yes, you can call them. Maybe they will ask you to call 03-87872020 since your item stuck at inward OE. The best way is to call them. Good luck bro! ^^

Without tracking no. 'tak boleh buat apa-apa' that's the reply I got on the phone. If on that day the parcel get tahanned, that day itself they will call if given a phone no. or they will send a pos laju letter the same day. Really so efficient? I mean, that's super efficient even by private company standards. Will wait a few more days before asking for reimbursement. Is taking forever without any light in sight! Hope i don't rugi too much for the items I bought.

Added on August 4, 2010, 3:11 pmFor the hassle of items that are bought in small quantity for personal use, i think i will try to stick to the choices offered in sprees. I didn't think it would be so leceh, custom tahan and tax items that are illegal or very rare or big bulks. Nvm, now i know...experience makes us wiser!

Oooo...ya...cellphone needs SIRIM...and even you pay for it, it needs few weeks to process before you got your phone also...sigh....So there're many here with experience say that, better ship what is worth for it... =(

Yes mobile phone are required SIRIM approval. If you want it fast. You have to pay double for express approval. The RM 200 fees is not fix to every mobile phone. The fees would be vary according to the model itself and also the quantity.

Hello

If you buy from overseas, does not matter any website, will most definitely be taxed.

1) laptops are expensive items in nature

2) Customs like to hold or "target" electronic items such as laptops, hand phones, sometimes gps.

You may get away if you can give a valid reason such as it has been used, or etc. However, the probability is VERY LOW especially for electronics stuff.

Just want to inform you all my experience

Last time I had purchased action figures from overseas. Custom gave me call and tell me the amount that I need to pay. If not mistaken, I was charged 15% of the purchase price of the value the seller declare for tax +RM25 for handling fee. Being a newbie at that time, I agree to it. I had to faxed and sms to confirmed the payment of tax and handling fee. 2 Days later, the items were sent to my doorstep and i need to pay on the spot (they were using Kanggaroo service)

Wonder if the seller declare very low value, I just need to pay 15% of the value stated or do customs have a "standard value of items"?

Do laptops get taxed since since in my opinion computer related items should be tax-free?hmm.gif

On your question on item value, they will inspect the declared value on the packaging. But usually it is up to the Custom whether to hold or not your items. Let's say your package is big box but the item value is low. Maybe they will hold on and ask you to come to open it or provide them proof that that item value is as stated.

Whoa, I'm seriously thankful for Low Yat. Has been very informative. Would like to share my experience for future buyers.

My parcel from Gmarket Korea was detained at the Butterworth Customs and I received my letter on the 11th. Tracking log as below.

1:48 05-Aug-2010 Posting/Collection DONGSUWON
13:12 05-Aug-2010 Arrival at outward office of exchange INTERNATIONAL POST OFFICE
14:56 05-Aug-2010 Departure from outward office of exchange INTERNATIONAL POST OFFICE
Handed over to Air carrier INCHEON
09:55 07-Aug-2010 Arrival at inward office of exchange MYKULA
10:20 07-Aug-2010 Handed over to Customs MYKULA

Collected today without paying any tax. So freaking happy! rclxms.gif Was really worried because I bought bags and shoes. And according to the customs website, leather bags and shoes are non-dutiable so I was gonna kinda say they are all made from leather. Anyway, I only brought my invoice which was in Korean. The customs officer was actually really friendly. He made me open the box to verify its contents. The whole time I thought he was trying to properly verify what the items were so he could classify them and tax them, but instead he was actually admiring the items!

He was like, 'ahh korean bags very nice yah.' Looks at sealed shoe boxes, 'What's this? Open, open, show me.' Once box was opened, ' Wah really very nice ah. Korea makes very good things. Their contact lenses are also better.' sleep.gif

Then he calculated the total in MYR and orders me to go into another room, his ketua's room, a very young malay woman and I also dunno what she did, only looked at the documents, chopped them and said I can leave. All in all, as long as the items incl postage was less than RM500, you are free to go.

My advice to you is if your original invoice is less than RM500 just bring the online invoice sent to you. If not, then say you forgot. Because Gmarket (I'm assuming you bought from there) actually understates you item. I purchased 4 bags and 3 pairs of shoes but Gmarket only disclosed 3 bags and 1 pair of shoes, so if you're damn unlucky, you could still save a bit on tax.... What to say about the extra items? Free gift should do the trick!

anyone at KL have experience for receive SAL small packet unregistered? Do they use poslaju van to send the item or just only use the normal posman motorcycle? Will they store the SAL small packet unregistered at post office after they try for first time delivery but no body at home?

Because my oversea fren sent out together 1 SAL small packet registered and 2 SAL small packet unregistered to me, but last week i only receive a notice to tell me to go collect SAL registered packet (because i not at home when he deliver), and i still waiting for other 2 SAL small packet unregistered...

according to my past experience for receive SAL packet at other area(not KL area), those unregistered packet should be deliver at same time with registered packet if they are sent out together by sender, and if no body at home during delivery, postman will throw the box into the house...so i wondering whether the postman at KL can be trust or not, or just not efficient enough.

It's illegal to declare incorrect information but this is only way can let our item pass safely
For those item that declare very low price, normally they won't pick or random pick.

depend on your luck
