1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM60K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: List all your needs. Petrol

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil

5. Interested in CC from: Maybank petronas ikhwan card or Maybank2card for the AMEX card

6. Others: Please be specific: I am travelling by car over 120km everyday, so i am looking for card with the most points reward or cash rebate.

Please recommend the best solution. Thank you.

But, for Petronas Visa, the benefit only for weekends? I am refilling petrol every 2 days. That is why I am considering the Amex (maybank2kard) for the 5x points reward, but not sure if can be used at most petrol pumps or not  confused.gif
*
where are you located?

if you are nearby Petronas Puchong-Sg Besi Bypass, go there on weekend.

buy petronas gift card, reload the gift card with mbb ikhwan petronas there. assuming your daily mileage of 120km consumes RM20 petrol per day, 5-day week is RM100 petrol worth. so, reload the petronas gift card for about rm100 per week usage or rm200 for about 2 weeks usage. at least the gift card credit can be used anyday.

caveats are:

1) only one petronas location so far reported allow cc to reload gift card. and also tng too. waze this >> Petronas Puchong-Sg Besi Bypass
2) reload on weekend, sat and sun. pump with gift card if needed on weekdays, pump at any petronas on weekends.
3) there is a surcharge when reloading gift card/tng card. if reload RM100, surcharge is 1% or RM1. reload rm150, surcharge is RM2 (rounded up). RM100+RM1 surcharge will be both charged to the card, and in return should get 8% cb for that amount (RM101).

add-on:

Petronas Hartamas got sell Gift card Rm100 with value RM105 inside card. cannot use cc to buy. use cash to buy this gift card first. upfront got 5% extra dy. then drop by Petronas Puchong-Sg Besi Bypass on future weekends to reload.

Is Hong Leong Mach the best cinema and dining card? I know there's Maybank 2 combo card but Amex is not always accepted in most eateries as compared to VISA..

I've already got Maybank Ikhwan Gold and Petronas card for TouchnGO and petrol respectively.. tongue.gif

HLB Mach with Movie category: 10% thumbup.gif

if you choose TrendSetter package (for Dining), you'd need to addon package for Movie (RM5 per quarter).
if you choose Social package (for Movie), you'd need to addon package for Dining (RM5 per quarter).

choose which package is more suitable for you, then addon the rest.

propose post #2 template to be enhanced to include average monthly spending for each spending category so that better/appropriate card(s) can be recommended that suits the user...

example from inquiries at post #81...

3. Card required for: Rough estimated usage of Petrol (RM200/month), Dining (RM200/month), Groceries (RM200/month), Movies/Online (RM100/month)

*
kindly follow template from post #2. it helps other ppl easier to recommend accordingly, e.g. annual income range, avg monthly spend, which category/type of spending (if any besides Mobile), what existing card you having now, what cards you're interested (i.e. what homework/research you've done but unsure), etc.

1. Annual Income: 90-95k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes

3. Card required for: Online cash rebate ( payment for mobile, utilities )

4. Existing credit cards (if any):
a) Maybank 2 Cards
b) Maybank Ikhwan Mastercard
c) Maybank VS
d) Aeon Big Visa
e) OCBC Great Eastern Mastercard
f) Ambank WMC

5. Interested in CC from : Looking at UOB YOLO & Onecard, CIMB cash rebate mastercard. Yolo looks good but Im worried I might not be able to hit the RM800 requirement monthly. HLB Wise doesn't suit my spending pattern. Basically looking for a cash rebate card to cover my online shopping, mobile & some bill utilities.
*
do have have any other income that can boost your annual income >RM100k? e.g. EA Form with pay+bonus?

you can try PBB VS which has more flexibility to pay mobile/utilities via online. 6% cashback for dining/online/grocery, no minimum spending.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank 2 Cards Premier

5. Interested in CC from: Maybank or CIMB

6. Others: Decided to let go current Maybank 2 Cards Premier due to high annual fee. Already had it for 2 (or 3, cant remember) years and managed to get fee waived cause of high spending power needed at the time.

PBB VS 6% cashback for Grocery/Dining/Online. capped RM50 cb per statement month (~RM833 spending). if need more cb, apply supp card with separate statement. max RM50 cb will be separate for each card. no min spending for cashback, shift your Utility/Grocery/Dining (if any) to this card. AF waived with 12 swipes per anniversary year.

MBB Mastercard Ikhwan 5% for Grocery/Petrol during Fri/Sat only. capped RM50 per calendar month (RM1000 spending).

MBB Visa Ikhwan Petronas 8% cashback for Petronas during weekend only. capped RM50 cb per calendar month (RM625 spending). get this if you have no loyalty to petrol brand and able to wait to pump during weekend Sat/Sun. if cannot wait, can purchase Petronas Gift Card and reload at Petronas @ Sungai Besi-Puchong Bypass station. use the Gift Card on any days but troublesome to go to this station to reload during weekend, especially you're not near this area.

get PBB VS first, if you can bump the annual income to RM100K

PBB VS 6% cashback for Grocery/Dining/Online. capped RM50 cb per statement month (~RM833 spending). if need more cb, apply supp card with separate statement. max RM50 cb will be separate for each card. no min spending for cashback. AF waived with 12 swipes per anniversary year.

MBB Mastercard Ikhwan 5% for Grocery/Petrol during Fri/Sat only. this is not weird because of certain states' "weekend" biggrin.gif

or get

MBB Visa Ikhwan Petronas 8% cashback for Petronas during weekend only. capped RM50 cb per calendar month (RM625 spending). get this if you have no loyalty to petrol brand and able to wait to pump during weekend Sat/Sun. if cannot wait, can purchase Petronas Gift Card and reload at Petronas @ Sungai Besi-Puchong Bypass station. use the Gift Card on any days but troublesome to go to this station to reload during weekend, especially you're not near this area.

1. Annual Income: RM60K to RM80k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably free.

3. Card required for: Cashback/rebate. Petrol. Utilities. Normal spending (miscellaneous).

4. Existing credit cards (if any): OCBC Titanium Blue

5. Interested in CC from: Any.

=====

6. Others: After reading several guides, my current plan is to get:

Maybank Islamic Ikhwan MasterCard Platinum (Petrol Cashback: Fri, Sat)
Maybank 2 Card Platinum (Petrol Cashback: Sat, Sun)
> Both the above for mainly petrol cashback. Uncertain if it's overkill to have the Maybank 2 Card Platinum and the below ÆON BiG Visa Gold Card.

ÆON BiG Visa Gold Card (Petrol Cashback: Sun)
> Mainly for free access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge.

Hong Leong Bank Essential Visa
> Mainly for cashback on normal spending - but I likely may not have spending above RM5k per month, so may only benefit from 0.6% cashback.

CIMB Cash Rebate MasterCard Platinum
> Just to benefit from CIMB promotions. Preferably free lifetime.

Also what's a good recommendation for utilities cashback?
*
for Petrol, do u mind Petronas? then get MBB Ikhwan Visa Petronas. 8% cashback if spending at Petronas on Sat/Sun.

if possible, get the quad-MBB cards: M2Cards, Ikhwan Mastercard and Ikhwan Visa Petronas.

upcoming m2cards revision will be 5% on every spending on Sat/Sun. pending T&Cs to confirm details. ETA 15 March 2017.

Utilites, how much do u spend on utilities each month, on average?

just realized OCBC 365 MasterCard has 4 good features:

1) 1% rebate on monthly spend up to RM1,000. very good for small-ish amount like monthly Insurance or dan-lain-lain items.

2) No annual fee for the first 3 years. **Only applicable to first time OCBC Credit Card customers and customers who last held an OCBC Credit Card more than 12 months ago.

3) Acquisition Promo, RM88 Cash Rebate (1645 units only) if approved during the Campaign Period and activated within 30 days after approval.

4) Annual Income: At least RM24,000 per annum, which is quite accessible for freshies.
