Guys i need advice on Maybank American Express Platinum card, RM800 anual fees...is it good to use? Anyone got this card? Is it a metallic card?

Previously someone advice me to get FCB signature visa maybank and it's really beautiful. The card was metallic on the outside so nice.

If you’re talking about this one, it’s definitely good looking.

For the platinum Maybank one, forget it. Not worth to pay 800 for laugh.gif

1% OCBC Titanium only for online spending.
For retail spending suggest Hong Leong Essential.

First 5k - RM 30 (RM 5k x 0.6%)
7k - RM 70 (RM 7k x 1% unlimited)
Total RM 100.

Thanks for summarising! Yes, I did fully claim the rm85 cap from scb just one. Among your recommendation, I think it’s just Rhb platinum business and hlb essentials have unlimited cb, Amex cb gold have how much cap? I will be swiping around 120k per month, currently use mbb 2card Amex x5point, very limited tp outlet spend.

1. Annual Income: RM 36,000

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Prefer Liftetime free/can call CS to waive

3. Card required for: Cashback on top of existing cards

4. Existing credit cards (if any):UOB ONE card / UOB YOLO CARD (to be cancelled)

5. Interested in CC from: Any

6. Others: To have higher cashback on ALL retail purchase (not the typical 0.2%) and online shopping bonus to complement or substitute UOB ONE, would be better if the online bonus is applicable for Google Play Store/Steam purchase.

Hi, according to few of my friends who used Amex on Play Store, they said they didn't really receive any discount for it and its only applicable for retail purchasing. Is there any other good alternative?

Thank you.

If AmEx is supported and transacted on weekends, for sure will get cash back. It covers everything.

Yup all transaction but Lazada doesn’t support Amex. Can try 11street instead. MBB 2 card Amex is really good with 5% CB max RM50/month on all transaction on weekend. Only downside is it being Amex which is not widely accepted in Malaysia. But in case you wonder it comes with an additional visa/MasterCard but only good for 1x point collection. Oh did I mention Amex also include 5x points on top of the CB. On weekday Amex only got points no CB

Another card to recommend is public bank quantum card with 5% CB for online and dining (check PBB forum for full list of merchant/eligible website) but max RM30/month good for RM600 spending

PBB Quantum MasterCard

What is the best CC for earning miles (analysing RM/mile for Enrich/Krisflyer/Asia Miles) with minimum income requirement of RM60k below for:
1. Overseas spend (non-AMEX)
2. General local spend (non-AMEX)

I would like to get a card to earn miles while not able to use M2C Amex and not able to apply for Maybank Visa Infinite or RHB Premier Visa Infinite
