Dish HD is Taiwan Satellite Pay TV provider?
Because, when i check SES 9 in lyngsat page. It show Dish HD channel is using HEVC/H.265 codec. Must be rich & advanced company... hmm.gif

Yes. Dish HD is using on North East Asia beam, so it is not receivable in Malaysia. And yeah, they are known for using HEVC codec too.

Ansa can create a milestone in Malaysia by making the first pay TV in Malaysia to implement HEVC on its channels. With better video compression codec, they can put more channels in one transponder compared to MPEG4.

I am already praying now. Let's join me, pray together and say this...

May god bless us with this alternative TV Broadcaster to become a reality which hopefully can give us better reasonable monthly rates with much more better channels. May god also bless us in our wishes to teach Assteruk a big lesson so that they will not treat us like sh*t.

May god also grant us our wish that we can still continue to afford paying for Satellite TV entertainment as we become more and more poor due to our bad RM !

We hope Ansa broadcast will launching Islamic State Channel, all Malay will available to showing who will wanted to killing!!

Hmm mean, city area kinda hard lor..
Because most places have high rise buildings..
But well city area have high speed internet connection.. So many don't give damn with satellite TV laugh.gif

From the look of the dish, aligning the dish from Measat to ABS 2 appears that it only move a little bit, and it doesn't different much.

In most cases, if you can receive Measat, you should be able to receive ABS 2, unless you really unlucky to have obstructions.

the sattlelite dish for abs2/2a are quite lower. so some place may face prob to receive signal ( place with high building)
*
You mean the signal strength for ABS2/2a is quite low?

I know little about satellite technology so please excuse my ignorance. May I ask how the dish placed at high buildings will have more problems compared to placing dish at low buildings? I thought that obstruction or block to signal path on top of dish are the cause of reception problems.

But HEVC licensing cost is a bomb right now.

To use HEVC, there are at least minimum 4 big licensors demanding royalty from its usage.

Instead of creating a milestone, I think Ansa would become bankrupt before it even start to broadcast.

Serious!

-MPEG LA
-HEVC Advance
-Velos Media
-Technicolor

Wikipedia entry comparison with H264 would be a good reading.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Efficien...t_license_terms

H264 era = only pay for one pool holder MPEG LA.

Way too long to go....but if thing continue.......maybe AV1 will be the future..... hmm.gif
