Hi fellow bikers, just to let you know that please be careful when you are riding on the highway especially on the left side/emergency lane.

Look far ahead and scan for debris on floor. icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Just witnessed an incident this evening in between Kayu Ara NKVE toward Subang exit

There some massive debris akin to lorry front crash bar on emergency lane and one of the bike rode over it causing it to fly upwards and hit another motorcyclist trailing right behind it.

The whole thing smashes to the bike and he veer toward the left and hit the metal railing causing bike to roll, saw his helmet roll over the floor.

Luckily there a police patrol vehicle so happen to be nearby to control the situation, I hope nothing too bad for the rider.

When I rewatched my dash cam I saw some rider few car behind actually started evasive movement before this happen.

I guess they actually looked far ahead to scan for any road irregularity.

Now after owning it for almost a year, what I said then still l holds true. Very satisfied with my bike. Only defect was that the gear shift indicator was acting wonky for a month or so, showing the wrong gear etc. But was intermittent. Then when I was preparing to send it for warranty, somehow it fixed itself and until now no issues. Going full throttle on first gear to redline still scares me till today. How the hell did you stumble upon my almost 1 year old post though?

Regarding counter steering, try finding for Chris code twist of the wrist 'movie' and it goes into more detail there. Only thing is you have to tahan the cheesy acting laugh.gif

I somewhat stumble upon your post while i was browsing thru this thread, since time flies I am wondering how was things going on for that bike brows.gif

Okay would look onto chris code movie, I actually had part 2 of its book because I found that many people say part 2 would be more suitable for daily riding as opposed to part 1.

Found this randomly lol when search in utube, seem like uploader added some extra bits inside.
I have to rewatch 1:45 multiple times in slow motion

Just wanna ask, my L License is expriring soon.

Can I renew in any post office or I have to specifically go to JPJ to renew it?

Also, lets say my lesen expires on 30 April, can i still renew it on like 15 May for example?

Is there cut off date for renewing which if I missed it I would require me to restart the whole process again?

Thanks, apart from the app download.
Is there anything else needed for Physical Lesen renwal?
I assume a photo of me is required since my current L lesen is just glued in photo.

no need for photo, just bring current L lesen and IC.
The renewed L won't have any photo but you need the old one(with photo) and new one when registration taking B full license.

MyJPJ got option to renew L license now, under Lesen Memandu change from Lesen Memandu Kompeten to Lesen Belajar Memandu then scroll all the way down can see pembaharuan
*
Just to revisit this topic.

Can I go to UTC JPJ to renew the L lesen since they open over the weekend?
Or I have to go the Main JPJ Office, for my case I got my L Lesen at JPJ Wangsa Maju?

Should be fine. Maybe you should try the online renew in myjpj app
*
QUOTE(Aaronnnnnn @ May 9 2024, 09:47 AM)
just renew using the app, fast and easy

Just to share my experience renewing my L Lesen
Went to UTC in the morning.
Need to download JPJ Queueing app then scan qr code for the queue.
Go to counter say i want to renew my lesen.
Pay and I got a slip of renewal which I need to attach with my soon to be expire lesen.
Off I go, all within 1 hour thumbsup.gif

Just a sad thing that they no longer would have physical lesen moving forward. The only way to get physical copy of lesen is Internationa License.

Call me old skool but I some what prefer physical copy then depending all on phone and apps

This is what the officer told me when I renew my L Lesen.
To be honest kinda sucky as mine going to expire next year.
Thankfully L lesen still have physical slip, not sure what happened six month later when I renew it

maybe got instructions from their upper management to stop giving physical card lol, save money for gov
*
I guess so, and they prefer to keep info digitally too.

QUOTE(bo093 @ May 17 2024, 04:43 PM)
No need to wait for renew, walk in and request for physical card (RM20).

You do need proof of traveling abroad, so a hotel booking (if travelling via BIKE/CAR), plane tickets and etc would be suffice.
But I'm not sure if they actually check or not.
I got mine before they implement it a few months before.  tongue.gif

Make sure is not the slip, but the actual physical plastic card.  laugh.gif
Sorry for leaving a few details behind.
*
Not sure if this trick would work next year?
The officer I spoke to does not mention about this but he pointed toward intl driving license instead cos I specifically mentioned that I insists having a physical lesen when it expires next year

passed my bfull JPJ on first test  rclxms.gif . 7.2sec on titi, 5.65sec on emergency brake. hahaha

Just curious, is your examiner very particular about the part where you need call and point out the bike parts and how was the condition?
I am worried I may jumble out that particular section.

QUOTE(marsha1l @ Jun 6 2024, 08:26 AM)
finally got physical license card and renew it till 2030.

its not straight fwd. Need justification on why need physical card. My advise if you want physical license, bring these doc:

-photocopy + original valid passport
-photocopy + original IC
-photocopy + original ( if relevant) holiday itenary /work permit.

If you travel oversea quite often, stamp in your passport can be supporting doc. No extra charge were impose as I renew additional 2 years only pay rm60 over the counter, based on receipt.
*
Likewise I managed to get a renewed physical lesen and IDP too.
For my case they asking for my flight itin but I carried my passport just in case they need to look at it.

Since I have not gotten my Bfull yet, if i pass my exam can I update my physical lesen to reflect the new class since I have renewed it when I got my IDP?

What is the general price range for comprehensive bike insurance? Like the type cover everything toppest of the top tier for a 400cc bike

I was quoted around 700 bucks for it, is that the normal price range or I have being kena con by the shop?

Since its most likely going be my first purchase so doing it via the shop for the first time round.

QUOTE(Patent @ Feb 19 2025, 08:14 PM)
it depends on the price of the bike.
my 1000cc bike with RM 30k coverage have to pay around 850 for insurance only comprehensive first rider with 15% no claim discount.
also added RM 160 for bike warrior.

ask the shop for the policy document, then you should see if he quote real price or not.
*
Oh, the bike i am looking was costing around 15K in 2018. So i believe the valuation will be substantially lower in 2025.

Hence why the quoted myr 700 bucks does not make sense on such old bike sweat.gif or am i missing something along the way

Wanted to look at the policy in detail but the salesperson went back off and taichi my bike viewing task to another shop helper.

No doubt the bike is one of the lowest priced of the lot in mudah but the shop even admitted that they did not service the bike when the owner traded in which I think its fair on their end.

Noticed some shiny oily patch (especially shined with bright torch) on the engine block and also the sprocket but did not see any oil patch on the floor.

The shop told me it is nothing, not to mention he told me the miles (under 40k km) is legit and not tempered with which i think is bullshit

Its not easy to do close up inspection when i need to tip toe in between bike parked beside it.

Also, s it really matter if the bike come with the service booklet/manual. I think the one I am looking at does not.

maybe hes trying to give you comprehensive all rider? laugh.gif

ask them to help move the bike so easier for you to inspect. used bike need a really thorough inspection before buying.

ive went through 3 used bikes and none of them had service manual. you can easily find them online most of the time, so not an issue.
*
Oh yes, i remember the person doing the quote told me about this. And I mention like toppest of the top too that why it went up to 700 bucks.
Basic gist i remember is it is unlimited rider and another unlimited component which i cant think of now.
I assume towing would be part of it or I need to get a seperate item like Allianz bike warrior (this shop only deal with berjaya sompo)
Tried to ask quote for one rider (myself) only she say the person who can give the final number is the one who have dump me and left back home.

Its just that tend to overbudget just in case any random surprises but at the same time does not mean I am willing to give away my money just like that sweat.gif

If i were to return tomoro just worried they will all jump on me asking me to get it since they doing everything I asked for shocking.gif

Are you fine if the bike does not come with service book? The book where dealer will chop when service is done? Mine does not come with this too.
