Development takes time, but there are shit tons of indie games manage to make it in time during launch/launch window. People keep using "Nintendo didn't send a dev kit to them early" as an excuse to defend them, fine, i'll bite. But if that's true, then it further proofs how beta stage this is. Nintendo didn't even bother sending dev kit much earlier for them? Why other console launch manage to get so many games including Wii U but exclusively only on Switch where games are being pushed. I'm fine with new games coming much later, but games like Skyrim, minecraft, rayman legend where it existed in like 10 other platforms will be released this fall.
Not to mention the amount of indie games which requires "hey retweet this or keep saying you want this game then we'll consider".
Devkit are expensive as well. And you already know how lousy Nintendo is when producing hardware, takes forever for those who are waiting. They just slow.
Skyrim, and Rayman will have more content on Switch as far as I know, so yeah the reason why it takes time. I'm pretty sure the reason Skyrim was shown is just to show how the hardware can handle graphics although the game is old, but fans were talking about it, if the graphic is like that and such and handheld mode, it's gonna be awesome and etc.
I think it's pretty similar for most new console launch as well. When I bought PS4 on launch also the same, not all of the games gets released at the same time. Most new console is delayed much later mostly. Kinda the same for each stuff, early adopters have to be more patient. Would suggest to wait a year or so after launch mostly, and then more games will flood in after.
