Not sure why the massive disappointment in the recent Pokémon direct.

It's more likely for switch owners to own a 3DS than a wiiu. Thus it is also more likely for switch owners to have played sun and moon than pokken.

Also a remake like stars for the switch will probably be 95% similar to the sun and moon on 3DS but with better graphics.
I'll be more hyped to play a great game I've never played than a "remake" of a game I played less than a year ago.

And if you really want sun and moon with 1080p graphics, you can just run it off an emulator at 1080p or 4K.

So yeah, I am really happy they announced pokken so soon for the switch. I'll be disappointed if they announce stars for the switch rather than pokken to be honest.

Sad that Pokken Tournament is getting so much undeserved shit because it wasn't the game people were completely overhyped for. It's a great Pokemon game and I am way more excited for it than Pokemon UltraSun/Moon even though I've already played it on the WiiU. September could not come soon enough...

Pokken is really good yeah, sorta thinking of rebuying it if I have some extra cash for it. Not sure what's wrong with Pokken either. Pretty sure Pokken coming to Switch is the right decision as well, because i'm pretty sure a lot haven't played it cuz they don't own a Wii U.

"To say this is one of the best-looking Switch titles to date would be an understatement. The character designs are excellent, bursting with colour and personality, while the environments are surprisingly detailed and complex. Everything whips along at a smooth 60fps and it's no exaggeration to say that the game looks every bit as good as anything you could offer up on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. ARMS is convincing evidence that the Switch has more than enough raw power to create visually impressive games, and this is a first-generation release; who knows what Nintendo will be capable of in another 12 months"

ARMS review.. The only true 100% switch game as of now.. Cant wait for oddysey! 😍

game freak never is a publisher for any pokemon game. they just devs for the mainline. spinoff is handled by other devs as game freak never involved in developing those since 1st ever spinoff title (which should be pokemon tcg)
mystery dungeon? spike chunsoft
stadium? Nintendo EAD
snap? HAL
ranger? HAL/creatures

edit: also everyone should know better on not believing 100% what insider say regarding unannounced stuff, except ubisoft-related. it's already obvious all the leaks before switch release comes from ubisoft staff as source. also as much as eurogamer is trustable, ppl still waiting for that mother 3 localization to exist lol

Dev for the mainline then. Statement about them being crinkly old farts who refuses to move with the times remain. Wait.....I can say the same with Nintendo too, until recently, with the Switch. tongue.gif

Looks like my Switch will remain dusty until Mario Odyssey, unless there's surprises at E3. Never put high hopes on the Big N, they're going three-for-three from the looks of it with the "Splatoon 2 voice chat wire octopus" and this "Pokemon Direct disappointment" * or not, depending on who you ask*.

Harsh love for ya, Nintendo....coz I wan't ya to dig yourself out of that shithole called WiiU. Although despite general consensus that the WiiU tanked, crashed and burn, some has stubbornly still declared it a "worthwhile" console. I'm embarrassed to admit I made that mistake in the early life of WiiU, am not going to make the same mistake again. Tempered expectations.

Based on what? This one instance where a rumoured Pokémon game did not turn up on your system of choice?

I wonder if ARMS will have a punch out like progression for single player.

Kinda different but not sure myself. Since only able to play the multiplayer part of it only.
Reviews are out too, average seems around 8-9/10, pretty good.

Hmm ppl selling their Wii U eh.. interesting I was thinking of selling mine too. Wanted to ask (if anybody knows).. I know you can't really unlink ur NNID from the WiiU the best you can do is delete your NNID and in future should you get another WiiU again is to transfer your games over.

Is there anyway i can remove my NNID for security purposes and also keep the games on the system as a potential "value" for selling the console?

Thanks for any advice

You need to call Nintendo and they could unlink it for you. No experience in it tho, but that's what most said. Same goes for 3ds.

Yeah I read that however they can't really unlink it so much as transfer it to another wii U.. the best course of action I read was to delete your NNID and then note down the machine's serial number etc etc... and if you get a new Wii U then call them. .. Hmm maybe i'll email them and ask. But knowing this type of customer service.. I'll probably get a generic answer that doesn't answer my question other than a few "associated words" lol.

Anyone going to down under don't bother to look for switch accessories nor the consoles at EB outlets, mostly are sold out and selling at higher price compared to other retail stores, unless there's a sales going on.

Bought me self a pro controller from Big W @ A$89, that's the cheapest I can find, Targets also selling at the same price, but mostly out of stock. EB selling at A$99, also no stock at most outlets. Joycons are selling around A$109 a pair, strangely some place selling the grey joycon more expensive than the neon pair.

Amiibo are mostly old stocks which no one else wants @A$15 mostly, spotted a few wolf link but selling at ridiculous price of A$50.

The aftermath of "that Pokemon announcement". Some of the choice responses are apt.

QUOTE
"People aren't against the system. It's the fact that after playing on what really is a handheld capable device that outputs a brilliantly sharp 720p image, they don't want to go back to a 240p screen. Switch is also a lot more comfortable to hold for most people."

"I've been against it from the start with its low power and even lower resolution."

"Playing games on 240p screen hurts after experiencing Switch."

"People want the 3DS to die so that Nintendo moves everything to the Switch and has a completely unified platform."

"Because of Nintendo's limited resources any new 3DS game feels like one less game for the Switch. Coupled with the feeling that the Switch is also a portable machine, why isn't the focus on the Switch?"

"I'm sorry, but I've always hated the 3DS, so I wouldn't be sad to see it go. I'm fine with games still being made for it, if they're also ported to Switch (like Fire Emblem Warriors) but that should stop next year as well. 3DS has had its time to shine, it's done and needs to die soon. Nintendo needs to put all of its attention and focus on making their new platform work."

"Because people are tired of 240p gaming. The Switch has shown us the light. Some calculators have higher resolution screens than the 3ds. Let that sink in. Before the Switch, we tolerated it because there was no alternative."

"Have a 3DS, Vita and a Switch. Would rather have all games on either Vita or Switch. The resolution of the 3DS is not making games look good imo."

Citra, the 3DS emulator, already shows how good 3ds games can look."

"People don't have a problen witg 3DS games coming out. They have a problem with them not being multiplatform with Switch."

"This. I've seen the Vita, I've played Switch on the go. The sooner we can get rid of those jaggy ass 3D models the better.
3D on DS was unplayably ugly most of the time, 3D on 3DS is okay, with gritted teeth.
Handdrawn 2D doesn't look great, either, so many details getting lost between those fat ass pixels."

Couple of things;

1. The 3DS is inherently different than the Switch and has its own ecosystem of games that can only be complemented by the system.

2. The 3DS has a large player base with 60 million units sold as oppose to the 3 million unit of Switch sold. Why would Nintendo abandon that?

3. I think the low graphics of the 3DS is one of the main reason why it's such a success. I think this allowed the developers to make games without needing a large budget and afford the games its low price point of $40 in the market. I mean isn't that why the Vita failed?

4. I'm not saying that there is never going to be a mainline Pokemon game on the Switch but just because it didn't come out this year as some people expect it to (based on rumors and speculation might I add) doesn't mean they get to act like entitled brats.
