I believe this could be root issue. I face similar issue before.
Where my box is original rooted, but unrooted with unsu scripts.

With that my box can start aotg however alot channel cant open or opened in SD mode.

The way i solved this is flashed magisk and hide root for aotg.

This has been working for my 2 S912 boxes, H96pro+ and T95Zplus cloned.

Can u kindly fwd me any link on the process to flash magisk.. want to do it on my x92.. been planning to do so for ages but occupied with work.. thinking of flashing it this wkend.. thx in advance bro

Google for it.
Not sure what X92 firmware you are having.
Always backup before proceed and google on how tobulget and use twrp.

Typical step as follows:-
1) flash/install twrp if not available. This can also put on sdcard snd boot from it. But many android 7.1.2 doesnot work.
- i suggest you to google "xda ricky armlogic tool".
- latest version is 4.x
-inside got a tool to backup your recovery and create twrp version to flash back into the box.

2) google unsu.zip - optional here
-it is use to make sure no superuser (root)
-to use just flash this file via twrp

3) google xda magisk
-flash via twrp

4) install magisk manager apk to hide root for the app intended.

Hi all, I'm new to these Android tv boxes. Have read page 1 and some of the recent pages, but a few things still not very clear (will ask below).

I'm thinking of getting a box around the 300+ price range, like TX9 PRO or T95Z Plus.

Here are some questions:

1. As I know, what you can watch or do on the box depends on the apps installed right?

2. Most of the boxes have some pre-installed apps like: YouTube, Google Play Store, Kodi 17.6, Iflix, NetFlix, Terrarium TV, Newest Movie HD, Megabox, Popcorn Time, etc. etc. Are the content on these apps free or must pay?

3. Can I watch live sports or news from the above installed apps? Or I have to install new apps? When you guys write about AOTG or Unifi, these are additional apps right?

4. Claims by some sellers of free channels, watch everything etc. This means those people have installed some ahem apps that have illegal channels right?

5. To navigate the tv box easier I should get an air mouse or keyboard?

6. What extras do I get if choose to up budget and get something like the Minix U9-H? Worth the extra money?

Thanks all.

1. Yes.. This has been repeated so many times already.. I really have no idea how else to explain it.
2. Some.. Not most. Typically what happens is that the seller is the one that pre-installs apps on the box. The average box manufacturer doesn't care for such. Exceptions would be in the case of say Evpad boxes cuz they be selling services too.
3. No! Install yours.
4. Yes! See 2 above.
5. Subjective. I prefer an airmouse but that's cuz I've got a good one. Not all airmouses are created equal.
6. IMO..YES! But really depends on your needs. If a cheaper box can.. By all means get one. But if can, I always spring for a decent box from Minix. They know their stuff and it's compatible with AOTG & Unifi TV.. No fuss.

Summarily.. Buy good box.. Get good stuff on it..enjoy.. If you can't.. Pay someone else to or continue research.

Good to know Minix is compatible with AOTG & Unifi TV. To use AOTG must have an existing Astro account? Or can just pay to subscribe to AOTG?

I've been using the Minix Neo A2 Lite airmouse. If getting the Neo U9-H, then get the updated Neo A3 Airmouse too. If you won't be doing any 4K and or plus hdr at all, then Minix Neo U1 is still okay, except not as future proof in terms of updates and you might upgrade your AV equipment. As for what apps to install for sports and news..live TV.. Best to search this thread for earlier suggestions or Google.. You'll find a few for sure. Alternatively, there are premium services to.. My advice, go for monthly subs, rather than those one-time lifetime subscription model. Doesn't mean they don't work, but I've had better experience with good monthly payment ones. Plus, they usually cost around $4 - $10 per month and come with other perks like EPG and VOD..Again Google. Sorry, can't discuss such here and don't kindly don't pm for such.. It's still ehem stuff. So.. whistling.gif

AOTG got free and premium content. Usually, people borrow or copay for their family's or friend's login details. I'm unsure if one can simply get premium without being a proper subscriber. You'd have to wait on others or check with Asterruk about that.

Edit.. There's also the Mecool M8S Pro L 3GB 32GB box.. Seems alright to me and is cheaper than the Minix Neo U9-H. Though requires some legwork to make it great. If interested, make sure to get the one with the voice remote. It's probably a different firmware that's more compatible with AOTG.. This is hit and miss.. Go with Minix if you don't want the hassle.

Hi guys,

Any in this thread got buy those TV boxes from China? I saw a couple that claims to work overseas (ie no region area restrictions). But flaw is chip is based on the older ones and Android version is 4.4. Got 6 lifetime memberships there to watch free shows including iQiyi.

If you happen to have one, please share your experience. I did have one android box from China maybe 3 years ago, that time internet to China seems slow and a lot of shows say can play only in China.

If I buy one and find the China apps to be crap, can I just reset the box and reinstall to the latest English Android version? Would there be firmware issues?

Thanks.

Hi all, completely noob here. Looking for a tv box that can see movies. Currently my tv can't even view local free tvs, don't know what happen to the cables.

Also if the tv box can see Australia channels (ABC, ABC News, Seven, Ten etc) that will be the best.

Any recommendations? thanks.

Hi everyone,

I do not watch movies online. Normally, I just download them and watch it on my Kworld media player which was connected to my TV. Now, my media player just went dead and I am thinking of getting an android media box to replace it.

May I know does all the android box support local files like mkv, avi, mp4 with srt subtitle as well as language switch (some movies like anime has dual language selection i.e. japanese and english) ? Please do recommend me a good unit which can do the job.

Thank you

Hi, I have the Minix Neo U9-H for about six months now and recently (forced) upgraded(sideload) to version 8.2.1 AOTG. However I realised that while i can still watch the channels, the picture quality now fluctuates from almost HD to VCD(or worse) and sometimes back to almost HD and the cycle starts all over again. I normally watch the Sports and chinese On Demand channels. Exiting the channel i am watching and going back in gives me clear picture again but within minutes the picture blurs. Anyone getting the same experience?

Thanks.
