QUOTE(alhakam88 @ Sep 12 2012, 10:39 PM) Added on September 12, 2012, 10:54 pmI will be joining Petronas1 oct. I am seconded to PRSB. I heard, there will be technical allowances for those who are doing technical things apart from the basic salary. Since my background is petroleum engineering, I will be group under skg10. Anybody know what is skg10. thanks |

so..I've already passed the SI and now still waiting for my placement..however that was under PETH.
I also applied to another department, PCSB and recently they asked for my details. told them I already went to SI under PETH. the PCSB HR said I need to get sort of a 'release letter' from PETH first saying I've passed the SI but PETH haven't finalized my placement yet, then only PCSB can take me from them.. anyone faced similar experience before? I'm more interested in joining PCSB compared to PETH.. |

went to SI last May, only got my offer letter this week.
I know it has been repeated countless times, but have a lot of patience when dealing with the HR. they are superbly "efficient", if you know what I mean.. |

QUOTE(peishan1201 @ Oct 9 2012, 03:42 PM) is there any position suitable for business fresh grad? i graduates with degree and major in marketing.. from jobstreet, seems most of the jobs for engineering ppl..>.< none of the jobs for business fresh grad..>.< there's a lot of business grad in petronas, not just engineering..just upload your resume to discoverpetronas, that's how most of us got the offer.QUOTE(-Naz- @ Oct 9 2012, 04:55 PM) and today I got my offer letter with all those forms. Do I need return all those forms to HRM division in KLCC or just bring it to the place where I will report for duty? HR does not mentioned where I should return it, however I already signified the acceptance of scanned version of the offer letter and send an email to them. I believe they already mention when and where to submit those forms in the offer letter..check again. |

relax..petronas HR memang slow..
I had to wait for 1 month to be called for SI after submitting declaration form. had to wait another 1 month to be called for CBI (they didn't do my SI and CBI together). a week after the CBI, asked them if I'm recommended, they said yes. had to wait another 3 months to be called to come for medical checkup. on the day I'm supposed to do the medical checkup, didn't receive my medical checkup letter (the letter you give to the hospital in order for them to charge Petronas instead of paying yourself) until I ARRIVED at the hospital. then only got my offer letter. |

QUOTE(Mamakrider @ Oct 25 2012, 11:25 AM) Hey guys, never had experience with both, but if you could provide the job scopes for both offers I'm sure you'll get better response from others.I just got my internship offer at these two places: PCFK, Gurun and MALAKOFF, Prai at the end of this year. The HR for PCFK gurun told me that my allowance would only be Rm500 (instead of rm800, as u guys discuss about earlier). However, MALAKOFF, Prai agree to give a rm700 allowance to me. Can u guys share your opinion on this matter, in general, which one is a better offer? QUOTE(pakciklebah @ Oct 25 2012, 12:07 PM) Help me on this. as others have mentioned countless times in this thread, the HR can be slower than a siput. Anytime soon can mean 1 week or 1 year. Read the whole thread for other people's experience.I'm fresh graduate, convo last month. finished my SI early of this month and CBI last week. Got call from PCSB personnel mentioned that i passed both interview. She said that they are currently arranging available position 'anytime soon'. My questions are: 1. How long actually this 'anytime soon'? 2. It is compulsory for all new hired petronas worker to go for training? 3. Where expected working location for me? (junior executive, degree in chemical eng, Petronas Carigali) Still looking for job now, want to work but my friend suggested just wait for petronas, because it is hard to berhenti kerja when u get a job already. Please help me... My personal advice is just start working with any suitable offers you get. Why is it hard to berhenti kerja when you're already working? As long as you fulfill your resignation notice you won't have any problem resigning. Your friend who gave you that advice, is he already working or just a fresh graduate too? I hate when people give advices when they have no experience in it. It's not hard to berhenti kerja when you're already working, it's only hard to go for other interviews. |

QUOTE(alhakam88 @ Nov 14 2012, 09:26 PM) I guess you misunderstood my question, is it 1 year after being confirmed or after 1 year of working.technical allowance wasn't mentioned in the offer letter hence the reason some people get confused about it. |

QUOTE(xortz @ Jan 28 2013, 02:21 PM) they have been massively recruiting for the RAPID project since early last year..heard they need about 4000 engineers, and I'm one of them.we're currently being seconded to several OPUs, Kerteh, Melaka, Bintulu etc. After RAPID is completed in 2015 then only we'll be transferred to Pengerang..what my colleagues and I did was just upload our resume at discoverpetronas.com without applying for any job and then one day the HR called us to attend SI. all of us who are under the program have less than 3 years experience, so I'm not sure if it's different for people who have more experience. |

QUOTE(keii-kun @ Jun 9 2013, 09:20 AM) how does one, who went through all the interview, getting job offer and still asking details on the job? Is the job description not specifically mentioned in the job advert? shouldn't all these question asked to the technical manager that was in the interview session? what you're saying is true for most companies, but not petronas.they seldom advertise vacancies with the job scopes. even during the interview, the hiring manager and HR would explain only the overview of the job scope as there too many possibilities on which position they will give you. Even the offer letter doesn't specifically mention what the job scope would be. Mechanical Engineer? in what area? Drilling? Static? Rotating? you'll only know what your real work scope once you meet your superior on your first day of work. |

QUOTE(khairi90 @ Oct 1 2013, 08:25 PM) actually i send my resume to HR on 12/8. i got the HR email from my senior. they called me for chit chat call on 28/8, they called me again on 19/9 for confirmation to attend interview and my SI was on 27/9...seriously, i didnt expect that fast. for my case, it is about 1-2 months from application to SI. the result for SI straight away announced after the session on the same day. good for you. now the 2nd phase of waiting begins, which is for the offer letter. some of us took weeks, some even months to receive the offer letter after our SI result.don't get your hopes too high until there's black and white. until then go and apply for other jobs. |

QUOTE(yogurt7 @ Nov 4 2013, 10:48 AM) when will your 6 months probation's end? just asking, since I'm also still under probation, until next January 2014 (if the probation is 6 months). QUOTE(maumaju @ Nov 4 2013, 11:22 AM) very. difficult. to. not. get. confirmed.petronas working culture is like government la. mess up many times also won't get terminated. those who don't get confirmed are normally those with discipline problem (datang lambat, always MC, etc.) as long as you do what you've been assigned to you'll get your confirmation letter. u don't have to be extraordinary to 'survive' in this company. sad, but true. |
