I noticed a unique feature of the car clock. When I drove to the most southern of Tuas, Singapore which is close to Indonesian waters, the clock was auto set to 1 hr late

When I drove up north it auto adjust back to normal time.

Wonder is this a feature built in to Civic?

Really disappointed with Honda QC.

Just less than a week old, my car now has a constant rattling sound from the steering wheel horn cover. When press lightly on the upper horn cover, the sound is gone.

And there is this occassionally really LOUD rattling sound from the push start button. Arghhh..

Now need to on music louder to make forget bout all these annoying noises. Speaking bout music, I read from previous post that some forummer complain bout the bad quality of the speaker? But mine seems pretty good with punchy bass. Honda changed the speaker?

Not sure about all SCs, but the one in Glenmarie doesn't do what they call "Checking" on the weekends. Wanted them to have a look at the usual rattling from the driver side dashboard during my service but was told that I would have to come in on a weekday.

I think there's only one on Jalan Ipoh.

Went to SC to report on the rattling sound on my dashboard when running on uneven road. The SA told me need to put my car there 2 days for them to inspect.
Told me that they will dismantle the whole dashboard to check and will test and make sure the sound is fully address to.
Feeling sad as the car is only 3mths old

Could have detected when collect car also
Shd lodge official complaint to let them take serious about it

Bought civic 1.5 tcp last november. Was totally surprised with the poor quality of modern honda car.

1) peeling clearcoat @ roof panel - fixed by SC with some questionable repaint quality (overspray & dripping)

2) uneven door paint rear RHS - fixed by SC. Acceptable quality

3) vsa clicking noise - not yet fixed

4) windshield rubber frame crack & torn causing wind crackling sound & possibly water leakage - this one really takes the cake. 4 months car, 7000km, 90% covered car park suffer from this issue. SC told rubber degraded. Warranty claim is quite hassle with long waiting period for replacement.

5) misaligned door - SC tried to fix by adjusting the rubber seal. But does not solve the problem at all. Still misaligned as if the car had an accident & had a bad repair job.

6) various rattle, creaks & odd noise in the car - can somehow live with it but.. Come on..

7) lots of dust trapped in the meter cluster - same above

8) twisted & inconsistent rubber seals around doors & trunk space - same above

disappointed & regret with the purchase. Never had this much problem on a brand new car before, not even a proton or perodua. Wondering if im expecting too much for a 130k car..

I think since honda brand is very very popular nowadays, they start to skip several process/do it hastily to catch up more sales. These days, honda cars are like 6 out 10 in the traffic light queue.. Compromise on quality is just unacceptable. I thought this civic is an answer to my problematic passat.. turns out to be the same. lucikly no issue on transmission & engine yet.

never before I bought a new car & thinking to sell it off just after 4 months

Good morning folks. I noticed that I have this rubber triangle at the corner of the front-passenger door (top-left corner), but I don't have the same on the drivers side door. Do you guys have this on your drivers door?
Mine is just bare metal at the corner.

Ok thanks. I never had this on the drivers door since I picked the car up.
I'll try to talk with the SC/SA when I go for 1K service, hopefully they give me one for the driver's door.

almost got all thing done....waiting JPJ number....
then surrender car....next week should be my turn...

Many companies, including Honda (M), pushing sales and compromised quality. Just want to assemble as many as possible. They know the existing issues/defects but yet let it "handover" to car owners. If car owner found the defects.. then it's the trouble of the car owner to deal with SC. They care less about the car owner's time spent @SC, headache, money, etc.

I used to drive VW Polo. DSG gear problem. VW don't care. I have to deal with SC for many occurrences. VW's SC is so difficult to deal with. Any spare parts need to wait at least 2 weeks. Need whole day for a simple engine oil change... send in 9a.. get car back 5p. What the hack! Sell the car. Then buy Civic 1.5T... damn. Got defects too. Ok, managed to get them fixed after 2-3 rounds to SC. Then engine oil leaks after send for interval service . Lousy Honda's SC.

Next car... Toyota

Got my 1.8 changed to fully leathered. SA sent to do it for me before I collect the car. but it's not done in house, it's somewhere else. Should be no problem with airbags.

Make sure you get those with no holes on it, else lots of dust. Also, less design on the stitching​/finishing means easier to wipe too.

Attached photos of front and back seats. Not too sure how durable these are yet though.

There's a lot of colour to choose from, but I chose black because I felt it is harder to spot dirt on the black. If I chose a light colour it would be easy to spot dirt and smears, then I need to kuat kilat the leather very often.

Also, opt for leather that is not perforated (those with lots of small holes ones). Those will trap dirt, and when you wipe with leather conditioner, you might end up with the conditioner inside the hole if you're not careful and the holes become whitish.

One thing I regret is to put the design strip in the middle of the front seats. It is purely cosmetic and also means more troublesome to wipe and it looks like will traps dirt in between the stitches over time.

My Honda SA showroom is PJ seksyen 13. There's a SA there which has a 1.8 with leather seats. So you can ask the SA to show you.

Turn ur headlight Auto Position to small head light position , that won't trigger ur headlight automatic to turn on suddenly and the day light will definitely reduce and become less bright , try it and u will understand me

You could check under vehicle >  lighting settings in the HU. I remember there is an option to play with the auto headlight timer, not sure if it can be turned off

the point here is how the other drivers feel as they might thought being flashed at, yeah its a damn good/useful features but at least HM can readjust the sensitivity to really on it when it's really darker outside

Got my new car last week,  just hit 300km,and I started hearing some weird sound from the right of my dashboard.  Guess it's the known rattling noise...

Is it a common problem and can be easily solved by SC?
