I was with the track team, I quit just as Josiah was starting to make a name in the national team. I was in the Sukom 98 project & also the Gemilang 2001 project team, 200m sprint & kilo.

I think U mean Wong Kam Po. I dunno where Seong is now, I met Joo Ngan 2 weeks ago. Haven't met him for quite sometime.
*
was josiah into the sport those years.. i think i heard about his name only somewhere around late 2004...

You are rite... wong kam po... i met seong through edwin at Joo Ngan's shop before back when his father was still the coach...

yeay.managed to finish my 1st 60km ride at sg buloh...clocked it at 2hrs and 54mins...my friend call it Dragon Back...we continue further to complete the whole loop..lot's of cyclists riding around that area..couldnt really keep up with the regulars there...and i think my friend is a hill climbing robot...different level  from me the beginner tongue.gif

today was quite bad... lorries were everywhere and it's quite dangerous. so far so good, only that I have butt ache..hurm time to change to a comfier saddle and a proper bike shoe and pedal is a must! managed to clock my new max speed..64kmh rclxms.gif

it was freaking hot..40'C..got a leg cramp after having a short rest..lactic acid built up i think...

gonna ride more n more..next would be genting sempah and peres...but I have to train few times more at bukit tunku smile.gif

heard about it before... goes up and down all the way...

genting sempah is easier than perez... perez has some quite steep climbs while sempah hits 1800 feet of climbing in under 20 kilometers...only gets considerably steep at the last few K's...

I'm kinda wary about these insert type of lenses, as I'm worried about how long it may take for your eyes to adjust when you put them on. Anybody has got experience with it before?

Butthead,

This is what i mean. The yellow circle part is the part where it was bengkok inwards as in the thin metal thing. That part will rub the wheel spoke when i changes to biggest gear/cassate.s

it could be possible that the cage itself is bent out of shape... i haven't seen yours before...

if you see that the cage itself is flat and straight...it could be also be possible that the dropouts are bent causing the entire RD to be bent and the cage itself together gives and impression that it is not flush with the frame...

the bike shops have a tool to test the drop out straightness against the rims... get them to check it... dropout should be quite cheap @ around RM50 to RM100 depending on brands...

don't worry... the good thing with 105 is that it isn't too inexpensive to replace like SRAM Red or Dura Ace or Di2 or Campy Super Record... not very assuring... but you'd be relieved once you seen those prices...

Lance's 1999 tour winning ride...

Lance's 2002 time trial machine... Trek's offering of a TT frame after the 1999 run on a repainted Litespeed TT frame... and also which Lance and Brurneel lambasted Trek for not having a state of the art TT frame like the walser frames that ullrich was using at that time...

this later came out from Trek.. the TTX, an answer to Lance's pleading and the highly secretive narrow Q factor BB that supposed to improved aerodynamics...

Contador's 2007 tour winning ride..a much reinvented madone with a sloping top tube after Armstrong left the sport... it was a rumour that Armstrong refused to ride sloping top tube frames... very evident on his 7 tour victories... as they say, don't fix wat ain't broken..i believe was a Madone 5.2 even thought the 6 was around... reasons was the 6 was too much under the scales of the UCI limit during that time

The revolution of the same Madone

Here is an explanation on Lance's 2003 stage 15 tour 2nd almost crash...read before reports that the bike was broken after his first tangle with a fans mussette and hitting the deck hard with Mayo running over his chainstay but didn't saw any images of the extent of the damage back then... here is what caused his 2nd slip which much people though was something to do with his pedals or shoes...
user posted image

watch around minute 1:10 and you noticed he slipped and almost crash onto his handlebars... first crash you can see Mayo rode his front wheel over Lance's bike before falling over... it took that amount of force to break the frame and even more amazingly... it held up enough for him to ride up the last few K's of Luz Ardiden and won over the front runners..

there are more pictures in the gallery with MTB stuff as well...

speaking of pedals the other day... it fired up my interest again.. as of now Malaysia has a couple of pedal systems, with Look kinda leading the way along with Shimano, Time, Exustar and another 1 i forgot the name of it (i think it is xpedo if i ain't wrong)

it got me gatal and i started to go find if any shops in malaysia has officially brought in Speedplay pedals...
user posted image

until today, road cycling doesn't really have any double sided entry pedal systems like mountain bike does and that is one of the few rants i have on current pedals... i dislike the fact that i always have to look down when i cannot exactly feel where the pedal is and it is kinda dangerous if you ride on busy roads especially at traffic light interchanges... you end up having to kick the pedal to get it to turn the right side up and stuff trying to move off...

i am not here to taruh speedplay racun since it cannot be bought at all in Malaysia unless you are willing to drive down to singapore to get yourself a set... do bear in mind that it is also not exactly what you call a cheap pedal systems...

but, double sided entry is not the only feature of speedplay... in the argument nowadays on the platform wideness and power transfer.. speedplay has sort of won the argument on paper... although the speedplay pedal is a round piece of small looking thing... but speedplay has argued that their system does not rely on the pedal platform to transfer power but instead their cleats... in that sense, their cleats are actually quite wider than most systems if not all in the market and they are made of metal...

the other advantage of speedplay is their combined system (pedal, cleats) weight over the competitors and also their cleat stack height... i actually find it hard to believe that their cleats are of lower stack height than look or shimano since their cleats actually look bulky... i haven't own a set before... but, let's just leave it at the claims of the manufacturers...

but the major point that i like is the bio mechanical design that speedplay pedals employ in their design... on certain models of speedplay pedals.. there is many ways of adjusting the float and as far as i understand, involves no purchasing of special cleats to do so... also it allows for spring re-centered float which is useful for some people where they want their feet to be centered while pedaling in the saddle but allow slightly amount of float when out of saddle pedaling... cleat adjustments on a speedplay systems are also quite unique from what i read and speedplay offers a lot of shims, and options for people who have some abnormalities on their legs, like shorter on one side and other conditions... they also have options on certain pedals for longer spindels in case you have wide hips and your knees are further apart than normal people...

furthermore, their cleats should effectively live forever as they are made of metal...

as i don't own a set... it actually is quite interesting to me... i did heard that it requires some getting used to for getting in and out of the pedals... but all will become natural at some point...

you can read more on the net.. this is quite an interesting pedal design...
http://speedplay.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.chooselong

that being said... i found a set on ebay for under RM250 at time of posting with shipping.. i can't really tell which pedal it is... but it looks like the light action system and most probably chromoly pedal spindle... although it doesn't have fixed float option on it.. but i gave it a few bids to see if i can win it... have to big again at the last few hours as some bungholes have set their auto-bid on the sale...

else when i have the money... would have to ask friends who travel to singapore to get it from bikehaus officially... i've asked before and retail price for a chromoly set is above RM500.. yikes... titanium sets go for around 1k...

only problem is that any problems you have no backing here in malaysia...

on that note...

what looks like a bargain wheel for RM600..

http://www.bicyclebuysell.com/view_item.php?id=148322

i know matrix makes lots of carbon wheels... but this looks like an alloy rim and the hub is UN-identifiable... but for a grammage of under 1600 grams... it is quite a bargain for RM600 and the poster mentions it is brand new one he bought for a 2nd bike project which got cut halfway...

hope he didn't type wrongly or my eyes saw wrongly...
