Hi everyone,
I do not watch movies online. Normally, I just download them and watch it on my Kworld media player which was connected to my TV. Now, my media player just went dead and I am thinking of getting an android media box to replace it.
May I know does all the android box support local files like mkv, avi, mp4 with srt subtitle as well as language switch (some movies like anime has dual language selection i.e. japanese and english) ? Please do recommend me a good unit which can do the job.
Thank you

QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Jul 7 2018, 08:29 AM) any box can do. just install kodi or mx player will do. chipset look for those s905x or s912. ram/rom at lease 2gb/16gb in case you need install more app. Hi, Thank you for the reply. While looking for more information on android box, I found out that they have pure android OS and the newer android TV OS. The latter's Google Play store does not has much apps, but they can sideload the apk - seems like more job there to get installation done. I read that MeCool M8S Pro L is quite a popular choice with the people in the forum, but it is an android TV OS. May I know, which one gives a better user experience - pure android OS box or android TV OS box ? Thanks

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jul 9 2018, 07:16 PM) I wouldn't say it's the popular choice.. However, after a couple days with it AND knowing my tech abilities.. if I had to buy a sub RM300 box today? I would grab the Mecool M8S Pro L with voice remote. With higher budget? Definitely either the Nvidia Shield 500GB or Minix Neo U9-H.. The Mecool is a nice mix between Android TV OS and regular Android OS. Installing apps from the store or side-loading is a piece of cake.. Launch File manager, find apk and hit install button. Easy.. I did a hands-on mini-review and other owners chipped in.. So do a search for my post and read from there.. You can also search back for older comments about the box too..
Thanks for the info.

Hi All,
Needed to ask you guys some questions on the HDMI connection between an andriod TV box and TV.
I have a Sony 40W600B TV. It has the following 4 HDMI ports :-
1) HDMI / MHL 2) HDMI 3) HDMI (DVI) 4) HDMI (ARC).
My android TV box (evpad & M8SL) can only be able to connect to HDMI/MHL port on the TV with image and sound. But it has nothing when connected to the other ports.
May I know why ? Does Android TV Box only works in HDMI/MHL port ? Not the other ports ?
Thank you
