SCB Cashback Gold: 2 - 5% CB with min spend $500, NO CB for Petrol, Insurance Transactions. However, It's Good on PTPTN Payment.

Quantum Visa - 5% Cash Back on Entertainment & Departmental Stores transactions, capped at RM30 per monthly statement cycle equivalent to RM600 spend.
CIMB Cash Rebate Mastercard
Maybank 2 Cards
Maybank Ikhwan MasterCard
Alliance You:nique

PBB Quantum is 2 separate card? not like MB 2 card right. PBB points would it expire? Any other nice CB card to recommend? for online and dining. Was looking at UOB YOLO but turn off by the limited CB cash pool and minimum swipe needed.

1. Annual Income: RM 36,000

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Prefer Liftetime free/can call CS to waive

3. Card required for: Cashback on top of existing cards

4. Existing credit cards (if any):UOB ONE card / UOB YOLO CARD (to be cancelled)

5. Interested in CC from: Any

6. Others: To have higher cashback on ALL retail purchase (not the typical 0.2%) and online shopping bonus to complement or substitute UOB ONE, would be better if the online bonus is applicable for Google Play Store/Steam purchase.
*
Maybank 2 card, the AMEX card get 5% CB on all transaction on weekend max RM50/month good for purchase up to RM1000. Steam support Amex, play store not super sure.

All transaction? Even online like Lazada etc?

Thank you in advance.
*
Yup all transaction but Lazada doesn’t support Amex. Can try 11street instead. MBB 2 card Amex is really good with 5% CB max RM50/month on all transaction on weekend. Only downside is it being Amex which is not widely accepted in Malaysia. But in case you wonder it comes with an additional visa/MasterCard but only good for 1x point collection. Oh did I mention Amex also include 5x points on top of the CB. On weekday Amex only got points no CB

Another card to recommend is public bank quantum card with 5% CB for online and dining (check PBB forum for full list of merchant/eligible website) but max RM30/month good for RM600 spending

PBB Quantum MasterCard

1. Annual Income: RM60-80k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes, but if can waive after spending a certain amount then I guess > 5k in a year should be ok.

3. Card required for: Good reward points and redemption stuff if possible. or cashback/discounts when spending for foods and shopping in malls and online would be great. (Spend a lot on food daily in mall because I work in a mall)

4. Existing credit cards (if any): CIMB Platinum Cash Rebate Card and Citibank Cash Back card. Planning to cancel either one of those. (New Citibank needs a min 1k spending per month in order to get 10% cashback while CIMB get a flat 2% rate, most probably cancelling my Citibank) - Planning to keep the existing one for petrol, new one for shopping and foods. - Currently using SHELL petrol.

5. Interested in CC from: No preference yet, but currently holding CIMB and Citibank.

6. Other: I used most of my cards during weekdays instead of weekend. (I think some habit can be changed for petrol but food wise I still need them on weekday)

Considering to get this for foods rebate though, any review?: https://www.imoney.my/credit-card/mach/visa-credit-card

Mach has been discontinued. Can check out PBB Quantum MasterCard 5% CB for dining and online spending max CB RM30/month or Maybank 2 card amex (weekend only) 5% CB max RM50 or Maybank FCB, 2% CB max RM50 + May and August 10% CB max RM100

1. Annual Income: RM50k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A must

3. Card required for: Cashback, Petrol, Dining, Utilities

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Citibank Cashback

5. Interested in CC from: SC JustOne Platinum

6. Others: Monthly CC expenses up to RM2k. I prefer CB card because I believed it is the most straight forward reward. Previously was using Citibank CB, but until recently I find out the CB has removed Telco and utilities from the CB categories, so I am looking for some other CB card.

Thank you!

Maybank 2 card. Amex 5% CB on all tranasacion on weekend cap at RM50.

Hi guys,

I've been trying to apply for the 1st CC, but got rejected twice w/o reasons.

I don't have any loans, apart from ptptn, which was alrdy fully paid.

Any idea where I can ask about my application rejection?
*
what bank you applied? maybank was easier for me. Try ringgit plus or offline application. Online one tends to be harder.
Maybank works for me then from there build your nice credit record.

SCB Cashback and JustOne cards for 1.5k and 2.5k spending. If using these 2 still not sufficient, can combine with Alliance You:nique with 3k spending for RM50.

Hmm but the SCB cap for CB a bit confusing hmm

HLB Fortune - 1% Cash Back but need minimum spending RM2k to qualify CB this is a Good card if you could spend at least RM2000 but capped at RM5K (RM50 cash back), that one needs to spend at least RM 2k per month and it will not be accumulated. If cannot achieve then CB burn.  sweat.gif

Yeah... JustOne card have specific categories and tier spending for higher cashbacks.
SCB Cashback card is much simpler though, at least for me. To maximize cashback for large amounts, you might need combination of multiple cards.
*
hmmm sounds troublesome... so the best I could do is with 1% with the Amex cash back credit card hmmm.... what about points? any good card with points? HSBC VS? but only Citibank, Amex and Alliance bank got evergreen points sad.gif

Most credit card requires 30k per annum, such as the Maybank 2 card is quite good.
But this CIMB cash back is not bad also, there are still some other 24k per annum card but I think this is the best I know.

thanks for your feedbacks. seems i should settle with cimb. reading and comparing the cards benefits placed cimb cc above other cc.

i wouldn't be applying now since i'm in procress of acquiring housing loan. after s&p signed i'll apply. would be good to use it to buy certain basic house equipments for my house later.

Usually when they approved your housing loan they’ll give you a credit card as well.
