Oooo...ya...cellphone needs SIRIM...and even you pay for it, it needs few weeks to process before you got your phone also...sigh....So there're many here with experience say that, better ship what is worth for it... =(
*
Yes mobile phone are required SIRIM approval. If you want it fast. You have to pay double for express approval. The RM 200 fees is not fix to every mobile phone. The fees would be vary according to the model itself and also the quantity.

Can some one enlighten me why recently I bought an LCD monitor (not exactly a complete set), it comes with LCD panel, circuit, invertor got 10% tax? total CIF value is around RM 350++. I understood anything below RM 500 (CIF) is tax free except, liquor, ciggy etc.

Paid to DHL upon delivery to me and dont have a chance to speak directly to the custom officer.

I got the official receipt also from custom. should i wrote a complaint to them?

They charge you for Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) approval. Television and projection are required ST approval.

QUOTE(winongcf @ Nov 21 2010, 07:44 PM)
dear all,

i have bought a beauty device from China 1mth ago and opt for air shipping through an agent, after waiting for 1mth, the agent tell me that the item is being confiscated by the custom.now offer a refund of half of the money that i have paid for it.

what i am concern is, the item i bought is less than RM100, but not available in Malaysia, i asked her to get bak the item from custom coz i thought the reason why they withhold the item is for taxing purposes, but the agent told me that we wont be able to get bak the item already without telling me the reason, she say the custom can take whatever they want without reason, i feel something wrong is here.

kindly advice me what can i do to proceed.

thank you

Post the details here especially the specification or else hard to comment. Too general.

Regulatory Approval: Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST)
Import Duty: 0%
Sales Tax: 10%

Because it is under ASEAN China Free Trade Area (ACFTA). Import duty is 0%

I don't understand the "Into foreign customs" twice. I called PosLaju and then the customs and I was told it's being held by the customs, but they cannot give me the exact details because "my documents haven't arrived" or something - according to the lady I was speaking to.

So...what do I do?
Seriously, USPS/PosLaju is terrible. I'll always opt to use FedEx from now on.

Okay so I called them again, and I was told my package is being held by the customs. I can either get Pos Malaysia to settle and collect it for me or I can go to LCCT myself to declare it.

I told the person on the phone it's a camera and that it shouldn't be taxed - he said yes, and something about the customs just wanting me to declare it. He said there's no tax on camera items but perhaps only on its parts.

So I'll have to go later to get it. Retarded shit I tell you.
*
Btw, any communication device required tax and approval. So yeah camera phone required you to pay for the tax and obtain the approval.
