yeah happened to me. my SI was 2 weeks ago. the HR said they'll call me again for chit chat session later..still haven't received any call though.

haha careful that HR is in this forum..saw him advertise in job enlistment before.

any mechanical grads recently recruited by Pet? already passed the SI and stuff. when I emailed the HR he said openings for mechanical will only be in november/december..this was last month

so..I've already passed the SI and now still waiting for my placement..however that was under PETH.

I also applied to another department, PCSB and recently they asked for my details. told them I already went to SI under PETH. the PCSB HR said I need to get sort of a 'release letter' from PETH first saying I've passed the SI but PETH haven't finalized my placement yet, then only PCSB can take me from them..

anyone faced similar experience before? I'm more interested in joining PCSB compared to PETH..

went to SI last May, only got my offer letter this week.

I know it has been repeated countless times, but have a lot of patience when dealing with the HR. they are superbly "efficient", if you know what I mean..

there's a lot of business grad in petronas, not just engineering..just upload your resume to discoverpetronas, that's how most of us got the offer.

I believe they already mention when and where to submit those forms in the offer letter..check again.

A few of my friends below 3.0 just attended the SI.

relax..petronas HR memang slow..

I had to wait for 1 month to be called for SI after submitting declaration form.

had to wait another 1 month to be called for CBI (they didn't do my SI and CBI together).

a week after the CBI, asked them if I'm recommended, they said yes.

had to wait another 3 months to be called to come for medical checkup.

on the day I'm supposed to do the medical checkup, didn't receive my medical checkup letter (the letter you give to the hospital in order for them to charge Petronas instead of paying yourself) until I ARRIVED at the hospital.

then only got my offer letter.

never had experience with both, but if you could provide the job scopes for both offers I'm sure you'll get better response from others.

as others have mentioned countless times in this thread, the HR can be slower than a siput. Anytime soon can mean 1 week or 1 year. Read the whole thread for other people's experience.

My personal advice is just start working with any suitable offers you get. Why is it hard to berhenti kerja when you're already working? As long as you fulfill your resignation notice you won't have any problem resigning. Your friend who gave you that advice, is he already working or just a fresh graduate too? I hate when people give advices when they have no experience in it. It's not hard to berhenti kerja when you're already working, it's only hard to go for other interviews.

after 1 year including probation period? anyway, doesn't the HR explain about this during PIPE or is it already mentioned in the Employee Handbook?

I guess you misunderstood my question, is it 1 year after being confirmed or after 1 year of working.

technical allowance wasn't mentioned in the offer letter hence the reason some people get confused about it.

they have been massively recruiting for the RAPID project since early last year..heard they need about 4000 engineers, and I'm one of them.

we're currently being seconded to several OPUs, Kerteh, Melaka, Bintulu etc. After RAPID is completed in 2015 then only we'll be transferred to Pengerang..what my colleagues and I did was just upload our resume at discoverpetronas.com without applying for any job and then one day the HR called us to attend SI.

all of us who are under the program have less than 3 years experience, so I'm not sure if it's different for people who have more experience.

what you're saying is true for most companies, but not petronas.

they seldom advertise vacancies with the job scopes. even during the interview, the hiring manager and HR would explain only the overview of the job scope as there too many possibilities on which position they will give you. Even the offer letter doesn't specifically mention what the job scope would be. Mechanical Engineer? in what area? Drilling? Static? Rotating?

you'll only know what your real work scope once you meet your superior on your first day of work.

good for you. now the 2nd phase of waiting begins, which is for the offer letter. some of us took weeks, some even months to receive the offer letter after our SI result.

don't get your hopes too high until there's black and white. until then go and apply for other jobs.

petronas working culture is like government la. mess up many times also won't get terminated.

those who don't get confirmed are normally those with discipline problem (datang lambat, always MC, etc.)

as long as you do what you've been assigned to you'll get your confirmation letter. u don't have to be extraordinary to 'survive' in this company.
