Got my new car last week,  just hit 300km,and I started hearing some weird sound from the right of my dashboard.  Guess it's the known rattling noise...

Is it a common problem and can be easily solved by SC?

Yups. Thanks to the guy. I followed his method and then issue a complaint and possible solution to SC Bangi and they informed me they have fixed it. Left my car today for A & B services from 9am and at 12noon car is ready.

Picked up at 5pm after meeting n so far rattling sound does not occur.

Since this car doesn't have a hook behind the front passenger seat.

Curious if anyone install a hook for convenience... if yes, what would you recommend?

Insert a piece of sponge into the right A pillar cover gap.

So you solved it by putting something in the pillar A? Or the SC fixed for you already? How they fix it?

I Don think I should put something to solve the rattling sound, instead Honda should fix it permanently. Ain't gonna stuck a paper there for a new 100k++ car... Lol

I had get it fixed by SC.They will just open up the A pillar and dashboard. What they had done I am not sure as i left my car there for 2 days. However, I did mention on my last post regarding this issue after i came bk from SC. This rattling sound will continue after all especially if u are driving in areas with alot speed breakers. The more bumpy and uneven, the easier the rattling sound will come back. I believe there is yet to have a complete solution yet. Cross finger mine i drove for a week already after the fix there is no rattling sound yet but when I hit those super thick speed breaker especially those in red color I will still get some small rattling aound. Still bearable but when on uneven road there is no sound at all compare to before.

At first, I believe that SC should solve all my rattling problem given its 100k++ price. Yes they successfully fixed my ultrasonic sensor casing rattling problem which was giving me headache (literally) due to metallic rattling sound at high pitch. However for other rattling sources, i have started to diy by using sponge as long i don't dismantle the plastic cover. All i did was to insert sponge into those A pillar plastic gaps for dampening. It worked for me and a few others in this forum. Also under the dashboard cover right side near the steering column, there is a wire which brushes the plaster panel causing rattling. so i inserted a piece of sponge in between the wire and panel which solved the rattling. Those that i can solve diy without going to the service centre i will solve. But those rattling from my driver door armrest panel i cannot solve which I will lodge a complaint in my next service interval visit. And i hate making frequent visit to service centres.

I even inserted sponge under the third brake light casing which has reduced rattling noise. In short, i m curious whether toyota altis or mazda 3 or nissan sylphy has the same rattling problem.

Did u complain to them regarding all the scratches?

The technician who worked on my car rattling dashboard leaved a small mark on my cluster meter panel. Its like the anti-reflective coating has been chipped off or something and its very very visible.

I called them up and make a appointment for inspection tomorrow. I'm wondering will they even try to fix it for me since it might require them to change the whole cluster meter panel.
*
Yep. I did. The SA tried to polish it off by hand but it didn't work. Obviously because some of the scratches were quite deep.
He offered to have their resident detailer polish it for me but I don't want to proceed. My car is already coated and the only way to clear it is to use abrasive polishing to remove the coat and scratch. After that I'll need to re-coat the panels.

At least they try to help. The branch I went insisted that they wear glove when working on the dash board.

Will not caused such "chip" at the cluster meter and bla bla and keep saying they can't do anything.

Sienz... now gotta live with the small "chip" at my cluster meter.

I guess this is what people meant when they complained about Honda's SC.
Anyway this is still miles ahead of a particular conti brand I shall not name. Those fellas have redefined how low an SC can go.
