Actually I can consider that.

For me, points are just points. It's important to see what the points are actually worth. Assuming I get 100K points by spending RM20k during the weekends with the card.

What can 100k points give me? I checked their treatpoints catalogue here: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p.../PRO-Promotions

90k could get me RM200 vouchers..
To also add in RM50 for the 5% weekend cashback.

In total, I could get around RM250 worth of "cashback".
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Compare this with the 1% unlimited cashback from RHB, I get back only RM200 which is pure cashback..
____________________________________________________________________________________________

Oh btw, I need a Credit Limit of RM20k+ as well as I'll be buying the airplane tickets from Malaysia Airlines at one go..

fruitie I remember you mentioned that we could transfer our CL to other cards right? I got a MBB Ikhwan Petronas Visa and MBB Ikhwan Gold MC, each with 6K credit limit

If it's still insufficient, could we request for a higher CL?
*
Put in a fixed deposit of 30k for Maybank 2 Premier.

100k points can be used to get air miles which is worth more than plain cashback.

And you can't transfer limit per say. You can request to split the limit but I doubt banks will combined the limits for you.

Yes, You can Try have Both or Get MBB 2Cards 1st, after  that baru apply MBB Ikhwan MC.
If you have rejected on Ikhwan try request Split CL from M2C by write in Appeal Letter to Them (mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my) like below...
*
He wants to combine his Islamic limit to his conventional limit instead of splitting off this conventional to his Islamic.

What petrol station usually accept Amex?
*
Use the maybank Amex for all types of expenses during the weekend.

As for petrol station, most have no issues except for some branches of BHP and Caltex

Let say I apply for MBB Ikhwan...do I get TP if spending on motorcycle/car shop for accessories and maintenance, or buying home appliances at Giant/Tesco???
*
Motor shop = Yes

Giant Tesco = if get CB means no points, I think.

Anyways, at the rate of 1 to 1 treat points, it will take you forever to redeem anything bro....

To gather treat points, you'll need the M2C Amex / M2P Amex reserve / Mbb World MasterCard......

1. Annual Income: RM30K to RM36K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Petrol, Cash Back/Rebate, Utilities bills. And improve CTOS score (trying to get a good impression on the bank for future loans)

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil

5. Interested in CC from: Citibank / Maybank

6. Others: Please be specific. I will be using the CC for above payments only. And maybe 0% installment plans. I have a good payment with my car CCM, but since i just started to pay my PTPTN loans 3 months ago. My CTOS score is not so good (still waiting for it to improve). I am not sure if i am blacklisted or not though for now
*
Forget about Citibank.

If you're not holding a card from another bank for more than 1 year, they'll be reluctant to approve.

For maybank, 30k is the bare minimum.

Since you already have car loan and ptptn, quite tough to get approved actually.

UOB and cimb is known to be rather lenient.

Why don't you try out this 2 instead?

It's Depends, some can some not, U can details from their Website.
For RHB they have Instant Card Issuance or You can apply Online.
https://www.rhbgroup.com/products-and-servi...t-card-issuance

Other than that u may walk in to the Bank for Submission.
*
Just a heads up

Instant issuance only for Platinum and above.

I tried once for a lower level card, they told me they don't have stock for the card at the center.

tongue.gif

Not sure if it changed already or not.

Hi guys, i really need your help. I have affin bank cc with me which i found it good as no AF imposed on it. However, no benefits other than travel insurance as said on their website.

I am looking for a cc that suits my needs which are; Groceries abt rm 300-400 monthly, travel tix purchases via travel apps like traveloka or etc & online tix purchases,  ptptn, , unifi.

I'm thinking of ALLIANCE younique card but do they give cash back for travel tix purchases? Whereas, cimb cr also is a good choice. I am confused to which card suits me better.

Appreciate your kindness to provide me with suitable card as per above needs.
*
When in doubt, maybank 2 cards is always good.

5% cashback on all retail spending during weekends with the Amex card.

CCRIS confirm shitty. PTPTN is a bad ass. But ya, been doing direct debit monthly repayments. Can anyone help me with it?
*
I doubt anybody can help you with it.

Agents don't have power to override the case for you.

FD route is the best to go.

Luckily I don't have any cards that I wanted now except for VS but knowing PBB, they even rejected me when my CCRIS was good two years ago... doh.gif

At least I got hope for them to approve.

PBB forget it la.... Told me to put 25k for Quantum via FD to get.

Told them to enjoy Raya and left the branch biggrin.gif

Though I suggested people to use FD to apply cards but I'll not do that for myself. smile.gif
AmBank WMC/VI is coming soon, end of this year or early next year with EA form should be no issue.
*
Yeah, unless you need the card urgently and desperately, best to not bother with FD actually.

Unless the bank allows me to get at promotional rates, then I might consider for one cycle biggrin.gif

Hi Sifu,

Pls help to suggest a card tat meant meet below criteria:
1. Annual income: will pledge fd to get the card.
2. Free life time: yes if can. Else it’s fine not to waive if benefit > annual fees.
3. Card requirement: for online spending only, mostly in foreign currency.
4. Existing card: mbb visa signature, mbb2c, hlb wise card.
5. Interests in cc from: any bank.
6. Others: looking for a card tat give the best return/benefit, benefit/return can be treat point, cash back, air miles or etc.. converted in equivalent value($) is the greatest/highest, avg monthly spending on this category(online local/foreign currency) is around rm3-8k.

Thanks..
*
Airmiles : Maybank 2 Premier / Ambank WMC.

But for points wise, WMC requires the spending to be overseas to get the higher points allocation but Ambank also has one of the most competitive forex rate in the market for credit cards.

Maybank 2 Premier on the other hand gives you one of the fastest air miles accumulation if you spend 3-8k a month.
