Sorry about your friend. Pet E1 offer for CA at first might be demotivating, but that's only short term. It would be only for one year or two before one get promoted to E2. At least this is what I heard from colleagues who are involved in the and have finished the CA programme.

I agree with you that having stuck in small subsidiary might be bit disappointing, but then again no one ever said one would be stuck there forever.
*
Yes, you r right about no one ever would stuck forever, but then again it depends on your HoD. If u stuck with a HoD that is not very understanding on your career progression, it is super hard to get transfer if u became dept asset through your hard work. You can get transfer, but it will take time, this is especially outside kl hq office where not many young exec want to work.

Did my SI in august, got the result on 1 october (passed). Should I call them to ask about my placement?
*
You should call the main HRM division in KLCC if you know their number, useless if you call HR in state division because placement is totally now shifted to main HRM....IMO based on my experience.

I called them every two weeks and their answer is please wait for us to call you. I dont know if I should call again in two weeks time. Should I? The waiting period is so long
*
yes, the waiting period is very long, but as long as you already know the result for the interview is recommended, what you can do now is just waiting and follow up with them.

I heard that Petronas won't retain any interns after they finish the internship, even if they performed good? Is it true?
*
Depends. But as far as I am concerned, interns still have to go for SI even their performance is good. And the best your department can do is to recommend and push the HR to get you a sit for SI.

I was told to puasa before my medical check up. However, that morning, I chewed 1 tiny chewing gun and the nurses upon knowing that said my act could potentially cause me to fail my blood test because of higher sugar content. cry.gif

Hi,

Just got an email from Petronas HRM, they're holding off my offer letter for now rclxub.gif due to the fact that I've had failed the lipid serum test for cholesterol. I'll need to repeat the blood test next month at my own cost doh.gif . Anyone have had experience the same? But on positive side they'll secure the position for me until I deem fit for employment nod.gif . TQ in advance for your valuable response

Dont worry. It's 'curable'.

Ask any doctors, pharmacists about how to lower your cholesterol. They'll teach you. There are even supplements for those with readings all over the roof, but I dont think you would need this.

All the best!
