Unless you are really overweight, maybe can try this

Lean forward a bit, squeeze the tank more with your legs to support yourself. Keep your elbows loose (if not your shoulders will cramp up quick) and little to no weight on the wrist. You can adjust your handle bar to help with positioning.

Try not to sit so upright. Sitting upright puts more weight on your butt.

I've been riding 2 hour stints (fuel only last 2hrs) on my NK which isn't that much more padded when it comes to seat pad. If anything the CB seat is more comfortable.

But as in all things, this needs time and miles to get used to. They don't call it iron butt for no reason.
*
thanks, I'll take note of this for my next ride. I've added a handle bar riser (handle nearer to me) on the bike hence the more upright sitting position and with a tailbag on the rear seat jutting out by a little bit towards me made me sit even more upright. that prolly best explained the discomfort.

QUOTE(alexei @ Feb 7 2025, 09:11 AM)
the seat foam gotta support the sit bone, not the butt

yeh, am aware that a soft seat foam might cause more harm than good that's why i am quite reluctant to change it since i lack knowledge of it.

if u dun wanna mod the stock seat.. look at seat pads. those can definitely help. friend of mine is using THIS honeycomb seat pad and is very happy with it. u will be sitting higher of course and changing ur riding position abit. but its cheap enough to give it a test n non permanent.

if ur willing to mod...u could go check out carlo moto in cheras like patent mentioned. would definitely recommend this shop first n foremost. they are not cheap, but the foam they use is so much better than the ones that the more famous HAS cushion uses.

i havent done my seat there but did picit picit the aged, possibly had tones of picits, sample foam at carlo moto which feels so much nicer than the ones that HAS cushion uses...HAS uses foam from Modenas Kriss. as a previous Kriss owner... ive never liked that foam... too soft.

ive done my z9 seat twice...first in HAS cushion (shah alam) and Misai Kucing in sri damansara. same pricing, same materials, same quality. results are definitely better than stock.. but again...the foam too soft...

so if u have to choose between the 2, go to misai kucing coz not as many people there. can go after lunch and get ur seat done in an hour or 2. HAS u have to camp there before it opens n possibly still have to wait ur turn.

carlo moto u need to book slot

Came across this FortNines video on all Kawasaki bikes having the positive neutral finder - something that makes it easy to switch to N at idle, only to realize that it's the reason why my bike has been shifting into neutral when I was in gear 2 and moving slowly... Guess it's the false detection especially during heavy traffic

I think you need to be a bit more deliberate when shifting gears. That's not how Kawasaki's positive neutral finder works.

It locks out 2nd gear when not moving, while shifting from 1 to N so you don't overshoot and get into 2nd trying to find neutral.

bought this from MrDiy.
so, i need to re-lub my chain after cleaning?
*
Not sure about this specific product but generally engine degreaser like this can be quite harsh and may affect the seals of the o-rings of your chain, significantly increase risk of failure.

Used diesel first to clean off the scum and then soap to clean off the diesel.
Previously I would use specific chain cleaner sprays.

Anyone knows of shops that offer rental for Honda RSX? Kinda interested to rent it for a day and test it out.

Got in touch with Bino but they don't have it.

Can ask Honda ImpianX whether they have test ride unit, and see if can rent it.
I did a test ride on RSX at ImpianX near my place before buying one.

Guys, has anyone of you sold your car and gone fully bike and regretted it?

Contemplating selling my car as it hasn't seen much use ever since I got my bike April last year, mostly traveling to work with bike only. I am thinking hard for a situation where I'd really need to own a car, but being in Selangor it seems really easy these days with e-hailing and even SOCAR if I really need to drive... and there's family car that I can borrow as well.

A Honda city in rather good condition. Just one more year of installments to pay, if I sell it now probably I get back a healthy chunk of money that I can reinvest.

I don't need the money, but I'm pretty much watching my money depreciate if I don't sell it since I can no longer utilize it much. It's gotten to the point where I don't even renew the roadtax and insurance anymore, and is perpetually delaying my service visits since I find it hard to reason about when I hardly drive the car.

ahh the mistake. even not using or old car, renew the insurance and road tax. else you need to bring puspakom before they allow you to change name(for selling) and renew the insurance/road tax.

Same goes to bikes. I think anything left without valid roadtax/insurance beyond 2 years requires puspakom visit.

on the fact of selling it, if you already have alternate means(be it another car, tax, grab etc) and comfortable that without your car you wont face any difficulties etc then sell it.

Similar situation with you but difference is I don't buy a car because of same reason that you mentioned.
Can do everything with bike, can use my mom car or use grab.
Also because I'm still single so maybe can get away with not having car for now laugh.gif

Started going fully bike 2 years ago and still keeping my car in case for emergency or need to make purchases that requires a car to carry the goods or travel long distance during monsoon season. that's my reason
have fully paid for it and its more than 10 years old so the depreciation wont matter much in my case but i still do need to drive the car around at least an hour every month because its a hybrid. its a chore to keep the 12v battery charged but I am ok with it

for your case if you have a family car that you can borrow, then IMO no point keeping the car.

Do you still follow the regular maintenance schedule?

Things that I still need to do if I keep it:
- Drive the car around to make sure the parts don't break
- Send the car in for maintenance every 6 month regardless of whether I drive
- Pay for insurance, road tax, maintenance and car park - Basically 2~3K+ per year

And pray that there's no big parts that will break down.

I think all signs point to selling the car, but it's a bit strange to not own a car after so many years.

No I dont. been more than 6 years I only send for regular maintenance once a year or when it reaches 10,000km (fully synthetic)
so basically per year my insurance and road tax is 1 K, and regular maintenance at honda SC is approx 300 -500 per year
after going full bike mode for the past 2 years, total mileage is less than 1k per year, since i still need to drive it around for an hour every month mainly on highways just to charge the IMA battery and keep it healthy.

Sounds reasonable, at least your effort is still worth it if you still get to use the car occasionally.

We have a better car in the household, so even when the family goes out together, we use that car anyway. Only time we would drive my car is just to put some mileage in to keep the car in shape.

If I factor in depreciation as well, I am likely looking at paying 5K per year to keep the car while not utilizing it much.

What is the general price range for comprehensive bike insurance? Like the type cover everything toppest of the top tier for a 400cc bike

I was quoted around 700 bucks for it, is that the normal price range or I have being kena con by the shop?

Since its most likely going be my first purchase so doing it via the shop for the first time round.
