Mine was rejected earlier by the system when I applied via M2U on 18th Sept. Then, sent them email and every email they took few days to reply... So eventually only approved on 29th. sweat.gif

Is your annual income higher than the minimum annual income needed for this card? Good for you. rclxms.gif And, it is nice to know that you have obtained your MBB VS card.

My annual income is lower than the minimum annual income needed for this card. But, as mentioned in Maybank 2 Card thread, having a credit limit of RM 20k for Maybank 2 Card will allow us to apply for MBB VS card.

Since my credit limit for Maybank 2 Card is around RM 20k, I may try my luck to apply for this card.

Good for you who managed to get annual fee waiver, despite spending only around RM20k per year. notworthy.gif

The general idea I get from other cardholders here is that there is strictly no annual fee waiver, if the annual spending is below RM 50k. confused.gif

Thank you very much for confirming that your RM 20k annual spending are purely on grocery and petrol transactions, and it allows you to get annual fee waiver for Maybank Visa Signature Card. It is awesome! notworthy.gif

Did you ask for annual fee waiver, before or after the annual fee was posted on the transaction history of your Maybank Visa Signature Card, as seen in Maybank2U online website?

I am unsure whether you all are aware of this or not.

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards

Annual Fee
Principal: RM550, FREE for the first year. Subsequent years FREE if spend a min of RM30,000 and above per annum

It is a great news, if the minimum spending to get annual fee waiver is officially lowered from RM50,000 to RM30,000. rclxms.gif Plus, one notable member managed to get the annual fee waiver, even with annual spending of about RM20,000, purely on grocery and petrol transactions.

For Visa Airport Speed Pass:

www.airportspeedpass.com is now redirected to https://speedpass.yqnow.com/. Is the yqnow website the proper website for Visa Airport Speed Pass?

Well, I would like to know the way by which I can apply for the Visa Airport Speed Pass, and the fee incurred.

Do you all still receive SMS transaction alerts, if you use your Maybank Visa Signature Card for Visa Paywave transactions?

Is no SMS alert applicable to Maybank only, or to all credit cards from any local bank in Malaysia?

Can credit card application through e-mail be considered as online application, and RM 30 Aeon voucher can be given as well?

Thanks for your confirmation. smile.gif

It is likely that if I submit my credit card application through Maybank2U, my application will be rejected.

That is why I submitted my credit card application by e-mail to Maybank Card Services, and submit additional supporting documents to enhance my chances.

For recent new applicants of Maybank Visa Signature Card (who applied and obtained for the card within the last 3 months or so), do you still receive the terms and conditions booklet, and the fancy privileges booklet in the envelope containing your new Maybank Visa Signature Card?

For my case, I did not get any booklet at all, other than a standard Pin-and-Pay instruction paper telling me how to activate the credit card and how to set a PIN. As such, I am treated as if I am a cardholder whose existing signature-based credit card is replaced with Pin-and-Pay credit card, instead of treated as a new cardholder of Maybank Visa Signature Card. By the way, this is the first time I have a Maybank Visa Signature Card.

When I called Maybank Customer Service requesting for the booklet, the Customer Service officer asked me to download the booklet from Maybank2u website. Yeah, I know that every bank is implementing cost-cutting measures. But, where is the prestige feeling that I should have, when I first received my Maybank Visa Signature Card? sad.gif

Yes, same. Not a big issue for me. I don't think it has any interesting booklet, have you downloaded? Can link here? laugh.gif

They are all in the official website of Maybank Visa Signature in Maybank2u website.

Maybank Visa Signature Terms & Conditions

Maybank Visa Signature Privileges Booklet

When you download both booklets, you will see that the booklets are black glossy booklets, symbolizing the prestige we should have as Visa Signature cardholders. smile.gif

I could be wrong, but I remembered someone shared in the first version of this thread that the Maybank Visa Signature card is neatly tucked in nice-looking envelope, when the cardholder first received the card.

QUOTE(AhBoy~~ @ Dec 18 2016, 02:09 AM)
Same for me. Anyway the online booklet is outdated as well..
*
Yeah, we apply for this card for the sake of 5% everyday cashback on grocery and petrol. But, shouldn't we have a chance to experience the prestige feeling, when we first received this card? sad.gif

Assuming that you cancel your Maybank Visa Signature Card on May 2017, you may reapply for the same card on November 2017.

If that is the case, do you still get free 1-year annual fee waiver for your Maybank Visa Signature Card, from November 2017 to October 2018? hmm.gif

True, but Maybank will know that we previously owned the Maybank Visa Signature Card, and that we purposely cancel the card, just to avoid paying for the annual fee.

I wonder whether Maybank will consider this factor, before approving the Maybank Visa Signature Card, for us again.

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Apr 13 2017, 09:58 PM)
I may end up not reapplying as I really hate annual fee cards.

Yes, it is a hassle to cancel and reapply the card. But, I remembered that you once said that you do not mind such hassle, as long as you can maximize the cashback and other benefits of the cards.

Anyway, if Maybank still approves the card for you for the second time, you would definitely accept it, right? I would too. smile.gif

For Maybank 2 Card American Express, Maybank increases the internet rate from 8.88 % to 15 %. Thus, Maybank has gained extra 6.12 % from their cardmembers who do not pay the statement balance in full. That is why they can reinstate 5% weekend cashback. rclxms.gif

For Maybank Visa Signature Card, there is nothing much that Maybank can do, to reinstate lounge access. Still, I am very happy with 5% everyday cashback for grocery and petrol.

Toll free customer service number for Maybank Visa Signature is 1800-88-1801, same as Maybank 2 Card Platinum. For Maybank Visa Signature, press 1 on the telephone keypad. For other platinum cards, press 2.

Suppose that I have Maybank Visa Signature Card and Maybank 2 Card Platinum American Express. I have some issues with my Maybank 2 Card Platinum American Express only, without any other issue on my Maybank Visa Signature Card.

Can I press 1 to ask questions about Maybank 2 Card Platinum American Express? Or, that is not allowed, and I should press 2 instead?

Thank you for your information. smile.gif

Good explanation, cybpsych.

It seems that pressing 1 is strictly for Maybank Visa Signature Card issues, and pressing 2 is for Maybank platinum credit card issues.

But, as you said, it does not matter. I just press 1, as the waiting time to be attended by CS should be shorter. smile.gif

A few months ago, when I used Visa Paywave function on my Maybank Visa Signature Card, there was no SMS transaction alert sent to my handphone. The approval code is VLPXXX (XXX being numbers). If I am not mistaken, no SMS transaction alert will be sent, if we use Visa Paywave function on credit cards issued by other banks.

Recently, when I used Visa Paywave function on my Maybank Visa Signature Card at Aeon Supermarket, I received SMS transaction alert. The approval code is usual 6-digit number, similar to non-Paywave transactions.

That is a good development, whereby I have confidence in using Visa Paywave, knowing that I can use the SMS transaction alert to check whether double transactions occur.

Are SMS transaction alert for Visa Paywave transactions limited to Aeon Supermarket, or Maybank Visa Credit Card only? Or, recently, we can get SMS transaction alert for the Visa Paywave credit cards issued by other banks.

Has anyone reported receiving SMS transaction alert for Visa Paywave transactions, using credit cards issued by other banks?

What is the approval code for your Paywave transaction done through your HSBC card? VLPXXX (XXX being numbers), or 6-digit number?

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Apr 30 2017, 11:28 AM)
Paywave will not trigger any SMS alert
*
Yes, that used to be the case, for the past few months.

However, when I paid for grocery in Aeon Supermarket via Visa Paywave transaction through Maybank Visa Signature Card last Friday (2 days ago), I did receive a SMS transaction alert for this transaction.

Logically speaking, Maybank may have finally implemented sending SMS transaction alerts for Visa Paywave transactions done via Maybank Visa Credit Cards. hmm.gif

I just cancelled my Maybank Visa Signature Card (not Maybank FC Barcelona Visa Signature Card).

I was told by Maybank Customer Executive that Maybank does not send the credit card termination letter to me via post. bangwall.gif Is this true, or the Maybank Customer Executive is bluffing?

For other banks, it is reasonable for ex-cardholders to request for the credit card termination letter, from the bank.

Yes, faster via card centre.
Launched yesterday, I applied at 2.00 p.m. yesterday, got my card 4 hours later from The Gardens Card Centre. I think I was the fastest person to own this card in this thread.  blush.gif In conclusion, card centre is faster. Not any branch ya.

Since the rest of the population in Malaysia are not so well-versed in credit card as us in this thread, that will put you as around the first 10 people in the whole Malaysia to have this credit card.

fruitie sis, are your last four digits of your Maybank FC Barcelona Visa Signature 0001? tongue.gif Just kidding. There is no need for you to reveal the last four digits of your card. smile.gif

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 12 2017, 12:27 AM)

Lowest VS' requirement in history, even lower than its Plat. laugh.gif Seriously, I don't know why they came out with this decision. They can park it under Gold or Plat. hmm.gif

Here is my personal opinion on this. For such very famous football club, for sure, Maybank is not going to issue a co-brand gold credit card that carries the name of FC Barcelona. The status of the credit card must be prestigious, so the Visa Signature level is appropriate.

Obviously, Maybank wants to encourage more cardholders to sign up for this card. Insisting the annual Income of at least RM70,000 will reduce the number of eligible cardholders. For a win-win solution, Maybank reduces the minimum annual income, below the requirement of Platinum credit cards (RM60,000 per card).

Regardless of what the real reason is, as long as we cardholders can benefit for the 2% cashback for generic spending, we should be happy. During May and August next year, most of us will divert almost all of their spending to this card, to gain tasty 10% cashback. brows.gif
