it depends on the price of the bike.
my 1000cc bike with RM 30k coverage have to pay around 850 for insurance only comprehensive first rider with 15% no claim discount.
also added RM 160 for bike warrior.

ask the shop for the policy document, then you should see if he quote real price or not.

Oh, the bike i am looking was costing around 15K in 2018. So i believe the valuation will be substantially lower in 2025.

Hence why the quoted myr 700 bucks does not make sense on such old bike or am i missing something along the way

Wanted to look at the policy in detail but the salesperson went back off and taichi my bike viewing task to another shop helper.

No doubt the bike is one of the lowest priced of the lot in mudah but the shop even admitted that they did not service the bike when the owner traded in which I think its fair on their end.

Noticed some shiny oily patch (especially shined with bright torch) on the engine block and also the sprocket but did not see any oil patch on the floor.

The shop told me it is nothing, not to mention he told me the miles (under 40k km) is legit and not tempered with which i think is bullshit

Its not easy to do close up inspection when i need to tip toe in between bike parked beside it.

Also, s it really matter if the bike come with the service booklet/manual. I think the one I am looking at does not.

maybe hes trying to give you comprehensive all rider?

ask them to help move the bike so easier for you to inspect. used bike need a really thorough inspection before buying.

ive went through 3 used bikes and none of them had service manual. you can easily find them online most of the time, so not an issue.

Oh yes, i remember the person doing the quote told me about this. And I mention like toppest of the top too that why it went up to 700 bucks.
Basic gist i remember is it is unlimited rider and another unlimited component which i cant think of now.
I assume towing would be part of it or I need to get a seperate item like Allianz bike warrior (this shop only deal with berjaya sompo)
Tried to ask quote for one rider (myself) only she say the person who can give the final number is the one who have dump me and left back home.

Its just that tend to overbudget just in case any random surprises but at the same time does not mean I am willing to give away my money just like that

If i were to return tomoro just worried they will all jump on me asking me to get it since they doing everything I asked for

Are you fine if the bike does not come with service book? The book where dealer will chop when service is done? Mine does not come with this too.

for comparison I paid 1k for my comprehensive motorcycle insurance with only RM15k coverage lol, was in a rush to renew and forgot to opt out of the "all rider" option

yes I'm fine with that.
check physical condition then test ride and everything feels ok are enough for me.
the only service history I'd like to know if previous owner have done valve clearance with proof when mileage is 40k+ km, 80k+ km overhaul and so on..
but of course check also online feedback for that particular model if there are any issue using fb groups or google search results.

anyone encounter insect building nest on engine top cover?

i park my bike outdoor under tree with motorcycle cover all the time. only ride on weekend. weekdays only start once to keep the battery charging.

today sunday i take my bike out to ride. at first i only notice some sisa buah that usually fall from my neighbour tree, i thought its nothing but. i start the bike and ride for awhile got some unusual fragrance sell like something is cooking but cant located where the smell come frome and continue riding for 4 hour.

evening back home and check found some burnt seed on top of engine cover, let the engine cool down and use water to wash use hand korek all the sisa buah ontop of engine cover. changed my motorcycle cover to new one just now.

how to prevent this?
