Indeed, I took out the Crucial P5 and plugged it into my 5600X on B550 Tomahawk full UEFI (CSM disabled) and it boots into windows 10 blue logo in 2 seconds after I entered the password.

But gigabyte tech supports said, "No problem with their UEFI BIOS and blamed it on Veracrypt and user"  doh.gif
Duh, non encrypted disk also has the same problem. bangwall.gif

......Since April 2020? What the hell Gigabyte engineers have doing for the past 6 months +?

Guess I should swap my B550 Tomahawk and X570 Aorus Master for my 5950X?
On the other hand, I rarely shut down the X570 PC as it is server.....Hmmm.......sigh....it just too troublesome to take thing apart by now. sad.gif

Note:
5600x + B550 Tomahawk = IF 2000Mhz with 2 16GB DIMMS (32GB total) at 4000Mhz stable with no WHEA error brows.gif

But the primary and the most important build = aduhai.....

Anything I'm missing out on the latest AGESA updates?

Currently working off a B550 Phantom Gaming ITX, current BIOS is "AGESA 1.1.0.0 patch C". Haven't had much time to mess with the BIOS but so far it's been unable to push RAM beyond 3733 with 1866 IF Clock. I suppose SOC voltages could be increased, but I've done 1.1V already and I reckon that should be sufficient?

Yeah, almost 10 months already. I bet they put the priority as low for UI issue.

Now you make me wanna go for it. Must resist!

it's the agesa bro... and alot of small tiny but irritating details. I swap few motherboards and few cpu and few ram and see inconsistent outcomes. welcome to the AMD experience... especially if you wanna push it beyond stock. (such as 2000Mhz IF).

You might not know but it may also be because of your CPU has poor silicon lottery etc. so changing to the best mobo wont make much difference.

sluggish uefi bios normal.. had used almost all brands in the market and I feel all are about the same. cant expect it to be super smooth especially with all the extra bloat displays. Instead of using the mouse to navigate, just use the up down arrow keys. much more efficient (and you wont feel the sluggishness anymore).

to be honest I prefer the good old bios with minimal UI.

Need some help here.
I am planning to upgrade my current desktop: Below are the specs:
MOBO : H110M-K
CPU : Intel i5-6400
GPU : Asus Nvidia 1060
Ram : 16G 2133mhz (2x8gb)
SSD : 120gb + 1 tb HDD
Actually i am planning to buy rtx 3060 soon.
But at the same time i also planning to upgrade my CPU to ryzen family.
Should I wait till zen 4 come out? or
buy ryzen 5 3600 together with new mobo and ram
or buy new 10400F together with new mobo and ram (as it is cheaper)

Ps : i am still play games at 1080p

if 3600, better to get 10400F but best to wait for intel’s b560 boards.

To wait b560 mobo?

intel’s upcoming mid/budget mobo, so it’ll be cheaper than z490 and probably even amd’s B550

And this time it allows memory overclocking unlike intel B460, so.. the new b560 might very likely be a budget build price/performance king.

Oh? I thought I am the only one who encountered same issue.
My 5950x IF also can't boot at 1900mhz. Need to reset the bios.
However, it is able to run at 1866Mhz just fine. Which mean DDR4 running at 3733Mhz.
But I set my timing at CL18.
Hynix MJR.

[attachmentid=10758784]
I tried your advise to pump more voltage to CCD, IOD and VSOC too. But even pumping these 3 with 1.15v, 1.15v and 1.20v respectively, still can't boot with IF 1900 nor 2000.

However, IF 1866 can run just fine without those voltage modification.

Perhaps irangan also fully use 4 DIMM similar to me?

When I uncoupled the IF with Mclk, I can run my 4 DIMM at 4200Mhz with 1.35V and no modification to CCD,IOD and VSOC voltage.

Same issue as yours then. Maybe my 5900x is lousy bin. haha. 2 ram stick only.

Need AGESA 1.1.9.0 for more "stable" fabric oc. Wait for new BIOS.

Any rumor when? Seems that Gigabyte is always late to Agesa update

QUOTE(TristanX @ Jan 16 2021, 08:18 PM)
Yeah, I used Asus C7H before. Not even a hint of lag. Clearly Gigabyte issue.

CSM delays. Faced the same issue here too

compare 3600 to 10400F, the reason to get10400 is it because of cheaper price?
In term of perfornace 3600 outperform 10400f alot, as a lot people say that

if you're using it for more intensive work, then 3600 would be better.

but if you're using it purely for gaming, then 10400F for its single core performance would be better.

Thing is, 10400F is usually recommended with a B460M board that caps at ram speed at 2666Mhz.
The new B560M board allows memory OC

3600 outperform 10400 only in benchmarks. Not so much in real world.. infact you probably cant tell cuz it’ll be like few seconds difference in actual rendering.

However in games you can see the 3600 struggle. Im personally using a 3600 and can see it’s bottlenecking my RTX3080 alot and the fps is noticeable. The 10400 wont have this issue, mostly due to better memory latency.

so it all boils down to which mobo youre getting for the amd... B450 or B550. if B450, go ahead with 3600. if B550, maybe consider waiting.

what i am thinking is that, next zen 4 is coming soon. i doubt b550 mobo will support new socket.

Probably a refresh of 5,000 series with XT.

AM5 Zen4 series will likely come only on 2022, even then first gen of DDR5 I wouldn't suggest getting it.

and no, Zen4 will definitely be on a different platform.
