I didn't recall OCBC Ti has AF, I remember it was free for life.

I'm not sure if it gives three years now but definitely not easy to waive.
*
just checked ocbc website, indeed titanium has no annual fee. Then I seriously forgot why I got this 365. Maybe because of that time new card and has 1% for first rm1k so I applied.

Had called ocbc to request for waiver, if really cannot waive then no choice but to cancel it then. But ocbc card credit limit is very high as compared to other bank. Will be wasted if cancelled.

Maybe I should apply for titanium first before cancelling this one.

Hi all,

I am staying in a hotel costing rm200 per night. However, they required rm200 as deposit. Hence, they swiped rm400 of my credit card which i received the message alert and also the printed slip. Upon checking out hotel, they will charge the actual amount which is rm 200 right? If yes, what do they do with the rm400 they swiped my card earlier? Do they tear off the paper? Or refund. Sorry its my first time paying deposit with credit card, normally they ask for cash.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

If a bank is unable to explain the abnormally high interest charges in my credit card statement when I request for the calculation, can I bring the matter up to Bank Negara?

They are citing that the figures are calculated by the system and it would take a long time to obtain the calculation, all those excuses.

How much did you owe them? Through normal purchase or cash advance?

RM 36k and below per annum can only have cards from two issuers' banks not two cards. Since all your cards are from HLB, then it is OK since all shares the same limit. However, for most of the banks, Islamic and conventional banking are using two different limits, so it is considered as two issuers.

You still can add one more issuing bank's card(s). smile.gif

Can i have one card in one bank another card in a different bank can they approve ?

I don't understand your query.
You can apply as many cards as you want, so long it is approved by banks. I mean provided your annual salary is RM 36001 and above. Else, only from two issuing banks.

If by pledging FD, I guess no limitation, since you are tied to it. Once you lift up the FD, your card will be gone as well.

How to keep your money in credit card? You swipe and pay later. That's the purpose of credit cards.

I wonder what do you mean. As i know, as a credit card holder, if we owe bank the longer the time, we will be the one who are getting the advantage (BUT not late payment which will imposed in interest rate/late payment charges).

For Example, My statement date = 27th of every month, and due on 16th of the following month. I should pay by debt around 10th of every month to fully utilised the loan as there is no interest rate imposed when we pay within the due date. Hence, by doing so, bank could not earn our payment's interest rate if we pay the money late.

So in your case, is it you mean you gonna owe the bank and wait until the few days before due only you pay?

Thank you for the link . To collect points or rebate which is better is you own a credit card ? hmm.gif

Depends.

If you are a high spender, points might be more rewarding.

But cash back ain't too bad either. See what you want and how you spend.

It is from transaction date. And the interest of RM57 is incorrect. I can tell you because it is from my experience. I insisted the bank to give me the breakdown of interest because the amount that I calculated is different. Here is the calculation of interest.

For eg, statement date 31.5.2017. Due date 20.6.2017. Payment date is 22.6.2017. Interest 18% pa

3.5.2017 Transaction A RM200. Interest: RM200 x 18% x 50 days(3.5.2017-21.6.2017)/365days = RM4.93
5.5.2017 Transaction B RM300. Interest: RM300 x 18% x 45 days(5.5.2017-21.6.2017)/365days = RM6.66
Hope it helps.
