I also have the same thought before the accident. Evrything was easy. I was kinda shocked to learn that the hard way man. Checked my computer, the top speed is 40km/s at the time of crash.
I could have lost my life or borken bone or teeth (yes my lips is injured)
40kph won't sound a lot when you hear it... but once you crash at that speed... you know it is not slow... most important to ride sensibly... and never let down your guard...

Ya this is so true, in car 40kph is nothing, but on the bike 40 Kph is seriously something for me. Those pro tour rider downhill at 100 kph were crazy as far i can said.
I now have somekind of phobia, i dunno how to deal with it when I wanna go back to cycling.

what about your bike bro? better get it thoroughly check...but first check thoroughly for your own body b4 the bike im gonna have my 1st long distance ride (around 30-60km) tomorrow morning depending on how many riders in my friend's group...hopefully all goes well tomorrow..
any riding group I can join tomorrow? I don't feel like training run as I have climbathon on Sunday.. Not too far, hopefully within 2 hours because I don't have cycling shorts
@minizian I am sad to hear that, hope that falls would not deterrent you from your future ride.. I never thought that as 40km/h it can do so much damage.. I was having fun just now going a short section of decent.. Around 55km.. Really need to be careful on this...
But for the wobble thingy.. if your bike is not well adjusted it can occurs even and low speed. I tried with my old bike, when I let go both my hand it would wobble after when through humps.. but if descending more than 60km/h and it happens I really won't know what to do man..

My bike should be okay i guessed, The wheels maybe off trued and i wanna check the carbon fork too. There are marks on the shifter on the direction where i fall down.

they do it for money.. you do it for nothing much.. don't take risks by pulling crazy tricks...
there is nothing that we can do to avoid accidents... but that doesn't mean we don't try to avoid it in the first place... no amounts of safety gear can protect you.. so, better to avoid crashing than to crash knowing that you have some gear to keep you safe...

Wobble because of what? I am not in drop down possition as far i remember. my hand is on top of the shifeter hood.
Think the wobble I described is different from yours. Yours seemed to be from the front while mine is from the rear when I jammed the rear brakes too hard and the rear tire locks up when going at high speed.
First time I heard of this speed wobble though, as I use a MTB, not a road bike. Sounds damn freaky ler...

rest well and don't think so much about it... recuperate and then plan about things later.... if you like to ride so much.. no incidents can keep you off the bike... this you can trust me for it.... you will just have 2nd thoughts doing certain things...

Might help to research more into this speed wobble thingy too in the mean time.

your case is just practically losing grip on the rear end... on road bike.. it can be catastrophic.. possible to go into a slide, proceed to recover grip and throw the rider in the opposite direction of the lean onto the ground... what they call high sided on a motorcycle...
here is what could happened with a locked rear... one of the more famous ones... Joseba Beloki in the 2003 running of the tour... although report also stated that he rolled his tubular in the process..
but he definitely locked up... started to slide out from underneath when his tyres suddenly retain it's grip and fling him sideways onto the ground (practically smacked onto the ground full force).. end up breaking his femur and some other bones i remember...
there are some reasons to why it doesn't happen on a mountain bike... partly it can be due to the running of knobby tyres which dampen out the shocks that is required to cause a speed wobble in the first place... and the geometry of the bike and how the rider is sitting more upright as opposed to putting quite a lot of body weight forward on the handlebars.. MTB also leave the ride sort of like pushing against the handlebars horizontally rather than like a road bike... just my theory... can be wrong...

Okay then. Just have to start from step 1 all over again.

I am doing it now after it happend. quite scarry after reading it what was it and i am happy to come out alive although with some injuries and torn jersy and part of the glove
I have a question regarding trainer machine. I saw one priced at rm580...is it good? my friend have the roller thingy but he said that one is pretty hard to balance on for beginners...which one is preferable? trainer or roller?
I need to let my itchy legs moving..furthermore it's a new bike hence I want to ride it often indoor and outdoor...at the moment I can only watch my bike on the bikestand..sometimes I work late and no time to cycle outdoor
