Yup, I was told the same. Need the BM to endorse the special rate of 3.55% for 12 months for Invikta customers

For 3.55%, you can opt for HLB 3.55% 4 mths. Already placed twice this week. Too bad the week before I placed 3.5% for 3 mths.

The reason people lock-in a longer term because of the market expectation that OPR will go down in these 12 months.

BEU is beginning to feel shaky.

On Sept 4, my Term Deposit #88300030016454 matured. Typically it auto-redeem at around 12 to 1am of maturity day. However that didn't happen this time.

Ticket LRCODV: Support told me to wait 3-5 days (what?!)

It did finally redeem at 11pm on maturity day but by then I was already asleep.

Is BEU running out of cash to redeem my TD? Or is it just a system hiccup? I've submitted another ticket OISFJD to get an explanation. And all I got was this:

QUOTE
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. Please be assured that we take your concerns seriously, and we have escalated the matter to the relevant team for further review and improvement.

BEU completely ignored my question and had the gall to say "we take your concerns seriously". Humbug!

Three things:

1. I place TDs in the mornings or afternoons. Never at night.

2. I download TD Certificate after every placement. The timestamp on this particular TD shows 4-Sep-2024 at 1:45pm.

3. Recently I had 5 TDs mature (3 in Aug, 1 in July and 1 in June). All five of them were automatically withdrawn around 12:30am on the day of maturity. How do you explain these midnight auto-withdrawals?

The BEU app displays the time of every transaction. I've checked mine. You might want to check yours.

The reason people THERE ARE those who lock-in shorter term is because of their requirement for fund utilization at different points of their life ie. Family medical insurance, house renovation, major car repair cost, child's education .... this is on top of their longer term placement. Say I know come January, I need to pay RM15k for medical insurance, rather than leaving it in my savings, I'll place that in an FD for 3 months. Say I know I need to renovate home for family expansion mid next year, I'll place the funds in FD for 6 months. When I sold my home to pay for my new unit, I staggered my FD placements knowing there will be various stage completion payments. This is called planning.

You are stating the obvious for many in here. Everyone who shares which bank offers what rates for what period is so that options are available.
