I hope so! But I'm not sure. I may end up not reapplying as I really hate annual fee cards. Can use my PBB VS to cover groceries, and just pump petrol on weekends with MBB Amex.
*
Yes, luckily we have other cards to cover. laugh.gif
The thing is I also don't spend a lot on this card except for TnG reloads at JG and occasionally groceries spending for my mum and pump petrol. The only thing I will miss is the convenience.

Yeh and the high monthly quota - I have only maxed out a few times in the past 4 years. Ive had this card since it was first introduced so I feel slightly nostalgic finally cancelling it. It was great at the time because was one of the few cards with unlimited lounge access for principals and supps, visa pay wave (and quite a lot of promotions for that) and free valet parking at loads of malls. Now none of those benefits exist anymore. Lousy.

Yes, that's the whole point for reapplying isn't it? laugh.gif

True, but Maybank will know that we previously owned the Maybank Visa Signature Card, and that we purposely cancel the card, just to avoid paying for the annual fee.

I wonder whether Maybank will consider this factor, before approving the Maybank Visa Signature Card, for us again.

Yes, it is a hassle to cancel and reapply the card. But, I remembered that you once said that you do not mind such hassle, as long as you can maximize the cashback and other benefits of the cards.

Anyway, if Maybank still approves the card for you for the second time, you would definitely accept it, right? I would too. smile.gif

True. This card is as good as nothing these days. Just like a normal card for groceries and petrol cash back. Nothing else.

They may just reject your application. As simple as this. Once approved then it should follow the normal AF cycle.

Yes for sure! And I like to keep a wide variety of cards just in case the terms and conditions change. For example if PBB VS suddenly pull the benefits, I will seriously have a hard time finding a replacement. So better to hold many cashback cards and always be prepared for sudden changes.

Just get approved for this card after appeal with all supporting documents via email, before that, keep rejected by MBB due to PTPTN. smile.gif
For those who interest, probably can send all supporting documents such as FD, ASNB, bank statement, payslip, tenancy agreement and it definitely will help.

Seeing how they restored M2C's cashback, I was secretly hoping they would start to do the same with VS.

For Maybank 2 Card American Express, Maybank increases the internet rate from 8.88 % to 15 %. Thus, Maybank has gained extra 6.12 % from their cardmembers who do not pay the statement balance in full. That is why they can reinstate 5% weekend cashback. rclxms.gif

For Maybank Visa Signature Card, there is nothing much that Maybank can do, to reinstate lounge access. Still, I am very happy with 5% everyday cashback for grocery and petrol.

Theoritically saying, yes it is in fact the lowest, others are like 80k or 100k?
Okay, will consider that, but the AF is turning me off to be honest...

I would appreciate the lounge access and the extra perks it used to come with last time tongue.gif

This card used to be a premium last time, now no longer appreciated due to the reduction of privilege

The best combination now seems to be
M2C Amex (5% weekend CB, 5x points)
Ambank WMC (unlimited PPL entry and RM1 : 1 airmiles overseas transactions)
PBB VS (6% CB for Dining, Groceries, Online, 5x PPL Msia)

All no AF except PBB which requires 12x swipes per year (should be no prob)

Hi Guys,

I called the callcenter to confirm if the annual spending is RM30,000 for the Annual Fee Waiver. One of them said no its RM50,000 again and then when i called again another person said its RM30,000.

Anyways long story short i applied today and awaiting approval.

I asked them if insurance monthly fees counted as expenditure for the RM30,000 annual spending, they said yes it is. As long as anything charged to the card is considered. So is this true guys?

Thanks for the info!! I think i will be using it as my main card. So cool. I applied last night and submitted my document and just now at 6PM i received the sms that my card approved. lol.

I don't know why i never once have problem applying for any credit card. I currently holding 3 and is 5 digit credit limit each. So i don't know how Maybank actually screen their customer to see if they eligible.

Ill update on how the packaging comes etc.

PS: I already have the Maybank2 card platinum. Did not find it useful especially AMEX since very limited places accept it.

smile.gif Not a big issue with this card, many have this card.

The packaging has nothing interesting and this card in my opinion is just a Plat level card, not worthy though I have it and will cancel when my AF is reached.

Better stick to my plan for PBB VS.
