Hi, I have the Minix Neo U9-H for about six months now and recently (forced) upgraded(sideload) to version 8.2.1 AOTG. However I realised that while i can still watch the channels, the picture quality now fluctuates from almost HD to VCD(or worse) and sometimes back to almost HD and the cycle starts all over again. I normally watch the Sports and chinese On Demand channels. Exiting the channel i am watching and going back in gives me clear picture again but within minutes the picture blurs.  Anyone getting the same experience?

Thanks.

I'm also using 8.2.1 on my Minix U1 but no such issue as described above. Try to reinstall again?

I did reinstall :-(. I actually thought someone at A has found a way to discourage Minix owners from watching anything on AOTG. Will try again though to reinstall. Thanks for your response.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. While looking for more information on android box, I found out that they have pure android OS and the newer android TV OS. The latter's Google Play store does not has much apps, but they can sideload the apk - seems like more job there to get installation done. I read that MeCool M8S Pro L is quite a popular choice with the people in the forum, but it is an android TV OS. May I know, which one gives a better user experience - pure android OS box or android TV OS box ?

Thanks

If it is not true, how can I watch these channel beside by astro?

I wouldn't say it's the popular choice.. However, after a couple days with it AND knowing my tech abilities.. if I had to buy a sub RM300 box today? I would grab the Mecool M8S Pro L with voice remote. With higher budget? Definitely either the Nvidia Shield 500GB or Minix Neo U9-H.. The Mecool is a nice mix between Android TV OS and regular Android OS. Installing apps from the store or side-loading is a piece of cake.. Launch File manager, find apk and hit install button. Easy.. I did a hands-on mini-review and other owners chipped in.. So do a search for my post and read from there.. You can also search back for older comments about the box too..

Yeah.. I'm not going to front. In terms of apps launching and exit (particularly Kodi), I actually think it's a faster box than my Minix Neo U1. Can't speak for its reliability yet as it's only been a few weeks and it's owner won't use it as hard as I use my Neo U1. Guym has had it longer, so far so good. Thing is, for those who plan to flash this and that on it? Better to deal COD in order to confirm which hardware version it is.. As there's at least 3 different versions of the same box and I believe only one boasts easier & more customisable fw flashing options. I ordered randomly from China and the box I got was the more hassle one.

Same here.. What to do.. On the plus side, each revision (like networking routers) tends to fix a major issue that plagued the previous one. Such as Bluetooth and wireless issues on one. So I guess it's okay la.. It's a cheap mass produced box and they don't have as much time and cash to play around with on longer R&D efforts like their bigger rivals. I be keeping my eye on this Mecool guys.. smile.gif

This is common for certain devices and or firmware.. Basically, it's the app's fault. But TM will say it's your device as it's made for legit phones and tablets.. Not tv boxes. So no choice..

You are welcome. Do know that you'll require an airmouse of sorts for max ease of use. I used it with the Minix Neo A2 Lite airmouse and works well.
