare the item as a "misc. computer accs."

any idea how much is the custom tariff for bag?
*
bags i'm not too sure, but it should be taxable as it falls under the "fashion apparel" category but hey, tell you what, i've just received my seven pieces of printed round neck tees in a single shipment, customs ppl release it just like that. so, i guess, if you're buying just a bag, it should be ok, just make sure that the sender don't fancy sending stuff in the big fancy box

I will be shipping some Nike stuffs, such as bandanas, t shirts.... from America.  blink.gif  blink.gif  blink.gif

Will they tax me? o.O Its just Nike =.=..

Is it confirmed that they won't tax me if the all my items worth total below RM500?  smile.gif
*
that is not correct, items that are taxable with the parcel value worth more than RM200 (excluding printed media eg. CDs, DVDs & BDs) have higher chances to get withheld at customs. they will not bother to hold items lower than RM200 value as the taxable amount is too low for them to earn moolah. Your luck depends on it too, keep your fingers crossed and make sure lady luck is smiling upon you if you order a whole lotta bunch of stuff in one shipment smile.gif

I'm newbie here~

I have some favor to ask~
I had purchased a japan single from CD Japan...
It supposed to reach 1~2WEEKS....
But I had waited almost 2 months....
Unfortunately...I used EMS(Economic mail service) which do not provide tracking number...
Where should I suppose to go to find my post?
*
a piece of CD is unlikely to get stuck at custom. uhh..by EMS, it should stand for "Express Mail Service" and it should have a tracking no. to go with it. yours should be SAL "Surface Air Lift"/"Surface Sea"/"Air". if your parcel is insured, i would advice you to try and file for a claim, else you could drop CD Japan an email and see if they could help you out

I've been thinking of importing Nokia N97 into Malaysia.

I heard that Mobile Phone required SIRIM and Tax 10%.

So, if I declare it as a 'Mobile-Computer', it should avoid all the hassle? Since it did look like Table PC anyway. LoL. Or maybe Kastam are more clever than that?

Could anyone shed light on me? What would happen if I really do that? Let's say, if I removed all the boxes, and put alot of fingerprint on the phone before sending it out, would it be fine as well?
*
your idea would phailed miserably, trust me. even if you asked the seller to smash the phone into bits/dunk it into the toilet bowl/feed it to the dog before it was posted out, if it's a phone, kastam will definately ask you to obtain a SIRIM AP and afterward tax you 10%

Hi there,
I wanted to buy a handphone and shipped to Malaysia from UK.  The person in UK mention that he will be using express mail service (ems) to malaysia.  Will the handphone kena tahan and need to pay tax?.  If need to pay tax, how much?.  The price of the handphone is around USD300.  Could anyone help to answer this.

Thanks
azihas

yes, it will be "tahan-ed". kastam will call you up and ask you to come personally to collect your phone from POS LCCT. you'll need to open the parcel in front of the OIC for inspection. afterward, they'll hand you a form that you need to bring along to SIRIM Shah Alam. it'll cost you RM200 and 3~4 waiting days to obtain your AP. once the AP is ready, you'll have to collect it from SIRIM and head back to LCCT for clearance. they will tax 10% of the item cost. the grand total that you have to fork out (minus the hassle of travelling like a mad dog + waste of petrol and time) is :-

RM200 (~SIRIM AP) + RM100 (~10% Tax of USD300) = RM300+/-

That's why I said I will try to declare it as mobile-pc, if they asked me to open it for inspection, i'll just open office program and wifi ~.~, well i guess it might not working, but it worth a try anyway.
*
if the device looks like a mobile phone, they will assume it's a phone unless you could prove that they are wrong. one more thing, N97 does have the NOKIA wording plastered on the front and back, you can't really fool them
