The KM3 is better than the KM9... Don't let the numbers confuse.. smile.gif

Thanks bro! I have another concern here. Any downside that is already known of in KM3? As in stability, connectivity, etc.

Hmm.. Hard to tell at this point as I don't personally own the device. As such will have to rely on other owners feedback... Perhaps later, I'll skim around and report back.

Thanks a lot! Btw, I did some searches on the specs of KM3 and KM9 Pro, in the OTA section (shown in the screenshot), it indicates "not Support Firmware(Bugs) Upgrade". Should I be worried about this? Is this the only tvbox that does not support firmware upgrade?

Did some light browsing and indeed you seem to have raised a valid point. As far as I can tell, Mecool aren't very good/reliable at releasing official software updates and the KM3 or even the older KM8 (from August 2018) has yet to receive an official OTA/Local update. So one would have to rely heavily on custom ROMs and fixes from the community. So far, I'm unsure one exists. So be prepared to live with whatever FW bugs present on it for quite awhile. This IMO would be a significant con compared to the Mibox S. At least, Xiaomi does update that and there's an official support group. So if updates are important to you? I would be worried about that.

As for issues I found.. There appears to be a black screen problem experienced on some devices. So have one with a warranty just in case. Another issue would be that the Sleep mode on the current firmware is broken. Fortunately, there's an easy workaround to fix that on the current FW. Hopefully a future FW fixes that too.

Fortunately I don't have this on M8S Pro L nor KM3. On km3 there's no direct OTA yet however there few fw available from freaktab but since the box works well without glitch I don't see it as a concern. The box is set to off or on when I press the power button on the remote. I have not tried the sleep mode cos I prefer to power down

I used the sleep mode frequently on the M8S Pro L last time.. Part of the test driving.. IIRC, seemed okay... Can talk to crazy2 guy above if he's willing to buy yours.. smile.gif

Listen to megahertz... You yourself actually answered your question.. Think about it.. If apps people frequently use can't run on it? then those who require such apps won't consider purchasing it.

For the TV, android or not, it is not the most important evaluation criteria. Most TV, android or not, already have the native and certified version of Netflix running.

However, sometimes people have requirement to run additional apps, this can only be fulfiled by an external android box. Example, AstroGo, YouTube without annoying advertisement which is suddenly louder than your nominal volume settings.

If you want to do this work, you must be prepared to brick the device ( the worst case ) and then learn enough to recover from it.

If you are not prepared to learn anything, then my advise is don't do it. wink.gif
