QUOTE(elea88 @ Feb 28 2017, 09:49 PM) Just want to point out something that has been discussed in previous posts. That the best time to buy funds is when the valuations are cheap, and not when the sales charges are cheap. Of course, there are many other factors to consider. |

NOOB QUESTION ALERT :
Should I really include Cash Management Fund into the Polarbearz Excel? Wouldn't it screw up the entire portfolio allocation analysis? Ideally we want to analyse our percentages of equities and bonds, but CMF is almost like savings account. Kindly enlighten me. |

That's for SG market. Competition is stiff there. Not only you have 2 competitors, banks are also joining into the competition. Some banks SC is only 0.75%-1%.FSM SG is trying to make itself a one stop shopping place for everything. Even if you are noob in investing, can use their AI call MAPS which will buy/sell/switch for you stocks/ETF/bonds/UTs without any input from you. Great concept. Only flaw is it cost 0.5% pa platform fees. Not sure if additional normal platform fees also apply. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Feb 28 2017, 11:15 PM |

Any comments on this fund (I only buy shariah-approved fund)? RHB Islamic Global Developed Markets
My current portfolio: - RHB IBF: 38% - Aladdin fund: 38% - PMB Shariah Aggressive Fund: 4% - CIMB Islamic Asia Pacific Equity Fund: 19% According to the factsheet, the fund has some allocation in Australia, which my current portfolio doesn't have. Good idea to buy it just to fill in this hole? |

QUOTE(imnotabot @ Mar 1 2017, 05:46 AM) Any comments on this fund (I only buy shariah-approved fund)? RHB Islamic Global Developed Markets How many % of Australia are in that fund? How many % of that fund do you want to hv in yr portfolio? Then calculate to see how many % of Australia will be in yr portfolio......is it meaningful & effective for migtigation & diversification? My current portfolio: - RHB IBF: 38% - Aladdin fund: 38% - PMB Shariah Aggressive Fund: 4% - CIMB Islamic Asia Pacific Equity Fund: 19% According to the factsheet, the fund has some allocation in Australia, which my current portfolio doesn't have. Good idea to buy it just to fill in this hole? Not necessary to hv to get ALL missed out countries in yr portfolio filled up That is just my thought... ex,.... 4.3% of Australia in that fund 10% of that fund in the portfolio 0.43% of Australia in the portfolio This post has been edited by T231H: Mar 1 2017, 07:13 AM |

QUOTE(skynode @ Feb 28 2017, 10:26 PM) NOOB QUESTION ALERT : actually there's no wrong or right. My personal preference, i didn't include the CMF money in my portfolio monitoring. To be fair, i didn't do any selling profit taking, etc.Should I really include Cash Management Fund into the Polarbearz Excel? Wouldn't it screw up the entire portfolio allocation analysis? Ideally we want to analyse our percentages of equities and bonds, but CMF is almost like savings account. Kindly enlighten me. So, it is enough by purely monitoring my invested funds. Also because i treat CMF like my savings account not FI, so i have too many transactions to monitor. |
