Hey guys, been using Himedia Q1 for about three years..served me well so far, but lack of software update for it limits the app that I can use (still at android 4.4 cry.gif)

Based on performance chart, H96 Pro+ seems within my budget.

My daily usage is live streaming (iptv) and youtube. Weekly movie time using kodi. Looking forward to install astro on the go or tonton (can't be installed on current Q1).

I just need a box that is future proof & constant software support update.

Should I give H96 Pro+ a go?

Switch tactic.. Download the Astro Go apk itself and manually install. Bypass the Google Play Store. Only way to get certain apps that are device locked/dependent.

Thanks, worked flawlessly. Moving from himedia q1 to minix u9h is like day and night.

How long does a set of batteries usually lasts on A2? Read a lot of complaints on its battery consumption

Just thinking do you prefer to buy extra for an empty tv box or already come with preinstalled apps?

As I see those empty boxes is more cheaper by 100 bucks compare to those come with preinstalled apps. Example, for me, I have install Kodi before on my own. So was just thinking is those preinstalled anything special that I can install on my own just by search apk around or through playstore?

if you know how to install kodi addons/subtitles/etc. then ure better off buying an empty box.

those with preinstalled software are for those who are lazy or just aren't tech savvy..imagine asking ur mum to install kodi with addons biggrin.gif

Is there a way to limit what Youtube channel that can be viewed? Safe Mode only filters out inappropriate content, but I want to 'restrict' what channel can be viewed..

E.g. I want my son to only be able to watch videos on 'abcxyz' channel.

The hard way is for me to download each video and put it in a video player..

finally after 3years using minix x8-h, my device failed last few days. not sure what happen, no display came out.

bought new minix u9-h since i always trust minix for the software support update.

previously want to buy mi box due android TV os, but seem like got few limitations, i might skip it.

im using minix because
- ds video from synology nas, stream movie
- astro on the go
- support lots of codec
- software support( most important), heard update for android 7 is on the way

I own a minix u9h and it does its job well. Or maybe I just haven't utilize it to its full potential yet.

I think that their software technical support could've been better. You may check minix u9h firmware forum and notice a lot of update request from users have gone unanswered lately. sweat.gif

seems like support for minix boxes are pretty much non-existant..last update for its boxes was ages ago..and now their forum cant even be accessed.

if I had the chance to start over I'll just go and grab the Shield..but other than that minix is a pretty solid box.

Why would you guys be using Netflix where there are countless VOD apps that stream free movies and series etc?

Any other reason besides wanting 4k quality? Maybe you guys just too loaded and dont know where to splurge?

Don't have to be loaded to enjoy netflix..just need to know where to find the cheapest source for subscription.

Since your tablet is still able to access iFlix for free... Register an account using it and the app will auto-link your sub to that account. Then you can now login elsewhere using the same account. Expiry date will remain same.

Since u guys are talking about iflix..any idea why my iflix account expiry date keep extending by itself? I'm not complaining but I still can't figure it out.

I have never paid a cent for its subscription nor use any code. I'm on digi infinite & minix u9h by the way.

hi guys, looking to purchase Minix U9-H. But checked in Lowyat Plaza, did not find it. Asked the people in IT Hypermarket, they said latest Minix products are discontinued from Malaysia?

Anyone knows any physical shop selling this box, other than Lazada or Shopee? Checked Shopee and Lazada, but no good reviews for any sellers. So a bit scared to buy from there.

Bought mine from this link. Combo-ed with A3 remote.
