I know three chinese are the HOD in Petronas, and one of them have been working in Petrons for 20 years, I don't think if the environment is that awful you could stay there for 20 years.

You may not see many Chinese in twin towers, because majority of them are Bumi (quota maybe), I met some of them are actually very well-verse and capabale (As you would understand not all Chinese are hardworking either)

I do not know what's their salary range but I heard the bonus and medical coverage is good , except some of the Petronas staff complaint to me about the annual leave (about 14 - 16 days if I am not mistaken, for me is decent anyway)

Imagine Petronas could be in profit for quite some years consecutively, even when majority of them are Bumi, I am sure they only pick the good from the pool (Think about MAS who always loss in contrast).

It's 15 days per annum for exec smile.gif

Well , it took me 3 month to get my resume noticed by them, and 1 month after that , they called me again to schedule an interview. Prior to the f2f interview, u have to do online test about personality assessment. Aft 2 weeks, i called the hr about my application status, i was told rec to HR and waiting for the HR KL centre to call for med check up and aft that issuing offer letter. now 2 months  gone,i haven received their call from HR KL, i think there are too many candidates they have to handle.

You're lucky.
It took me 3 years! laugh.gif

Be patient. It could take months before they notice your resume, and call u for an interview should u r shortlisted.

Or in extreme cases, like me, 3 years.

Am I the only one who's been recommended for the last one month, but until now still didnt received any offer letter yet?

Am growing tired dealing with the HR executives. I really am.

Is it advisable to call the HR senior manager instead?

Am growing tired because they've been keeping me in the dark. No phone call, no email whatsoever.
They even didnt pick up when I call them a hundred times! Perhaps they got meeting(s) from 8 to 5 maybe?

Aiyoo, that is a story that you can write a book about. I think either in the Oil & Gas thread or this thread, I may have told part of the story.

Bro, mind telling us the whole story? hehe

Guys, I forgot to ask HR, what is the office hour for Petronas @ KLCC. is it 8 to 5, or 9 to 5p.m?

9 hours working, flexible time if I'm not mistaken.

If you come at 9am, go back at 6pm then.

Keep praying.
Read somewhere (in another forum) that 2 person who failed the test, still managed to secure positions in Petronas.

hi there...

i also had attended SI on the same day as you,on 26th June 2012...

also had the same case study and role play..hahaha..what a coincidence right!  cool2.gif

i got a call from HR saying that i am recommended on 10th July 2012 and they will contact me if there's further development...

i was puzzled and confused..did i get the job or not..?

i called them everyday since 10th July, but the answer they give is the same everytime..

i can't sit tight not knowing the answer, whether i got the job or not...  sad.gif

btw, what position did u apply?and did you called them for follow ups and updates?
good luck and all the best..hope we both will receive the good news soon

You need a lot of patience when dealing with their HR.

Normal rule, which is find the vacancy first before calling candidates for interview doesn't apply at PETRONAS.
In fact, strange as it seems, their method is backwards. They'll call you for interview first, and find the vacancy (for the successful candidates) later.

That's why, some candidates only secured their positions after a year of being recommended,
while some others were not offered any, although recommended at first (passed the SI).

So all you could do right now is keep praying, and keep calling them until the vacancy arises.
Good luck!

Project engineer is a jack of all trades kind of position. Generalist. Pretty hard, but not impossible, to get Ir.

Plant engineer, on the other hand, is not related to your qualification I'm afraid.

Process engineer is what you should aim for.

hi everyone..

i got call from PCSB HR last two weeks. She said that my reporting for duty is on 2nd September at Petronas kerteh..But untill today i didnt get any offer letter or guarantee letter to do the medical checkup. Do anyone know how long does it takes to prepare the offer letter? thank you.
*
PCSB HR is known for their slowness in completing tasks, even a normal one. My advise is keep calling them, and ask about the offer letter and the GL. Dealing with these people, whom 'tomorrow' means '10 days later' need a lot of patience. All the best.

but i thought normally the recruitment task is handling by HR in HQ ?

The one that called wanafnan to report duty at Kerteh is from PCSB.
These are the ones that I'm talking about.

Don't know much about other depts HR.
From what I've heard, the HR that took care of RAPID's new hire is slow as well, but not as slow as PCSB's.

Have some patience when dealing with Carigali's HR. Keep calling. Keep asking. And keep praying.

If you go through this very thread, you'll know how these people work.
Today means 8 days later.
We'll get back to you means no more phone calls/ emails.
And not to mention ignoring all the enquiries.

All the best.
